@CrossIT I am not understanding this apparent need to visit Woot. After an evaluation period I determined further visits to not be useful and have not returned in many moons.
@RedOak sadly...I've purchased 3x as many items from woot in the last 7.5 months of meh.com's existence. Just more relevant products to me - and don't get me wrong.. I hate what woot has become...but they sell stuff I need/want ... I long for meh.com to step up - believe me, I so do...
@Diablo.....I have never bought anything from there. It seems like they don't try to get the best price on one thing,,,,, they have multiple things for basic sale prices
@unixrab I'm surprised you, of all people, buy there. Certainly they have stuff we need/want, but the deficiencies are too severe:
- lower prices elsewhere (especially after shipping) - crappy customer service - crappy/inconsistent moderation - crappy warranties - often inaccurate product descriptions - mix of poor quality products is too high
@unixrab Three year Woot purchase count for us: 3 We blew by that count in the first couple months on Meh. My "fear"? What will Meh become once the startup subsidies dry up?
@RedOak I buy way more stuff from Woot than here too, even adjusting for the ratio of products on sale. Even without the Rushes, there are months I buy more stuff on DailySteals than here. From the forum comments here, it feels like a lot of people buy to resell on eBay to people who don't know about Meh. They don't actually want the products either.
@unixrab Oddly I'm in the opposite boat. If I'm looking for something in particular and am not in a rush to get it, I'll check out woot. It's a bit of overload though. It's more like a - if you're going to buy something on amazon, check on woot, check on camelcamelcamel, and then save Save SAVE!!! You know who is getting a ton of more purchases from me? Amazon... They have so much stuff.
@RedOak I searched for lower prices as I purchased the items below, even with $5 shipping it was still better than Amazon or the reputable places (sorry...I'm not buying from bobsweedandfeedandtirestore. com with zero (or bad) reviews.)
never had issues with customer service
I don't post or converse on the boards so moderation is moot
The warranties I get on my woot items are fine
I rarely read the product descriptions (I know what I'm buying)
I don't buy poor quality items
That being said: These are a representation of the things I wish I could've bought from meh.com in the last 7 months...but either they did not offer them or they offered them afterwoot.com sold me first, or, they offered inferior versions (e.g., Samsung batteries instead of Duracell):
Duracell batteries, dog treats, digital multimeter, neato robot, motion activated lights, more Duracell batteries, a nail gun/staple gun/finishing nail gun combo with air compressor, outdoor air mattress, vornado fan. All these things and their like ...
I WISH MEH.COM WOULD SELL THEM SO I COULD BUY THEM FROM MEH.COM AND BE VMP BUT THEY REFUSE TO SELL GOOD STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@smartr I purchase more from amazon.com than woot.com and more from woot.com than meh.com... I'd like to move meh.com up to 2nd place but they refuse to go find the kind of items that woot is peddling to me.
@unixrab Glad you're happy with Woot. I find little of interest there and simply prefer Amazon and others. Isn't America great? Lots of choices and something for everyone!
@RedOak Well... it's an overstatement to say I'm happy with woot. It's more accurate to say that we use each other. That being said... can we both agree that we'd both like meh-freakin-com to step it up... ? amirite??!
@curtise I have a Frigidaire with the same exact Temp control unit. That may mean it's made by the same manufacturer and say something about the quality (the Frigidaire is pretty nice).
Put this in your cube, with the foot heater, watch the power go out in the building as the system overloads. I was working at a certain supply store (easy button) a few years ago and we had to due daily checks to keep some server rooms working
1 litre dispensing tank? Why not just put a whole shitload of 1 litre bottles of whatever you want in there, so you're not limited to that one dispensing tank? Seems like a solution in search of a problem.
@saodell it looks like it might hold a couple of one liter bottles, but it's doubtful that you could keep a whole shitload of them cold in it. The tank does seem kind of gimmicky. It may be good for water. I think they were trying to think of a way to make use of awkward space at the top of the door.
@Glidde8 follow up question. Does the dispensing reservoir tank come out do it can be cleaned? Would be sweet to fill it up with a mix drink for parties.
@Moose What do you think about bottles -- 12 oz, bombers, and growlers? Honestly the photos of the insides are so cropped it feels like someone's hiding something. (Did @JonT hide his weed in it?)
It's a good price for this fridge, and for any mini fridge with a real compressor & at this size. Made Slickdeals front page at this price a little earlier this year. I don't need a mini fridge though. Somebody tell me that I don't need a mini fridge.
@Headly not that bad really. Specs claim like leaving a 35 watt light on all the time. (75 watt rating, compressor running a bit less than half the time according to the 0.849kWh/24 hour consumption spec.)
cylindrical-bejeweled-earth. Maybe now I will actually eat sandwiches for lunch instead of wasting money on fast food. And if not, then it will make a fine kegerator (maybe (I've never made one before)) for home!
Also, if you go the kegerator route, bonus points for using the existing dispenser nozzle. Through-the-door beer would be super fancy!
Oops, looked at the pics. You'll at least have to use some sort of alternative tap, looks like there's no coming out the top of this fridge without destroying it.
@Moose Just eat at Wei Tasty Asian...good deal, not wasting money, no worries about the sketchy work fridge that probably has food meant to be turned into chips anyway.
I once had a roommate who stored a stool sample for a medical test in the main house fridge. This seems like a good stool sample holding fridge to keep the main fridge from getting contaminated.
I am honestly tempted to buy this as a gift for someone but I'm going to have to sleep on it. If they are sold out in the morning then my decision's made for me.
I've been obsessed with finding the right fridge or freezer to build a kegorator, this got my hopes up... before the pictures loaded. I'll keep looking on Craigslist. BTW- Filling that water container after every 4 glasses sounds incedibly annoying.
@RedOak thanks for the idea, I'll have to keep an eye out. I've been thinking of converting a small upright freezer with a temp controller for making and serving homebrew, which would probably end up being a bit cheaper, but it's worth a look.
@belowi The water container isn't pressurized with CO2 (and probably can't hold pressure) so your beer would get flat. You COULD do what I did, and take the DIY route (it has four taps, but two kegs are clean and ready to be filled currently):
@RedOak i didn't even know they used foaming agents, much less that there could be more than one such that it needed to be specified. You learn something every day.
Man, that psychology of the $100 price point. If it was at $99 all of the sudden the deal seems to great to pass up. Like many, something I gotta sleep on. Renovating the basement and this would work well as a small bar fridge.
You meh-nsters! A retro fridge AND the company is from Green Bay? You magnificent bastards. I hope you can sleep at night on your piles of my money surrounded by many beautiful models.
Would consider purchasing this if there was no freezer compartment... those things cause too much trouble. Ice up all the time. Too small. Too much maintenance for too little function. Returned my last mini-fridge that had a freezer section and got one without. Much better. ... unless you really need 3 frozen candybars
come on man minimini fridge. Enough already. If you wanna sell usb crap, break out the weapons of intercubal warfare. There has not been a goodly dose of nerf in a long time.
Most of the offices where I've worked have a ban on putting refrigerators, heaters, and fans in your own cubicle. Potential buyers should check with their employers and/or prepare an alternate location for this fridge.
@mcanavino Root beer schnapps- I must find some! Unfortunately I live in a state that is concerned about our health and well being enough to own all of the liquor stores. They don't carry it. Road trip?
I don’t know what kind of libertarian utopia you have down in Texas but elsewhere in the United States of corporate America we have RULES. Oh, you want that office job, the 401(k), the high-deductible health plan? Well you get that and a bucketful of REGULATIONS, regulations like:
Below is a listing of items that are restricted due to fire and safety hazards. If the items are located within the work spaces, a request will be sent for the items to be removed by end of business within two business days from notification. If the item remains in the workspace, it will be removed and discarded via Security. - (other items redacted) - Personal sized refrigerators - Personal coffee/tea makers - Microwaves/Toasters - Extension cords
That’s right, extension cords are too much for the MAN to let you have. So go ahead, you bastions of employee liberty, order up the Nostalgic Electrics Series Dispensing Refrigerator and strike a blow for FREEDOM. Because here, the only thing getting chilled is our right to office electrics and the only things getting dispensed are tears of rage against the corporate machine.
@lehigh Improperly used extension cords is the number 1 item OSHA looks for in an office setting. And they are usually able to find at least one that has a power strip plugged into it or that they consider 'permanent' use.
@lehigh Whatever... I have a Tea Kettle, Hot Plate, Refrigerator, and a Soldering Iron in my office. All of them are plugged into the same extension cord which doubles as a space heater.
This just shows how bad woot has gotten. They have wiper blades today and if I would just get them straight from Amazon it would be $4.63 cheeper. So now its MORE expensive on the amazon woot.
@JonT said "zip code doesn't match credit card" as if my zip was wrong? However, When I check my bank online it shows a pending charge of $1 for 5 line items b/c i tried 5 times.
@ahackma2 I believe the authorization goes through before the address check so that's likely why, all of those charges should be refunded pretty quickly. If you live in an apartment try putting your apartment number in address line one and street address in line two and make sure to input your address exactly the way it appears on your bank statement.
@JonT I have several homes, and I usually don't want items shipped to the address where my CC bill goes. Why does the shipping address need to match the CC? Not everyone resides in just one hovel.
I got mine today, no warning. Fedex guy looked piiiiiissed. Plugged in and running great, no dented shipping or anything. Bonus: Huge exterior carton perfect for forts!
No order number yet for Fedex and no response in 24 hours from Meh.com from my email to support. Save the autobot-we'll get back to you message. Less than Meh...
Showed up dented. When I tried to pull the plastic off the Nostalgia lettering the letters came off with it. It is not quite the whisper quiet it was advertised as. When putting it together not all the drill holes lined up, so there are at least two screws that are not able to be used.
Is this a scratch and dent site or factory rejects? That is fine if it is, but that is not exactly what I thought it was.
I received my frig within a good time span but mine has a 3 inch diameter smudge in the paint job on top and a small dent with the paint scraped off where the dent is. Dent is on the back corner so if the frig works ok and I don't find anything else wrong I'll keep it vs. going through the hassle of boxing it up and sending it back. A little troubled that it does seem as though the great price seems as though you purchase damaged goods for reselling.
Now, I want to plug it in but can you please tell me if I should remove the foam cover off the cable next to the motor in the back? Please respond quickly as it's in the middle of my livingroom.
Received two fridges today, my red one seems to be okay on initial examination, but the black one is heavily damaged. An entire corner on the bottom is smashed in to the point that it created a hole. Cold pressure is negated and the unit is unusable. Sent in an email to Meh, either need a complete replacement or refund.
@haneyg It's been over a week, and I haven't heard back from Meh at all about this. Can someone please email me to initiate a return/refund? Thank you.
I think mine has a bad capacitor. The compressor is extremely hot and after a couple hours it stopped running and just started clicking. Going to let it cool over night and try again, but looks like I got a dud.
Received mine Friday afternoon. No damage to outer container, no damage to retail box, dent and paint chipped, cracked on top right front corner of cabinet. Have yet to assemble and plug in to power. Waiting for response from customer support concerning replacement. Looks like this was an unannounced "dent and scratch" sale! Too good to be true, usually is just that!
Bought two, the black one has oil soaked into the bottom cardboard packaging. Did it come from the compressor? Both have bad paint. The liquid container reeks of chemical off gassing even after soaking in baking soda solution twice overnight. I wouldn't drink anything that came out of that. Beginning to agree with others here, looks like a collection of returned and blemished units being resold. Too bad.
Anyone had a response from customer support yet? I've not had anything since their "cute" auto response minutes after I sent my message about damage last Friday. This deal is looking like another credit card dispute for Discover to sort out. Sad, I wanted this one.
@chuxmeh our CS team is answering emails as quickly as they can (in the order they're received), and unfortunately right now that's taking around 5-6 days. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer as a first step as they're handling replacements for these. Our CS team will respond as soon as they are able. Sorry our message wasn't cute enough for you :(
@JonT Thanks so much for your reply. I have a couple of observations and 1 question please. Prominently displayed on the mfrs website warranty info page is this statement. SHOULD YOUR UNIT NOT WORK OR IF DAMAGED WHEN YOU FIRST TAKE IT OUT OF THE BOX, PLEASE RETURN IT TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE IMMEDIATELY. The distributor pledges to the original owner that should there be any defects in material or workmanship during the first 90 days of purchase, we will repair or replace the unit at our option. This warranty does not apply to re-manufactured merchandise. Are these fridges remanufactured?
@JonT Well I certainly ran into trouble. I called that number after getting a reply from meh support just a while ago. The person who answered seemed to be unaware of the situation but told me that because the fridge was damaged during shipping, they would -not- offer a replacement. I wonder if chuxmeh or others here received a similar response?
@Tyalmath@JonT I found the same situation that you did Tyalmath. Cindy, in cust support at Nostalgia, said that normally they do not cover this kind of damage, but she asked for my mailing address and phone number. She called me back an hour later with the reply that she needs to check with the salesperson who sold to MEH to clarify policy in this case and she would contact me when there was an answer. @ahackma2 It wasn't FedEx in my case. Neither of the two cardboard packaging boxes showed damage, just the unit itself!
@Tyalmath@JonT Two hours after posting the above reply I received an RMA#, directions and authorization for a return and replacement from Nostalgia. They say the replacement can take up to 30 days after receipt of returned items. I'll follow up after receipt. Thanks MEH. The confusion seems to be between sales staff and customer support at Nostalgia. Short staffing at MEH also contributed to delayed response.
@chuxmeh@JonT Just wanted to update that Nostalgia contacted me again yesterday as well. As with the above post, I was given an RMA# and a form to fill out. Instead of dealing with the entire fridge, I was asked to cut the power cord and ship it to them at my own expense. Once they receive the cord and the completed form, they will start the replacement process.
@JonT Too late! You said I should contact Nostalgia. I did and they sent me clear instructions on how to proceed with my claim. I cut the cord, mailed it registered mail yesterday, set the damaged fridge on the street in front of my house before I went to work and it was not there when I got home last night. If you had let me know that you were "working with them on a better solution", I would have waited. Since Nostalgia told me this process could take up to 30 days after they received the paperwork and cord, I wanted to try to get my beer fridge that I bought three weeks ago today before "beer season" is over!
General observation about freshly delivered products that have compressors in them. . . examples: refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners . . . if they were shipped by UPS/FedEx/Trucking company rather than delivered by a local appliance "expert".
Do not immediately plug those appliances in. With the appliance sitting upright, wait several hours for the oil in the compressor to settle prior to plugging in. (For all you know, the box was laying on its side in the truck - not the best way to ship appliances with compressors in them.)
I HAD a conversation with Meh staff by email that started with no tracking numbers and two fridges on my porch for days. Then what everyone else is noting but Meh won't admit, damaged or returned goods resold as shipping box not reflective of damage inside. Now no answer after pointing out Meh warranty and Nostalgias policy for replacement. Another week goes by.
@craigcush Sorry about the frustration, our vendor shipped these in the wrong packaging (hence the damage). We're still working directly with them to figure out the most painless way for our customers to get an undamaged unit and we'll respond to everyone's emails as soon as we know what that process is. We should have done a better job ensuring this wouldn't happen, but we'll make it right. Apologies again for the trouble.
Honestly someday I'd love to be a part of the kind of grand conspiracy people seem to think we're smart enough to pull off (we're not).
Thanks JonT, person I was in convo with coulda said that or we'll get back to you.... The box thing, some of these were reboxed after damage, put in a new retail box plus a plain shipping box. So fingers pointed at those folks. No QC or let's dump these.
I thought I remembered someone saying they wanted one of these... and while its not as good a price as meh had... I noticed them over at woot in the sellout section today (April 1, 2015) no foolin'
you were part of it, with or without your knowledge. Because my screenshot shows sold as new, now customer service says they were indeed refurbs being sold as new. But making it right, as you said earlier, isn't having Nostalgia ship out more refurbs. I only post here as when I pointed this out in email to your CS, I didn't hear back. As before last week. And another weekend approaches.
Have we heard anything? What is the process to get these RMA'd? I called Nostalgia and they said to have MEH file with Angelwood, whoever that may be. I have two that are damaged on the front left bottom corner. Smashed pretty good.
So I don't see many good things about these fridges on here, but I happen to love the one that I received. It is a great little fridge. My only gripes about it like everyone else I received mine damaged. Luckily the damage is to the back and corners, so it is not very noticeable. The only other thing I can say bad about it is that it makes a clunking noise when the compressor turns on and off. It was annoying when I first got it due to it being in the same room as I sleep, but I have got used to the noise and sleep like a baby with cold drinks in the fridge!!.
@tlaughner It took over thirty emails to customer service to get my two units replaced as of today. I am almost afraid to open the much better packing boxes as proven and admitted by CS these were refurbs sold as new. Mine and others here mentioned that damage to fridge did not match packing box with no damage. Won't take bad units back as disposal of refrigerant and shipping costs. You're stuck with bad unit. I spoke with a Holly at Meh via emails. Demand a new unit.

@CrossIT is this a sex joke? I read it as a sex joke.
Let me get this right, IRK can fit in the fridge.......Interesting
it is curious that this was just on wootwithin the last two months
@CrossIT that it was...at $129.99

@CrossIT yes
@studerc don't forget $5 to ship it!

$100??? Really?
@RogerWilco I know, right? Killer deal!
@RogerWilco the co$t of Nostalgia
Nostalgia? Are there even people alive old enough to be "nostalgic" about this meh? And of those, how many like cheap plastic?
It doesn't even purple.
@giroro yes
@giroro no purple :(
@VeeDubTDI I love purple.
Better price than on them other guys... http://home.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=6158647&ref=cnt_odet_jtd
For the record, this is a REAL FRIDGE WITH COMPRESSOR, not a powered cooler thingamabob like most of the historic-looking small fridges you can buy.
@curtise I have a Frigidaire with the same exact Temp control unit. That may mean it's made by the same manufacturer and say something about the quality (the Frigidaire is pretty nice).
So far today...
We sold 766 of these.
1 clicked meh.
That's $11721 total.
Really?! Huh. I'm the only meh in a sea of people who want a fridge.
@njd stats usually take a few minutes to rollover.
If I had enough food to justify it, this would be great for my dorm
I knew after seeing this on sale at frys electronics, it would be on here very soon... just didn't think 4 days soon.... still... I kinda want it
I think the idea is cool, but in reality, I would be much too lazy to refill the tank.
Today's deal is brought to you by William "Refrigerator" Perry
@matapat Old school nice
Irk has bunny feet! It's a miracle!
Seriously, I'd love this, but it is forbidden to have personal electric appliances where I work. Damn you, @BillLehecka.
Put this in your cube, with the foot heater, watch the power go out in the building as the system overloads. I was working at a certain supply store (easy button) a few years ago and we had to due daily checks to keep some server rooms working

How many 12oz cans do this hold? Would a thirty fit? Looking for a good beer fridge for the basement...
@Glidde8 follow up question. Does the dispensing reservoir tank come out do it can be cleaned? Would be sweet to fill it up with a mix drink for parties.
@Glidde8 Good question. It could probably fit 30 cans but I didn't get to test that. The tank can be removed and cleaned though.
@Glidde8 I've got a fridge of a similar size at my office and 30 cans should be no problem. I believe I have had multiple cases in mine.
@Moose What do you think about bottles -- 12 oz, bombers, and growlers? Honestly the photos of the insides are so cropped it feels like someone's hiding something. (Did @JonT hide his weed in it?)
In Amazon questions:
Oh god....I gotta have one of those Irks. Please. Name your reasonable price.
@irishbyblood I'll go reasonable price + $2.00 for it.
@MrMark I'd go tree-fiddy. Maybe in a fukubukuro?
It's a good price for this fridge, and for any mini fridge with a real compressor & at this size. Made Slickdeals front page at this price a little earlier this year. I don't need a mini fridge though. Somebody tell me that I don't need a mini fridge.
@march5th00 you need 2. one in each color.
how many pickle jars of kimchi will this hold?
@mehtroid 12, 16, or 32oz pickle jars?
@JonT mostly gallon(64oz) mt olive but a couple 32oz(vlasic) tallboys for single napas... just wondering if this could work as a cheap dimchae
@mehtroid @jont ...wouldn't they be kimchi jars?
@unixrab I don't think Mt Olive sells Kimchi, he must be storing his own?
@RedHot Mt Olive Pickle Kimchi jars.... too much
@mehtroid 64oz is 1/2 gallon
@unixrab better yet, Mt Olive Jalapeno Pickle Kimchi jars!
@tightwad
Seems like an electricity vampire. But it might be a good place to store my smallpox collection - keeping it in the house fridge worries the wife.
@Headly not that bad really. Specs claim like leaving a 35 watt light on all the time. (75 watt rating, compressor running a bit less than half the time according to the 0.849kWh/24 hour consumption spec.)

@Moose you're too good for the office fridge?
@Moose how long does it take to deliver to your office?
Also, if you go the kegerator route, bonus points for using the existing dispenser nozzle. Through-the-door beer would be super fancy!
Oops, looked at the pics. You'll at least have to use some sort of alternative tap, looks like there's no coming out the top of this fridge without destroying it.
@JonT The short answer is yes.
@Moose Just eat at Wei Tasty Asian...good deal, not wasting money, no worries about the sketchy work fridge that probably has food meant to be turned into chips anyway.
@alacrity Herkelese! Herkelese! Herkelese!
So cute! I totally want this, but I can't justify spending the money right now. If anyone wants to buy it for me though... (red is my favorite color)
@christinerenee wise
I once had a roommate who stored a stool sample for a medical test in the main house fridge. This seems like a good stool sample holding fridge to keep the main fridge from getting contaminated.
@jjohns71 And if they're loose stool samples, you have that handy dispenser at your disposal!
@jjohns71 @djslack
I am honestly tempted to buy this as a gift for someone but I'm going to have to sleep on it. If they are sold out in the morning then my decision's made for me.
@sinless f8 m8
@unixrab Please qualify your pronouns...you're going to have to sleep on the refrigerator? Weird...
@clarinetbob ...YOU EXCEEDING TRIFLING WITLING, CONSIDERING RANTING CRITICIZING CONCERNING ADOPTING FITTING WORDING BEING EXHIBITING TRANSCENDING LEARNING, ARE DISPLAYING, NOTWITHSTANDING RIDICULING, SURPASSING BOASTING SWELLING REASONING, RESPECTING CORRECTING ERRING WRITING, AND TOUCHING DETECTING DECEIVING ARGUING DURING DEBATING!!!
@unixrab You are all ing'ed out...
@clarinetbob effing right
I've been obsessed with finding the right fridge or freezer to build a kegorator, this got my hopes up... before the pictures loaded. I'll keep looking on Craigslist.
BTW- Filling that water container after every 4 glasses sounds incedibly annoying.
@belowi try your local Costco. Ours sells one. Not cheap tho. No where near this price.
@RedOak thanks for the idea, I'll have to keep an eye out. I've been thinking of converting a small upright freezer with a temp controller for making and serving homebrew, which would probably end up being a bit cheaper, but it's worth a look.
@belowi yah, I've been tempted by those pretty slick digital temp controllers - pretty cheap at less than 18 bucks.
@belowi The water container isn't pressurized with CO2 (and probably can't hold pressure) so your beer would get flat. You COULD do what I did, and take the DIY route (it has four taps, but two kegs are clean and ready to be filled currently):
@grum Well done Grum!
That is an impressively detailed list of specs. Try to find half that many specs listed for the cube fridge at your local Worst Buy.
@RedOak I particularly liked the mention of cyclopentane. The foaming agent is always a stat I check when buying a gimmicky mini fridge.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cyclopentane3D.png
@RedOak i didn't even know they used foaming agents, much less that there could be more than one such that it needed to be specified. You learn something every day.
@RedOak Hey thanks buddy, I appreciate it!
@RedOak 1x Ice scraper. Hasn't winter been bad enough for many of us that no one wants to have to use another one of these for a long, long time?
Man, that psychology of the $100 price point. If it was at $99 all of the sudden the deal seems to great to pass up. Like many, something I gotta sleep on. Renovating the basement and this would work well as a small bar fridge.
@studerc as you know, meh doesn't play games. Not pricing games anyway.
@studerc Think of it this way! For you? They are selling it at a steal at $99 (plus a small 99¢ deposit (plus 1¢ handling fee)).
You meh-nsters! A retro fridge AND the company is from Green Bay? You magnificent bastards. I hope you can sleep at night on your piles of my money surrounded by many beautiful models.
I want it but have no where to put it. Sob/cry
Man Cave Brew Machine
Ahh, Man!! Food AND Irk not included???
Waaaaa!!!
I cancelled my order. Good luck to whoever gets mine with the dent in it.
For those who didn't click through to the woot thread, i wouldn't want you to miss out on this gem of a "review":
@djslack hmmm... I think the refrigerator actually narrated that itself...
Would consider purchasing this if there was no freezer compartment... those things cause too much trouble. Ice up all the time. Too small. Too much maintenance for too little function. Returned my last mini-fridge that had a freezer section and got one without. Much better. ... unless you really need 3 frozen candybars
@unixrab Ben. And. Jerry's.
@katylava ... well..don't store it too long - or it will preserved and encased in a mini-glacier for all time
Cubical "walls" are not constructed with this kind of electrical load in mind. A small fire lead to a company-wide ban on personal refrigerators.
@notsoshyjan that's what happens when you build your office in minecraft... Cubical walls.
If the specs are right, 75W isn't much of a load. Heaters can run 900-1500W.
@notsoshyjan "led" or "leads" ?
@djslack and most offices ban space heaters in cubicles for that very reason
Oo! With the landline phones I said nostalgia was "in" and I was right! Meh!
I see you TX and PA. As always California is coming out strong.
Where you at Ohio?
come on man minimini fridge.
@jtlynn23 alternate job also works
@snapster That too. :)
@jtlynn23 That's why they're here for 100 bucks
Hmm,. would be nice as a small beer fridge.
I had root beer schnapps and Arbor Mist wine in my dorm fridge.
My tastes have improved since then.
@mcanavino Root beer schnapps- I must find some! Unfortunately I live in a state that is concerned about our health and well being enough to own all of the liquor stores. They don't carry it. Road trip?
@sammydog01 Let's go!
It was as good and as horrible as it sounds. That was in Winona, MN where they do no care about your well-being.
@mcanavino Next week I'm travelling to Maryland where they appreciate the free market economy. I'll let you know if I succeed.
@sammydog01 i got some root beer moonshine a few weeks ago. That's the real free market at work. It was delicious!
@djslack Yum!
@sammydog01 Really, skip the Schnapps and find yourself some of this: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24798/86622/ Tastes just like root beer
@bruceoite I've liked this one from Sprecher:
@bruceoite Their website says it's not available within 100 miles of me. Bummer.
@editorkid Sprecher is alright. After having Small Batch, I am not going back.
@sammydog01 Sounds like it is time for you to move.
My order number for this refrigerator is....disgusted-necrotic-sushi? These refrigerators DO work, right?
@fait Thank you for not posting a Google Image.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
@jrwofuga This guy here is picky about his shades of red.
I don’t know what kind of libertarian utopia you have down in Texas but elsewhere in the United States of corporate America we have RULES. Oh, you want that office job, the 401(k), the high-deductible health plan? Well you get that and a bucketful of REGULATIONS, regulations like:
@lehigh @ALLCAPS @spacezorro This is what it looks like under my desk, I don't see the problem:
But my office fridge comes with fun notes, named sodas, and other good freebies that magically appear.
@Jamison I know right! The fridge fairy left me some "John" sandwich and an "Amy" Diet Coke this morning! I love the fridge fairy!
@ALLCAPS My favorite notes are the who-done-its... like a real life mystery novel
@ALLCAPS This is why drinks with my name on them have a chance of containing Ipecac...
33" is just about 4" too tall for my cube. The fridge is a lie!!!!!!!!!!
@Clarkent No worries - readily solvable:
Tempted to get one for camping.
This just shows how bad woot has gotten. They have wiper blades today and if I would just get them straight from Amazon it would be $4.63 cheeper. So now its MORE expensive on the amazon woot.
won't let me buy this thing :((
maybe they made a glitch on purpose b/c they sold too many?
@ahackma2 yeah that would be crazy, even for us...what's the issue you're having when trying to buy?
@JonT said "zip code doesn't match credit card" as if my zip was wrong? However, When I check my bank online it shows a pending charge of $1 for 5 line items b/c i tried 5 times.
@ahackma2 I believe the authorization goes through before the address check so that's likely why, all of those charges should be refunded pretty quickly. If you live in an apartment try putting your apartment number in address line one and street address in line two and make sure to input your address exactly the way it appears on your bank statement.
@JonT There is a little status bar that got to 100% almost then at 99.9% it kept being rejected
@ahackma2 fixed it! thanks
@ahackma2 awesome! Hope you like the fridge.
@ahackma2 congratulations on the 5 fridges!
@JonT I have several homes, and I usually don't want items shipped to the address where my CC bill goes. Why does the shipping address need to match the CC? Not everyone resides in just one hovel.
@eyewerks It doesn't. I have items shipped to either my work or my wife's work all of the time. Both are in a different zip code than my billing zip.
Does this fridge have a latch? Or is the handle just molded to look like that?
In for a black laboring-possessive-centipede for the man cave. The dispenser will be great for the rum.
cool
I ordered one when will it ship?
@zomja you'll have a tracking number at https://meh.com/orders when it ships and you should also receive an email with your tracking information.
@JonT I ordered one as well and still has not shipped? It was paid for on 3/5/15. Can you help me research my order? @zomja
I ordered one as well and still has not shipped? It was paid for on 3/5/15. Can you help me research my order? @zomja
@ahackma2 @zomja We're looking into why these haven't shipped yet, we'll figure it out and let you know.
@JonT would you mind looking into my order as well?
@tlaughner will do, we'll them out as soon as we figure things out.
@JonT Great thanks!!
I am also in the same boat, would like a shipping update
@kevlo911 Sitll have not shipped mine. And you?
mine has not shipped but hopefully it will because I really need it
@seemaurer Still hasn't shipped. Has your order shipped?
@ahackma2 no not yet
I got mine today, no warning. Fedex guy looked piiiiiissed. Plugged in and running great, no dented shipping or anything. Bonus: Huge exterior carton perfect for forts!
I got a message from FedEx saying a package will arrive on Thursday. The invoice number coincides with this order.
After seeing the comment by @stupidrobot I just checked FedEx and sure enough, it looks like mine will be delivered today.
You can look it up by using FedEx Track by reference. Go here: https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?action=altref&cntry_code=us
Enter your order number into the reference number box. Choose your country and put in your zip. It should pull up your shipment!
I got mine today. Yippee!
No order number yet for Fedex and no response in 24 hours from Meh.com from my email to support. Save the autobot-we'll get back to you message. Less than Meh...
@craigcush looked into this for you earlier and by the time I tracked down the issue it looks like it was delivered, sorry for the confusion.
@briansneed1 Mine has 2 dent as well? Now I'm scared to take off the plastic that has the letters...
@briansneed1 @ahackma2 sorry about that, go ahead and contact our customer support team.
Thank you,
Received two fridges today, my red one seems to be okay on initial examination, but the black one is heavily damaged.
Thank you.
@haneyg Meh CS got back to me, they are sending me a return label.
Damn, Meh shipped to the wrong address. Someone might have gotten a nice new fridge.
Too bad.
Haven't gotten an answer if this oil under the compressor is an leakage? Does it need to be replaced, the oil or the fridge? Thank you
Anyone had a response from customer support yet?
@chuxmeh Meh listed it as Condition: New
@chuxmeh sorry I couldn't get an answer for you on this today, I'll check on that and get back to you as soon as we have more info.
@JonT Thanks JonT. Any answer yet? Who is responsible for replacement, MEH or manufacturer and are these remans or new as sold?
@chuxmeh just got a response on this, go ahead and give Nostalgia a call at 920-347-9122 and let us know if you run into any trouble.
@Tyalmath @chuxmeh
sorry about that, we'll get it worked out and I'll let you know the next step.
@Tyalmath @JonT I found the same situation that you did Tyalmath.
@Tyalmath @JonT Two hours after posting the above reply I received an RMA#, directions and authorization for a return and replacement from Nostalgia. They say the replacement can take up to 30 days after receipt of returned items. I'll follow up after receipt. Thanks MEH. The confusion seems to be between sales staff and customer support at Nostalgia. Short staffing at MEH also contributed to delayed response.
@chuxmeh @JonT Just wanted to update that Nostalgia contacted me again yesterday as well. As with the above post, I was given an RMA# and a form to fill out. Instead of dealing with the entire fridge, I was asked to cut the power cord and ship it to them at my own expense. Once they receive the cord and the completed form, they will start the replacement process.
@Tyalmath @chuxmeh yeah, don't do that -- the cord thing. We're still working with them on a better solution.
@Tyalmath @JonT If what I've seen in movies is true, you should only cut off and send them pieces if you're demanding ransom.
@RedOak If you didn't do this, don't worry, it's not a huge deal, just better for the long term health of the appliance.
Perhaps it wasn't FedEx who damaged the products....These could have been sold as "refurbished" to 3rd parties with the damaged disclosed.
I noticed them over at woot in the sellout section today (April 1, 2015) no foolin'
http://sellout.woot.com/
you were part of it, with or without your knowledge.
@SUNMANX see my answer next post down. And elsewhere
Hi everybody!
My name is Susana Barker, i am an engineer. I like high-tech, with the best designed refrigerator for my house. Thank for this article, so helpful!
I love also affiliate marketing, and refrigerators. Remember refrigerators? Keep spam cold. High-tech. Marketing. Helpful.
