I want a decade that lacks ripped pants, “long” sleeves that aren’t, fake pockets, that horrible sweatbox polyester that still keeps showing up, rayon disguised as “viscose”, holes in the shoulders of tops…
1980s home theater components where everything is sharp right angles and brushed metal and the whole front panel is covered with as much meaningless text as possible.
Art Deco and mid century modern, I love real wood (non painted) and clean lines. I would love to find an old Tudor house with its it’s original wood molding unpainted.
It’s interesting that when referring to “aesthetics”, some people’s minds went to architecture, while I interpreted the question such that aesthetics implied fashion: clothes, hair styles, jewelry, etc.
Even though I have zero interest in fashion (sneakers, T-Shirts and shorts almost year-round, except when hoodies and jeans enter the mix in the colder months), I would not have even considered architecture, even though its certainly a valid interpretation of the question.
100s.
Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras; so
@Kyeh this!!!
@Kyeh This is what I came in to say.
@Kyeh
@Kyeh Yes some of the furniture, silver trays, etc. are really lovely - especially Art Nouveau. Art Deco is less graceful and flowing.
@Kidsandliz I do love the sinuous flowing organic look of Art Nouveau, but Art Deco is elegant.
@Kidsandliz @Kyeh Art Deco is my favorite. Love the clean lines and angles.

Yeah, I know, keep on dreaming.
@werehatrack yeah and jeans that don’t have that stretch shit in them. Give me back good old blue jean material. In addition it lasts longer too.

@brennyn Better to have some possibly-decipherable text than some of the helpy little icons that are entirely impossible to decode.
1920s
1880s
The 2030s
But really, anything but the '70s.
