Another victim of the school of “Put An LED On It” marketing. Not bright enough to be effective for navigation or as a safety marker. Plenty of light to allow zeroing in on your beanie with a night scope. Might be bright enough to allow reading the hastily-scribbled note with directions to the secluded house where your boyfriend claims that he found something you’ve got to see, assuming you’re the love interest in a C-grade October-release movie.
The beanie is hardly “compression”. It is so loose on my bean that a stiff breeze knocks it off. Also, it is so short it barely covers the tops of my ears. No, I do not have a large bean, just a dense brain.
Got mine delivered this week. Yes, it’s probably a bit short for my husbands head but def wide enough (fits kind of big on me but comfortable and will stay put)…. But this thing is BRIGHT!!! It’s perfect for what I purchased it for which is to use when camping so my husband has hands free light will hitching and unhitching the trailer at night. Love it!
@iutami
Thanks for the endorsement. That’s a compelling use case scenario. Maybe the batteries are going bad in the one that werehatrack reviewed…?
(Sorry to disappoint, ShotgunX!)
@chienfou oh just saw that. That’s weird! Though there are multiple settings so you can dim the light. Maybe his isn’t working properly. But for ours, on high, it lit my whole living room/dining room/kitchen no problem! I was really impressed.

@werehatrack In for a dozen for my future girlfriends.
