New Syma X5C-1 for Xmas!
1New to the world of quads and I have to say -- I love it! Still getting the hang of flying, but it's a blast. I have discovered the need for more batteries and just ordered more. I can see this being an expensive hobby as I get better at control/flying . . . wanting to get the bigger quads . . . : )

@Xena67, welcome! Many of us started with the trusty X5C. It's a great starter to get comfortable with flying. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your videos!
@Xena67, come on down! The X5C was the first one I flew; in fact I liked it so much I've replaced it four times--they'd get caught in the wind and were out of range before I could coordinate my control enough to bring them back--scattered down the canyon behind my house. Now I'm more careful to only fly on really calm days...
The one I bought for my kid came without a battery, is this normal? I believe it isn't, as it came wrapped in plastic wrap with a li-ion warning.
@Ecriscit It depends on the vendor. Chinese sellers were having issues with common carriers and/or customs agencies rejecting shipments based on safety concerns with lithium based batteries, so some vendors started removing batteries from R/C kits. GearBest in particular was doing this regularly, but other Chinese sellers as well.
