Not fair for Eastern timers.
1I love this web site but the problem is I have to stay up till 12 am to not miss a deal like today, but I missed. On the other hand people in west coast after they are dinner while they are having they tea and desert they can grab a fresh deal. Why don't you change the timing and run a new deal 9pm for eastern time and let previous deal run for another 3 hours people who don't have time for during the day. I hope you will consider it. Let's play it fair for everybody.

Set an alarm.
I'm sure the west coast folks would complain that it's interrupting something (late dinner, tv show, watching the sunset....)
They're here in Texas so if they change the timing,
the daily deal should change at midnight local time.
@nadroj no thanks, I like my mountain time deals starting at 10 :)
Oh no. Are we going to go through this again?
If you look at the map of who purchased the item for the day, you can see that the east coast gets their fair share. In my opinion, the east coast doesn't seem to be hindered.
If it's too much of a problem for you, then go to sleep and maybe the product will still be available when you wake up. If it is something you wanted and it sells out, hope that it appears again at a later date. Product repeats do happen.
@cengland0
(Speaker docks for the win!)
Frankly I'm a bit annoyed when these complaints come up.
Obviously the time will be inconvenient for SOME time zone, I had hoped though that whichever people didn't like the time would just take it in stride.
As for "letting it play fair for everybody ", I know numerous East Coasters who love the midnight flip. Besides, it would ruin the aspect of daily deal site if the flip was at night.
Besides if hypothetically the flip was moved to the night before, and it extended 3 hours for people, then those people would get 27 hours (or something like that. I don't like calculating numbers when time zones are involved. I never really liked them anyways.)
You should have stayed up to watch the Packers-Cardinals game. It ended at midnight.
@sammydog01 who?
@sammydog01 Now that I'm not after points I haven't been watching. BTW, How did my QB Carson do ?
@ceagee Awesome. He threw a 75 yard pass to Larry Fitzgerald (my guy) in overtime to win it. Next week they face the Panthers.
@sammydog01 yay Carson ! And I did see that J. Stewart had 2 TDs for Car. He was injured my last 2 weeks of playoffs, along with the rest of my major players. Well Carson played, but with his dislocated finger. Guess it's not bothering him much now.
Interesting to see who will win out of those 2. Probably Car. But you never know.
Yes, I am still bitter about all the damn injuries. bah.
Let it go let it go let it go. The snow is piling up outside and pissing me off anyways.
DON'T EAT US!!!!
@Ignorant
You're safe. The FDA wouldn't approve all the additives and chemicals needed to improve the meat.
@FroodyFrog The FDA approved all the stuff that goes into a hot dog. I can't imagine soylent green being any worse.
@narfcake @froodyfrog @ignorant Considering what is used to fatten up the west coasters likely the meat would be banned/condemned anyway.
@Kidsandliz Fatten? All vegetarian diet, dammit!
@narfcake
Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
@narfcake pop, eating out, chips, junk food, zillion calorie Starbucks... yes fatten. Of course an all vegetarian diet they are probably 'radioactive' with pesticides.
As an east coaster - it is perfectly fair. It's not like they move the time around and don't tell us. Though, that would be fairly entertaining...
@Thumperchick Please don't give them any ideas
Why has no one ever thought of this before??
@pitamuffin
Sarcasm?
@FroodyFrog
I hate this soo much I am not even going to comment...
Wait...well fuck.
Try being An Old Fart! Do you have any idea how hard it is for senior citizens to stay awake past 8 o'clock? Regardless of time zone???
I think that's why they have those really early dinner specials at local restaurants. Keeps us from falling asleep at the table.
But come 5 in the morning and we're wide awake!
@Teripie I was awake before 5 this morning. Does that mean I'm old?
@narfcake I was sup crazy early too, something in the air?
@narfcake @Foxborn Was a time when I was up at 5 a.m. it was because I hadn't gone to bed yet. Ah, for the good old days.......
@Teripie I'm retired and stay up late and sleep in. If I'm in bed before 3am (CDT) it's because I'm having sex with someone. Usually the wife.
@Teripie old people do not want to buy anything. All they want is love and friends. My parents are 87 they want to live simple and give things away to see people happy. They are not the ones buying.
@Mellaine In truth I do stay up late, but my 75 year old husband hits the hay pretty early. I'm 65. I'm always up for roll over.
And I spend money like mad. This is one senior who loves to shop!
@Teripie Yeah, when I wasn't good and I wasn't old.
@dkadirny Good news! As a VMP, you can get the leftovers of any sale that didn't sellout until 6 AM EST the next morning!
Maybe this isn't the shopping site for you.
i can't figure it out. For 10 years with Woot I was online at 1 a.m. come hell or high water, but I can never remember to check Meh at midnight
@pooflady Late night daily deal site burnout?
@pooflady LOL
@conandlibrarian YES! I love it!
@conandlibrarian this is improper
ah much better
@conandlibrarian
Get over it.
East Coaster here waited til change over discussed it thought about it bought fell straight to sleep. So yeah.......
@KDemo
Now we just need a volcano.
@FroodyFrog
Well this looks out of place.
Not really, in my defense,Gollum was there before.
Really?
Yeah, but then it got changed. Therefore I'm not insane.
Not yet at least.
True.
Move. Start your own site. Cheer up, sucker. Take your pick. Edit: Woot.com has been releasing their appsclusive "deals" at 9pm central. Check that out.
@medz
It just occurred to me that in 7 years I've only bought from Woot twice.
@FroodyFrog I know, right? I've only bought like 360 things from 'em since 2009.
@medz
Once a daily deal site decides to sell a lot of items a day, then i don't even bother with it anymore, so...
Ironically though, Woot isn't as bad as 2 other sites which years ago i sounds to check midnightly.
Again with this shit. I live on the East Coast. I stay up every night. Every night since day zero. If you don't want to stay up then go to bed. It's the game we play and those are the rules. A lot of us used to stay up till 1 am for that ass site woot! but @snapster was smart enough to start things an hour earlier here. It is what it is. Besides, there is a very good chance you are not getting a fuku bag, there are too many people on this site now anyway.
My last break of the evening is at 12:00 am so I'm always on at the stroke of midnight. If the powers that be change it to 9:00 then it wouldn't coincide with my break time. Therefore I think it should stay the same.
Don't make me mention Chick-Fil-A and sundays again....
I have the Meh Stalker app. Alerts when it's five-till-midnight and another at midnight.
Also works great to remind me that it's midnight and I need to go to bed.
@The_Baron I take it you wrote the goes off at noon revew? ;) J/K
@Foxborn Actually, when I first started using it, it went off as normal. Freaked me out a couple times. "Who the hell is texting me?!"
Oh, wait.
As someone living on the East Coast, I'd like to file a formal complaint. California gets all the California sunshine.... fucking selfish assholes.
@capguncowboy They also get California earthquakes, flash floods, mud slides, and fire season.
I feel like we need to have a photoshop contest surrounding this old topic. Perhaps because I'm hoping to get @cinoclav nice and cranky.
But also because if the right angle could be found, it might be hilarious.
@jaremelz Found it:
