My VMP was canceled even though I updated my info
12So I guess after visiting the Meh page for 309 days in a row, making 44 orders in that time frame and being a vocal( albeit outside the internet) supporter of Meh they decided to cancel my VMP account. Was that $5 shipping really kicking them in the ass so much?

Same thing happened to me. I noticed three days ago, and I’m still waiting hear back from Meh about it.
I’ve already missed on two things I would have bought, but didn’t because of the shipping charges. I would also buy tonight’s heater as well, but not with the shipping charges…
You are not alone. Found out with an order last week.
I’d say buy and if you can get vmp back ask for shipping to be refunded as monthly vmp.

Did you all update your info lately? Maybe it’s a glitch. Seems possible that since there are no new VMPs allowed the system that updates payment info cancels your old membership, tries to make a new one, then gets told “nope, no new memberships.”
If that’s the case, I’m sure you’ll get it back soon.
@PantHeist In the meantime, we have to watch them do the Full Monty.

Having a few probs. Got an email that my card wouldn’t charge for VMP. Went to VMP to look at the history of payments. Uh oh. Error terribly wrong page. Tried to save a new card JIC. Card would not save.
Also my VMP card does not appear to be the same as my default payment card. So what’s going on?

Your VMP payment failed on 3/9.
It worked fine when we retried on 3/10. Looks like same card you’ve been using since July 2015.

My CC company just added a chip to my card. The CC # is the same but the exp. date has changed. Am worried I will lose my VMP when I update the exp. date!

First time to have a chip in one of these cards and hear they are a pain in the ass!
@fjp999 It’s a bit surprising you haven’t run into smartchip cards previously. I think all of ours have been converted for at least 6+ months.
Their payment approval process can be painfully slow. Processors are getting better tho.
Amazing to us - that Costco still does not require them in their terminals since they improve security. (Another advantage to SAMs - not sharing the germs of everyone who interacted with the cashier since Costco also requires you to hand over your card… and of course the SAMs Scan & Go app means you don’t even have to wait in checkout lines!)
…BTW, have you noticed some folks hold their cards in their mouths when their arms are full?

@RedOak I am more of a cash/debit card person & only have 1 CC card which is getting the chip now. Not sure about the timing.
I have noticed people being very odd about what they consider full of germs. I had a friend stay over. She uses her phone all the time & everywhere. You can see it is filthy! I use a clean dish towel to dry dishes & my friend was in shock about me spreading germs. Later I went on a gov page to find I was correct. When one has too many dishes to let them air dry it is OK to towel dry with a fresh towel.
I also read that most smart phones carry more germs than a toilet door handle (those door handles are usually cleaned more often than phones)!
@fjp999 I got a new debit card with a chip last year.
I only use cash when I have to. I use my Amazon credit card most of the time, but I use Discover if I’m shopping wherever their 5% cash back is that quarter. Since I can’t imagine Discover could get away with charging any merchant 5% on a transaction, I think that means they are losing money when I use my card. Poor them.
My new Amazon Visa is odd in that all it’s got on the front are my name, the name of the card, and the chip. No card number, no expiration date, not date I got the card. So it won’t work with a manual imprinter, but I can’t remember the last time I saw one, and I can always use another card for that.
The most annoying thing about chip readers is that they keep saying “do not remove” card, until it’s time to removed the card, and then they start making a loud “removed your damned card” beeping noise.
I understand that they don’t want people to forget and leave their cards in the things, but how about a nice “ding” and five or ten seconds before the annoying “beep beep beep”?
Guess I better check…

Your VMP subscription renewed on 2/23. When we tried to charge your card it was declined.
After that failure you should have received an email to update your default payment setting. We tried again on 2/24, 2/25, and 2/26. After the 4th attempt, your VMP subscription was canceled. You updated your card 12 days later, but it was too late.
Here’s what that automation looks like in our logs:
I went ahead and manually subscribed you back to VMP with the card you setup on 3/10. Hope that helps.
