Yeah, the older I get (and I’m still young) the now I see “modern” as a detriment. Take modern design. Buildings/furniture/etc that looked modern in the 60s/70s/80s now look dated because they look like they’re from the 60s/70s/80s.
If you just focus on classic designs that are proven to be timeless, your things will look timeless. If a company advertises they aren’t going with what’s always worked, that means what they’re doing isn’t going to be as good as what’s always worked.
They should probably call it “old-timey fit” for the days when people did a lot more manual labor & a lot less eating of junk/fast food.
