This design is pretty great, but the secrets in the actual blades which this deal does not contain enough of.
You can get much cheaper handles with less accessories , but the only place I’ve ever found cheaper blades is in combo packs with the handle at Costco and Sam’s
@thismyusername Watch deal sites. Occasionally you can get them heavily discounted on Amazon during stacked sales and coupon codes, for like $5-6 per blade.
@ohhwell depends on use but I can stretch them out 6 months when used one or twice a week. They have a wear indicator built into the blades themselves that are pretty accurate.
The $20 beard trimmer I’ve been using to keep the ol’ bushy under control is definitely showing it’s age, so this might not be the worst purchase of all time for me. I do like the idea of doing a shave and a trim all at once down there. Also, I did manage to limit myself to only the doggy pool during the 'thon… Hopefully the blades don’t burn up too quick.
Honestly, if you have little kids or are clumsy in general, don’t get this. Not because the kids will accidentally get nicked (they won’t), but the blades are stupidly easy to break, and even the cheapest replacement packs are pretty expensive. And they used to be $35 at target, etc. now they’ve going for $50??
She couldn’t speak, but smell. She couldn’t see but feel. She couldn’t hear, but touch. So, made history for the rest of the world about how to live a quality life without seeing, hearing, and speaking.
I have an earlier face-only version and I love it. Yeah, blades are crazy expensive. But for a quick facial cleanup they’re great. Or, if you’ve let your beard go a bit too much, they’re great for getting the foliage down to a level you can then finish with a blade. This is a good but not spectacular deal and I am tempted.
@ESTNYC I think I also have the face one, the blade looks the same, but the styling is different. It works surprisingly well to shape the edge of a beard when you take the guard off, and isn’t as irritating like that as I’d expect.
@ParadisePete@yidboy You’re not wrong that it’s primarily a trimmer, but I have the face version of this, and I take the guard off and use the edge to shape my beard and then use it flat to shave what’s outside of that, and it works well for that. There are definitely better tools for shaving your head, as this is flat and small, but it provides a less irritating shave than you might expect.
@FajitaofTreason I can go from full mountain man to cleanly shaven in like 10 mins… this then follow up with quick electric shave. 100% on the face trimming train with ya here.
I have one. The package is stupidly hard to open. It’s a challenge to not injure yourself doing so. I failed. The trimmer itself works well. It’s surprisingly lightweight, so I toss it in my bag when traveling. Just in case, ya know, of a trimming emergency.
It’s a challenge to not injure yourself doing so. I failed.
There’s a lawyer for that. [There’s a lawyer for everything now-a-days.] The package didn’t say that by attempting to open, you were releasing them from all liability for personal injury? I try to totally destroy such packaging, in case the product doesn’t work and I need to return it. They’re welcome.
I personally HATE opening plastic clam-shell packaging and welcome a class-action lawsuit against such things. And all the shoplifters that made their use common should be jailed and made to work at hard labor, since they’d rather steal than work to pay for things.
IMO, one of the things that Amazon got right early on was their attempt at “frustration-free” packaging. Probably bought Bezosbub a deck on his yacht.
@phendrick
I’ve opened a lot of clamshelled products in my life - this was the most difficult ever.
fwiw I bought mine at Amazon
I sure agree with the sentiment though.
I’ve had mine for years and it’s wonderful. Way less irritation than other electric razors. Zero nicks. Battery lasts forever. I use this and a safety razor.

@yakkoTDI https://www.theonion.com/fuck-everything-were-doing-five-blades-1819584036
@kensey Nice flashback. It goes along with this.
@yakkoTDI, you’s de man!! 🫢
I have one of these and it’s pretty great.
@vfrdirk I had one of these and it was pretty bad.
@ponagathos @vfrdirk ah the duality of man
@GeneralAnubis what is man? A miserable pile of hair.
This is a revolutionary product. I already have two different versions. Drops to $30-40 during Black Friday for this version, so the price isn’t bad.

@thismyusername do these things go through blades like a traditional razor or something?
@thismyusername No, the blade will last a very long time. It’s not shaving close, it’s trimming, so razor-sharpness is not required.

@ohhwell @thismyusername FYI, currently on sale: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNP56GKH

@jthoma12 amazons had the best non discount price for the last month or so 3 for $30
G’day mate, will these work “down there”?
Asking for a friend in Australia.
@phendrick I’ve used it before to trim up the shadow realm. I’ve switched to Nair for a smoother feel though.
This (a non TAINTED one) is great for beard lines while in the shower to give a quick clean up.

Hey Helen, I think you’re in the wrong thread. This is “Deals” - History is down the hall.
@806D2701 Maybe Helen’s mother used one of these? So a history tie-in with product?
i always forget which is which so here is a visual.
this is for the junkage area
and this one is for everywhere else but the junkage area

@ESTNYC I also currently have the face one and I love it, most of the time.
This looks like a decent Meh offer.

Anyone use this on their head? That’s really the only place I shave these days.
@yidboy it’s a trimmer. You won’t get a close shave on your head (or anywhere else).

Meh, I found this recently at Sam’s Club for about the same price but with 3 of the razor heads.
This item is great, but it has a lot of thin plastic parts, so it’s fragile. If you drop it or torque it the wrong way, it’ll break.
If you don’t break it, it’ll work great for years and should be well worth the money. GL
Suggestion to the Meh TPTB, @troy etal:
Have a poll each one-deal day to assign judgement to the write-up. I give this one a “9” rating.
I’ve had mine for years and it’s wonderful. Way less irritation than other electric razors. Zero nicks. Battery lasts forever. I use this and a safety razor.
Haven’t tried mine yet, it’s dead without a charger. Product box was opened.
FYI the two combs on front of the packaging are HOT GLUED! I broke “body comb” trying to remove it from packaging. Be careful.
