Necropost time capsule. Aug 2020
8Ok. Because I’ve been guilty of necroposting a few times when spammers have brought old threads back from dead I thought about creating a post intended to be necroposted to. A time capsule.
Place three items in the necropost time capsule that explains the current day for you, and let’s dig this post back up in August of 2021 and see if anything’s changed.
Items can be generic news related… Or something personal happening in your life at the moment.
For me.
Item 1 (because of pandemic, will pandemic be over in a year)

@ELUNO @RiotDemon I have a Covid beard. It used to be my wife didn’t like me growing a beard so I stayed shaven. Now my beard has grown in she “won’t let me shave”… Lol
@ELUNO @OnionSoup @RiotDemon I shaved my long-time beard and mustache off last week. I was getting tired of looking homeless. ha ha
@RiotDemon beard is mixture of both. I look terrible when first starting it off so I took advantage.
Hair is all covid. Don’t want to risk it if I don’t really have to.

@ELUNO @RiotDemon @therealjrn yes. Several other times I’ve grown beards she complained, not about the look, but about the scratchiness. I have pretty thick hair so, even after growing for 5 or 6 weeks it’s still a little scratchy.
Now my beard has been growing a little longer she loves how it looks and feels and told me I’m not allowed to shave it… I will eventually anyway.

And finally, my 3rd item. This black cat will no longer have his balls but he will get bigger and still love his sister, who will remain a barren spinster cat.

@therealjrn So my next-door neighbor bought a brother-sister pair of purebred Mastiffs a while back. The breeder required her sign an agreement to not neuter/spay them in the first year, until they reach sexual maturity. Apparently, there is a theory that it improves their health as they age. So right now is the adolescent doggies’ introduction to “the birds and the bees” and the neighbor is having to keep the giant doofuses apart for a few weeks until they regain their sanity.
Man, I appreciate my rescue mutts!

@RiotDemon @therealjrn I think the theory is that the hormones of puberty help their hips/saddle develop stronger, decreasing the chance that they will develop the problems so common to the huge/inbred breeds later. Or at least, that’s what I remember of what she said. High maintenance pets, IMHO. They are big sweet old goofballs, but all that drool! Yuck.
@macromeh @RiotDemon @therealjrn that is what a vet told me years ago. His rule of thumb was seven months as it allowed the doggy time to get enough hormones to be strong and healthy

Also avoids any risk of prostate [and more obviously testicular] cancer for the boyos.
…and with giant breed doggos, menstruation is not something you can ignore, lest permanent blood stains mar your furniture, floors, etc.
We had 2 Newfie-gurls and they needed menstrual panties and pads each month until we could get them spade or what ever.
I found out, today, that someone I thought was a very good friend, really isn’t one. This person hurt me so much. Why do people do this to others?
I have a decision to make next Friday about my medical future. I hope I make the right one.
Maybe by this time next year, I will have sold my mother’s house. I can’t begin to describe how much energy it takes trying to keep her house from falling apart under my feet. I spend so much of my time worrying about it.
@Barney I understand about the house. It’s probably bitter-sweet but in my case we had to wait until my sis was ready to deal with stuff.
I have ever confidence you’ll make the right decision about your health matters.
Mine have kinda been made for me. A couple-three years ago, I didn’t expect to be alive for much longer.

I had forgot about this.
So my three items.
Masks for Pandemic. Still going. Started wearing mask again despite vaccine because of Delta.
Rats. Daughter still loves her rats… Needs to clean cages more often.
I am not necetoposting much any more! A combination of being careful (and too busy to post) has been protecting me from that faux pas).
Going to put all three back in the vault for now. Perhaps replace the last item with an empty wine Bottle because I’ve been making a lot of wine lately.
