As an extremely drunk person who would have been tempted to buy a home beer brewing kit, I appreciate your honesty. You may have lost me on this particular sale, but I’ll be back over and over again to buy shit I don’t really need because I trust you.
Pretty much matches up with my experience; the “stout” is more like a very light schwarzbier. That’s due to the rather wussy malt content - a guinness stout clone is going to have around 1.5 pounds of malt/gallon, and that itty-bitty 1.87lb container of syrup for 2.5gl just doesn’t cut it.
Bud light stout? Anheuser Busch made that for a while around 2003. I don’t remember what it was called - I tasted it at their plant in St. Louis and it was…not aggressively bad.
Actually it was damn disappointing given the number of good beers being sold these days. Exactly the analysis above - good beer start and no bottom. I don’t think I’d brew it on my own.
I loved this video and the reviewers were so damn likeable that I am not completely turned off buying this to try it out. I think, especially for the price, that this would be an interesting experience to add to my “Things I’ve Done” list.
As a beer guy, I am totally against beer reviews and rankings. All beer is good, and everybody experiences it differently. There’s a beer for each situation.
Had you told the reviewers that this beer was specially brewed limited edition ultra micro nano craft series extreme – they’d probably rate it differently.
How does one apply to be on the tasting panel?
I’m tasting one right now.
oof. Surprised meh posted that review.
Finally. Part 3.
So… Mediocre beer with a C average.
It’s not a mistake. Glowing review!
Can’t fool me, it says “staff” right there on the front on Randys sweatshirt.
New end card!

Posted this on product thread, but still;
@PlacidPenguin Deeply appreciated from someone who played the original Bard’s Tale as a kid!
Impressed by the honesty of this.

These people are just darling! I mean, in the video. On the forum, too. But especially in the video.
“Not aggressively bad”. That’s one of the top beer review comments ever.

This review confirms my expectation.

Agreed… “Not aggressively bad” is the best comment ever.
This review video really helped me make my purchase decision!
