Paper tiger
15I have been staying home, ordering things and food for delivery, and being sanctimonious about people who just have to get their nails done. This is Flori-duh, so our brilliant governor allowed lots of shops to open this week. I had a doctor’s appointment, and somehow my car detoured toward my favorite thrift store/charity shop. I went home with three bags of goodies that I didn’t need at all. The workers were all wearing masks. I talk a good game but apparently it was just talk.

Think of it as doing a good deed. You were helping that shop stay in business and paying for part of the paycheck for a worker. Now you don’t have to feel guilty.
I wish I knew where in my home state there was a thrift store that was still open!
I felt guilty picking up a toddler pool at Target for my turtles. So I get it.
At least you can admit it. That takes more emotional maturity than 90% of the world!
/giphy good job!
and for the record, as long as you were being smart about adhering to the guidlines for distancing, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all.
Man, I wish they all wore masks around here. I had to submit to a lease renewal inspection by the realty nazis, and she didn’t wear a mask! I forgot to cough and retch as I answered the door. That would have been amusing.
@PocketBrain Me too. In the grocery store the vast majority of people don’t and most of the employees have theirs pushed out of the way under their chin.
@PocketBrain
I live in Oklahoma. There have been threats if violence over mask rules and a shooting over a McDonald’s dining room being closed.
Let me say this again so the shear stupidity of this sinks in. A SHOOTING OVER GOING INTO MCDONALD’S.
Stuff like this really really makes me wish I lived somewhere else.
@Kidsandliz
And the Domino’s! Saw two people at this pickup/delivery only location, no masks in sight. I’m going to start putting that note in Google reviews.
Our grocery stores are better; like 90% of employees have masks on. I guess it’s basically useless if they don’t all wear them, though.
@jst1ofknd @PocketBrain Come to Florida. It’s not boring. Duval county has free COVID testing.
We’re practically neighbors! Camden co. GA here.
Paper tiger? You mean like kamitora (Japanese)?
NSFW BTW.
@tweezak I understood that reference
I live in a rural area - my county has 14 cases and 0 deaths on record. But our idiot governor wants to lump this county (and the next county over, with similar low stats) in with the 3 big counties of the Portland metro area, at the end of the line in the “phased relaxing of the shutdown order” list. Fortunately our state rep and a few other officials are lobbying for us to be considered separately.
@macromeh If they allow you to open up but not the Portland area you may find, like they are in GA, that all sorts of people cross the county line (in GA state lines) to access what they can’t in their county. That would likely increase the rate in your county.
