Have you ever heard of an upsell technique called the “eclipse”? You show the customer a drink cup (or something), and then put a bigger one in front of it (or drop it into the bigger one) and say “you can get the larger size for just $X more”.
I see 14.6” H for a dimension.
Is that for the base only, or with containers?
How tall are the containers and what is the total height with the small and large?
I have limited height under cabinets of only 16.5".
@rjquillin i found this on one of the amazon pages: When in working position on the base with the 24 oz. cup, the total height is 14 1/8"
however, someone posted here that was the height of the base only, so i don’t know. seems a few people have these, so perhaps one of them can weigh in or a meh staff person can.
Okay, seriously, is this worth getting if I just moved to a new apartment and have no food processor/blender? I’ve always heard ninja is a great brand and am leaning towards buying this.
@BkrT Yes! I don’t need my blender anymore. I use a different model Ninja for food prep when cooking, and my mom uses her for egg, tuna and chicken salad. I use mine all of the time. If I only had one appliance, it would be this one. I’d take this over a toaster, microwave or Keurig.
I have this Ninja (without the bowl, just the cup), and it is amazing. I kind of want to buy this one as well, just in case one of my other Ninjas dies, due to the price. I use mine all of the time, and even bought one for my parents (actually, for me when I visit them). I use mine with frozen fruit for protein shakes anywhere between three and five times a week. (Use sliced frozen strawberries, though, because whole frozen strawberries can kill the motor, or so I’ve heard.) This is an insane price for this item.
They also have a blender container (pitcher) attachment for this base that I purchased here back in February. Thing doesn’t die, and mine was a refurb at $84. Haven’t regretted it a single day. I believe the base itself is about 14 inches tall. The containers are pretty tall. Somebody in the comments asked as he may have clearance issues with his counter. Only 16", though? How do you do anything? Anyway, the base is pretty tall. This is a steal at $64 with 1 year warranty.
@Dolemite it’s not that weird, the area between my counter & cabinets is the same measurement, and it’s probably the same at my parents’.
of course, that’s just to store things and but for a canister set and a small hot sauce collection, i don’t keep anything there. i’m not like hunched under that space prepping food or anything. (and in a perfect world i’d get rid of the upper cabinets altogether, but…i rent.) still, 14 inches just for the base? holy cow! i’m glad i read your comment, i don’t think i ever would have considered it was that big. (twss.)
ETA: on amazon someone else said that was the height of the base with the 24oz cup on top of it. anyone? bueller? When in working position on the base with the 24 oz. cup, the total height is 14 1/8".
@rjquillin glad it worked out! also, you’ll have to define WW. weight watchers? not since i was a kid. some form of woot? yes, same username, same great me.
@rpo Per the manual: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Voltage: 120V, 60Hz Watts: 1200W (Even if you found a power converter to step the 230/240V down to 120V, the 50Hz vs 60Hz might eclipse this blender’s performance)
@jerk_nugget Yeahhhh I don’t even eat the stuff but couldn’t help thinking when does one need to process an avocado with a machine? Just means that ish ain’t ripe!
@midcontrast seriously! (i actually did that once many years ago when i was supposed to bring guac to a party and the avocados weren’t to my liking to see if it would work. just turns them into tiny avocado shards. not good. disposed of it.)

Unusual to have a face with color. Nice.
@cengland0 yeah but do I need special glasses to view it?
@cengland0 I can officially say this is my favorite face they have done to date.
@stardate820926 in 2 month I’m sure meh will sell is 2017 left over glasses
2 more gadgets to take up precious counter space, no thanks.
@SoftAsFur It’s just one gadget with 3 cup and one bowl attachments.
How is this $129 on Amazon??
@osiris3mc thats the normal price
it has dropped into the mid 80’s recently
https://camelcamelcamel.com/Nutri-Ninja-Auto-iQ-Boost-NN101/product/B01KA7VZGA
@osiris3mc you could also spend $131.75 over there.
@communist Even more recently it was $159.99
Oh, come on. How many gadgets earn an F Fakespot rating with just four reviewers? This may be one-of-a-kind. These gadgets do not disappoint!
@gertiestn this amazon page is much more robust with over 200 reviews:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01KA7VZA6
and according to the manufacturer it’s the exact same as this model- the only difference being the number of 24oz cups it comes with.
These will make awesome margaritas.
@alacrity

@jerk_nugget Thanks.
Really would like to get this, but lacking confirmation on dimensions it’s gotta be a pass.
@rjquillin I bought this one and measured it- 14-1/2 inches high. It’s a different model so that might not be helpful. But I tried.

@sammydog01 Took a chance. It fits. Thanks!
But it really needs to have some earplugs included.
@rjquillin Yay! Make a pina colada for me.
I’m disappointed they didn’t have anything solar eclipse themed for today. Like a run on sunglasses or something.
@hockeyham Please, no.
I don’t want to be blamed for that again.
@hockeyham What do sun glasses have to do with a solar eclipse?
@cengland0 wait 2 months and they’ll be selling us 2017 elipse glasses

@idiotdaughter bought it!

@idiotdaughter I use frozen strawberries in mine for smoothies all the time. It’s been about 2 years and it’s still slaying.

@jerk_nugget bueller?
Have I seen you on WW?
As I mentioned to an earlier post.
Took a chance, it fits; but sure is loud.
Thanks!
@rjquillin glad it worked out! also, you’ll have to define WW. weight watchers? not since i was a kid. some form of woot? yes, same username, same great me.
It chooches. (AvE style)
Daughter has one. Likes it
Will this work on EU 230volts?
@rpo For a few seconds, but then, probably only that once
@rpo Per the manual: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Voltage: 120V, 60Hz Watts: 1200W (Even if you found a power converter to step the 230/240V down to 120V, the 50Hz vs 60Hz might eclipse this blender’s performance)
@caffeineguy thanks!
avocado toast…but…you just mash the avocado onto the toast. if a high powered blender is required your avocados aren’t ready yet.
@jerk_nugget Yeahhhh I don’t even eat the stuff but couldn’t help thinking when does one need to process an avocado with a machine? Just means that ish ain’t ripe!
