It’s like Google, except instead of giving your info to a company, stuff about you is being given to people far far away who are printing things out about you before you get the food so that by the time you order and get the food, the slip of paper is in this country.

Two men were walking through the woods when a large bear
walked out into the clearing no more than 50 feet in front of them.
The first man dropped his backpack and dug out a pair of running
shoes, then began to furiously attempt to lace them up as the bear
slowly approached them. The second man looked at the first,
confused, and said, “What are you doing? Running shoes aren’t
going to help, you can’t outrun that bear.” “I don’t need to,” said
the first man, “I just need to outrun you.”
@huja Key word cooked. I don’t eat much salad in the winter, even in the summer I like cooked veggies better than raw ones. Nope, no Trader Joes. We have a Sprouts and a Whole Foods, but both are about a 15 minute drive away. And getting food from them is a lot more work than the 2 minutes it takes to grab a $4 large side of freshly wokked mixed veggies from Panda, and that much cooked veggies would cost a lot more at Whole Foods (aka “Whole Paycheck”)
@moondrake Trader Joe’s has washed and trimmed veg in bags ready to cook. I’m big on cooking my own food for the sake of QC and control over salt, sugar, fat, etc. I bought a wok some years back to get veg cooked quickly. I’ll steam veg too. Right now a household favorite is steamed baby zucchini from Trader Joes. Only takes 3 minutes to steam.
@huja Yeah, I’m over Whole Foods and I think a lot of people are in the boat. It’s a brave new world for getting good produce. Lots of places have high quality stuff. Not like the days I lived in the Midwest with pretty much carrots and iceberg lettuce.
Thought you were more of an axe man?
@djslack I was, but now I’m thinking the fates have a different plan for me.

@woodhouse – grab the link that has the .jpg at the end and it will display in the forum.
@mikibell Thanks for the tip! I’m still a forum n00b.

Mehdown slash commands.
@PlacidPenguin thank you… now I don’t have to go find those posts…
@mikibell
You’re welcome.
I have shortcuts to them on my phone for just this scenario.
Friends don’t let friends eat at Panda Express.
@huja
Friends don’t let friends get eaten by pandas.
@PlacidPenguin Friends don’t let friends have friend who are too slow-footed to outrun lethargic pandas.
@huja
A bit irrelevant:

@PlacidPenguin I’ve repeated this joke as a metaphor in the past.
@huja
A lot of jokes are based on truths which occurred at once point but were fated to only be remembered as jokes.
@PlacidPenguin Seriously guys, we can all do better than eating at PX.
@huja
I don’t really do takeout.
What’s wrong with Panda Express?
@PlacidPenguin It’s the Taco Bell of
Chinese food.
@huja
What’s wrong with Taco Bell?
I constantly see complaints about their food, but no details.
@huja It’s the only place I can get a generous serving of fresh cooked vegetables to go.
@moondrake bagged/washed lettuce? Do you have Trader Joe’s close by?

@huja Don’t hate on PE. It’s literally 2 minutes from the office, and I don’t know this area.
We got pad thai from a local place today. ARE YOU HAPPY?
@woodhouse overjoyed.
@woodhouse hey! I like physical education too! Prevents high obesity rates in a developing (or otherwise) America
@legendornothing The dichotomy between Panda Express and Physical Education is jarring.
My fortune from last night at Phoenix Palace restaurant. Flattery will not improve your tip.
@moondrake @ least it didn’t say outstanding generosity!
You know the traditional add the words “in bed” to any fortune cookie. Well this sounds painful.
Oh Well…
@mfladd
I’d complain that the ink is tilted at a slight angle.
@PlacidPenguin this appears to be photoshopped, I’ve seen a few shops in my time. I can tell because of the pixels.
@woodhouse @mfladd
Maybe it was a low-res printer.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@PlacidPenguin Does it come with ink?
@woodhouse
Officially yes, as per the list of what’s included in the box according to the box.
@PlacidPenguin Boxes can’t be trusted.
In my head, the voice reading the fortune cookie always sounds like James Hong.
