15Hard to believe I got mine first, being in Michigan, but didn’t see a reveal topic for the mid April IRKs.

Thanks to meh for a chance to instantly regret the kit I received in MI.
Along with the items in the kit, I also get a mystery to solve. The last item is some sort of protective cover that has elastic straps for two corners, adjustable clip straps, a zipper, and a hook and loop strip for some sort of a pass-through.

You’ll have to tell me how the inflatable lounge is, I want one but I don’t want it to be crappy.
@tinamarie1974 I tried a google image search, and it looks like it could be some sort of pet blanket for the car.
@Star2236 We had one in the past that was okay. It took a LOT to get it to fill up, and it would deflate for adults, but the kids liked it until they put a hole in it.
This is “the original” though, so maybe it’ll be easier/stay inflated longer.
I will say, that the liner was pulled out on one side. I kind of tucked it back in, but my hopes are not high for this one.

Have you tried another brand that you would recommend or are these the only ones?
@Star2236 The only other one I tried was a brand called CloudLounger that I got from a WebsiteOfOrdinarilydailyiTems back in 2016. It lasted a few summers. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert on them.
I just know we had a hard time inflating ours, even when we thought there was adequate wind. Kind of like how it feels really gusty until you try to get a kite to stay up. Filling the other one up was like that.

Some of y’all know me, but I am not here often, sorry to say. I was an Irk virgin, but no more. I got one damn heavy box.
Inside were two silicone smart phone stands, a Groovy Orange Irk Bag, a USB cable, and a Just In Time 3 in 1 phone charger. But the weight of the box was due to Superstar Monster Blaster Bluetooth speaker. Are you kidding me?

@seraphimcaduto Even LCD & LED TV’s w/ cracked screens have some value. The Main Board, Power Supply, WiFi modules and other parts can be salvaged and resold. I only know this because I did TV repair for 10+ years until the low prices drove the company out of business. Cheaper now to buy a new TV than repair 'em!

@ethelthefrog Those flashlights are pretty good. I bought some for the “everyone gets a flashlight for a christmas gift” (we, unfortunately, have not cut back on gifts to adults for a couple of years running I have cheaply met those extended family expectations through here) If the beam is weak I think, if I recall correctly, you can replace the rechargeable battery.
@Kidsandliz Thanks for the tip. I’ll test the brightness once it gets dark. I noticed that the front pops up to make a lantern and it has a magnet. Not too shabby.

At least in the past Newgistics sends stuff to hubs (the one mine gets parked at is in Greenwood?, IN so headed north 700 or so miles and then have to head south that many all over again as the long sides of a triangle). Then it gets handed off to USPS and delivered by them. The weight listing went away when meh started using this shipping method. If you got lucky and yours is shipped fedex maybe you won the lottery and got something really cool.

@duodec @Kidsandliz @Seeds I have not seen that? FedEx seems to be honoring its parcel contracts for domestic and global locations with the addition of a surcharge due to Covid. Generally medical supplies to fight Covid are exempt from the surcharge. Intl air freight, however, is a different story as you mentioned.

The short version is just open the thing up, tear out the circuit board, and hardwire the fan on.
Simple, brutal, effective. Definitely voids the warranty.
Don’t even think about it if you don’t know which end of a soldering iron to hold.

Mine was the most regrettable one I’ve ever had (but can’t complain because others were good)
Mine came in a beat up box with the tape untaped and wide open. Instant migraine on opening mine (leaking poo pouri… That kind of thing always gives me migraines).
Inside was an ugly orange purse, poo pouri and a black meh bag. All items and bag soaking in poo pouri. I told kids to take box away from me, I can’t go near any of it without pain.
I think my 11 year old liked the ugly orange purse at least though.
Easily the weakest Irk or mystery box type item I’ve ever received… Two cheapo items covered in migraine juice… meh…
But as I said, can’t complain really, I’ve had good irks in the past. This is only one I really regretted.

Covid, everything is different, yadda yadda. Maybe next time actually have the contents filled and amount of IRKs known versus, seemingly, filling the orders throughout a few weeks of crap the warehouse workers discovered was trash because they sold too many.

Knew I was in trouble when I saw the box was small enough to be delivered in one of the lockers beneath my mail box rather than left on my front porch. That mentally prepared me for the disaster that was to follow.
Box looked like an elephant sat on it.
Inside were two hair ribbons, a spa headband, a purple TAMO case for an iphone 6 and a red Michael Kors case for an iphone 5. Plus the black IRK bag of course.
They really went through the bottom of the trash can for this one.

@RiotDemon I haven’t tried it (only came today). I would have thought it would tangle as it would push your hair all over as you rubbed it back and forth or around in circles. I have to be careful how I rub with my fingers so as not to get a pile of knots. Glad to hear that apparently isn’t an issue.
@Kidsandliz I do small circles and brush front to back. I scrub my scalp with it, not my hair if you understand what I mean.

I’ve had some problems with it. I think it depends on your hair type. Mine is very curly and knots a lot easier also. But I do it in small sections and only go up and down. Just try it on a small section of your hair before you move to somewhere larger.

My scalp gets super dry in the winter and flakes a little and this gets rid of all of it. Also scalp circulation promotes hair growth and this thing will get the blood flowing in your scalp better than anything.
mine is in limbo. USPS says they delivered it to our apartment mailbox but didn’t put the locker key in my mailbox. I sincerely hope the mailman just forgot and didn’t accidentally put the key in someone else’s box. Or at the very least I hope I have honest neighbors. Got some of the wine stoppers. 2 30 pin iPhone cables which I can actually use. 2 pairs of the clogs. 4 poo pourri spray thingies. Wholly underwhelming and I don’t regret it at all.
Well, the regret was definitely instant! I think it took about 3 minutes to decide that everything was worthless. It went straight into the Goodwill box. The only thing I kept was the IRK bag. Has anyone seen a good haul since the BOC went away?

A truly regrettable kit, though my regret wasn’t as ‘instant’ as the name suggests. The box was practically open when it arrived (tape slashed open and the top flap not secured at all) containing:

The stupid toothbrush is fine. I didn’t want it, but now I use it, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯; when I run out of heads who knows if I’ll get new ones.
The Instant Regret:
The stupid speaker looked heavy enough and a quick search said it was worth $400 2014 dollars! First, the stupid bluetooth didn’t work (button wouldn’t respond). Secondly it suffered from a well-documented ‘humming’ issue when the Aux cord was used. Basically I got a nice looking cinderblock.
The Lasting Regret:
I took the speaker to the transfer station (read:dump) to unload the thing, and here’s the kicker. It cost me $20 do trash the thing because it’s ‘e-waste’. Thanks a lot meh-ther-fuckers.
TL;DR: I paid $25 for a mediocre electric toothbrush

This was my first IRK and it lived up to the name. I received the black IRK bag, crap bluetooth earbuds and the ugliest handbag I have ever seen. Earbuds will likely go to one of my nieces since they seem to go through them like water. The handbag…maybe as a gag wrapper for an actual gift?

This was my first IRK, and it included…
My partner loved the scrunchies, we don’t have kids but know enough folks with kids who will likely enjoy the shoes, and I use iClean for my glasses and devices all the time at home, so a travel size is great.
Even if it’s not the best reviewed model, I’ve never had a drone before, and I was excited to play around with stunts and snap some pictures in my backyard. The instant regret, however, is that it came with the drone, extra propeller blades, a micro-USB cable, three batteries, a micro-SD card for pictures w/ USB reader, but no battery charger or remote (and unlike most Propel drones, this model can’t be operated via an iPhone app). So now I have to debate if I want to chase down these essential parts on eBay.
Still, it was a pretty fun box.
@Portmandia The drone doesn’t charge with a simple micro USB cable? All the cheap small drones I’ve seen do. You can plug it into a computer or any wall wart.
Edit: Extra batteries, strange. Maybe it doesn’t have onboard charging? Is there no USB port.
@givemeyoursoul Nope - I downloaded a manual and it definitely comes with a seperate charger. Even if I had a charger, I’d still need a remote.
The regret was pretty instant in this one. I knew as soon as I picked it up and it was light as a feather I was in trouble.

Batteries charge, drone starts up. Flight control is iffy, it wants to go backwards constantly so I’m going to mess with it more to see if I can get it to work like it should.

Oh, the inhumanity!
Yeah they were stretching for anything to put in these, I think. An Iphone 6 battery case (useless, roomie has a different model and we’re android otherwise), an irk bag, a usb/micro glowing cable, and a palm cooler pad which I’ll hand off to the parentals next time I see them, whenever that is. Eh, whatever, can’t win them all, and I’ve gotten enough good stuff from previous irks/fuku/o that I’m not going to grump.
Fyi I didn’t get an irk. However, reading all of these combined with all my gardening I have been thinking of making a weeding stool and when I was thinking of how to pad it those random Palm coller tops came to mind. So idea is use as a weeding pad so knees don’t have mulch dig in or to top a little weeding bench.

That’s a good idea, especially if you had more than one you could stick them together for extra support.
Mine arrived yesterday. In addition to the IRK bag, there was a charger and a set of propeller guards for a flitt micro drone (which I actually own!!), and a shiatsu foot massager. Haven’t tried that yet, but we’ll see how it works. Thanks, meh!
A little underwhelming. The bag is the best part. Got a pack of wine stoppers, three different cell phone cleaning kits, a clip on cell phone lens set, and some large padded thing with an adhesive backing and the word “palm” on it. No clue on what that is.
