62025 is coming to a close and whether that’s a plus or not is up to you. That does mean @caffeineguy’s reign is coming to an end and it’s time to nominate a new goat for the new year!

@therealjrn I suspect that they turned off the email notifications on their way out (or before). Given the announced departure, there seems to be a nonzero probability that this rein will be held by a ghoast.

I’m not the arbiter of the anointing, but I will toss in the observation that @somf69 appears likely to be silent as goat-elect.
But clearly, the electorate has spoken. And pretty much just as clearly, the candidate has not.
An alternate solution has been proposed above, but it would lie outside of the normal process. Does that matter? I take no position.
There is always the option of just chucking it, but I don’t think we’ve reached that point yet.
