@somf69 I had one of those as a kid, lol! It was this triangle shaped thing with driving, pong and a shooting game, right? Or maybe I’m thinking of something else…either way it was fun and I loved playing it. I think it’s still in my parents basement.
I think it came out just before Atari? Or it was a cheap (and poor) alternative to it. Then I got a Ti-99/4A The late 70’s/early 80’s felt like such a revolution in gaming and home computers.
These controllers have horrible stick drift issues. I went through 4 of them while under warranty, they were sued for the issue and settlement was extended warranty. For this price barely over a regular controller I wouldn’t blame anyone but anything 100+ is robbery. The 3 is around the corner and I’d be mind blown if they didn’t fix the issue.
@dabesdiabetic Yeah, but so has most other game controller makers in the last few years from Nintendo on. Just expect controllers, anymore, to have drift. It’s sad, but a thing that happens.
But very few people would say that this controller is only slightly better than a normal Xbox controller. Most people consider the Elite controller the best controller available.
@macromeh@mike808 I could get the free shipping but I just don’t know if I’d like these enough to buy 6 of them - they sound good, though. You’ll have to let us know how they are.
@Kyeh@macromeh 6 means 2 of each. The Razz-Chipotle could be really good with BBQ, like a sour cherry beer. The pineapple seems to be a porch pounder that isn’t a rosè. They gonna get dranked.
@FrozenTrout From my very brief research into the matter, looks like it’s uses a standard USB-C cable. So when my included/not included cable is/isn’t there I won’t fret too much.
@Tin_Foil yeah, I’m not concerned, I have plenty of spare cables, just pointing out they left the incorrect “included 9’ USB cable” bit in the bullet point.
@FrozenTrout@Tin_Foil Series 2 Elite Controllers use USB-C. This looks like it’s the OG Elite Controller that uses Micro USB and doesn’t support bluetooth.
@bbf@FrozenTrout@Tin_Foil@troy OG supports Bluetooth, but only to a Microsoft Bluetooth dongle or the Xbox itself. Which is a half ass “supports Bluetooth”.
Even @ this price, I don’t think the OG is worth it. I have 2 OGs, and 2 V2s.
Stick drift on all of them makes me crazy, but still love the v2 controller.
@troy As ice992 said, it’s not bluetooth that is supported by a bluetooth compliant device, it’s some bastardized Xbox only version of bluetooth. I have an OG Elite and it only works wirelessly with Xboxen and PCs with the Xbox Wireless USB adapter.
@FrozenTrout this is the V1 elite - none of my v1’s connect to anything other than the Microsoft dongle. The v2 and X/S controllers will connect to the 8bitdo dongle.
@stinks one of the big features of the Elite is that you can swap out the analog sticks, dpads, and back paddles for different sizes/lengths, etc. The bundle includes even more different items you can swap between
Damnit I’ve been wanting one for years and didn’t want to pay more than a Franklin. Guess I will have to make my wife eat rice and Walmart chicken nuggies for the next month.
Im still trying to figure out what the Ninja deals at sSideDeal really is. Costco and everyone else sells the iFoodi Grill 5in1 w/ thermometer at the same price.
@KSchweitz i don’t see it anywhere for the same $129 price, but you’re right, it is listed at several places for ~20% more and brand new w/ full warranty.
@KSchweitz If you haven’t noticed, most of the stuff on morningsave is about the same price, if not more expensive, than other places.
The only thing I have seen that is truly a great deal is the Cuisinart 3.5 HP pro blender, which is still hundreds more elsewhere. I so wished for someone to get it in an irk.
It is not uncommon to google whatever they are selling and find it cheaper. Especially at places with faster shipping and free returns.
I guess I wasn’t aware medicore labs–if that is a thing anymore–split with morningsave and what not.
These might be my favorite controllers ever. I’ve never had any drifting issues, and the Gen2 Elites have the non-swappable built in battery pack, which I loathe.
I have the second gen version of this, and it’s notorious for having a slightly non-responsive A button. It probably misses inputs about 1 in 20 times for me. Not sure if the original had the same specific problem, but I would be a little wary of a refurb here - this line has had quality control issues that seem inherent to the design. A shame, because I really like how it feels in the hand.
@Pufferfishy Yea I lost interest in consoles and pretty much just game on my PC.
why waste money on more consoles when I can just emulate my games on one system?
This sold out way too fast (the bundled version was gone before 7AM est, but anyway
This is a discontinued first gen model… Pass. Its got even more bugs than the notoriously buggy gen 2
Wonder if they are ever going to ship this. Of any purchase I have made on Meh, this is the one I am the most excited about. But it has not even shipped after 8 days? I don’t think I remember that ever happening before.
@Beruud got me wondering too. Took 8 days for a shipping notification, then it says the DHL people got it and processed it midday on the 28th, tendered to delivery service in the wee morning hours of the 29th in a city only 30 minutes from me, and nothing after that. I could have just driven down there and picked it up if they were going to ship it on the back of a tortoise. Ordered the weighted blanket from meh and a flashlight from morningsave a week later than the controller and already been enjoying them for a few days now. Blanket came FedEx I think, flashlight USPS maybe? It was in my mailbox. DHL doesn’t have the best reputation, maybe that’s the problem.
@Stormchaser Yeah, took forever. They average about 3 days to ship something, then it is usually 3-4 days to get. I am cool with that. But something must of been up with the controllers, because it is the longest it has been to ship. ||| Yes, mine is shipping via USPS, and it has been sitting in a facility in OH for since the 29th…? This hole thing has been odd. I realize, meh, cast off items, scratch and dent, overstock, blah… but this thing from start to finish has been very un-meh like.
@Beruud@Stormchaser Supposedly, mine has been sitting in Salt Lake City for 5 days. Informed Delivery says there is nothing coming today. Maybe tomorrow.
The rubber started to peel. My left stick developed stick drift. I checked with Microsoft to see how much to repair it, and to my surprise the serial number showed up as in warranty. I shipped it off to the service center yesterday. I’ll let you know if they repair or replace it with the Series 1 or 2.

@somf69 Who cares? What is more important is does it work on the Intellivision?
@k4evryng @somf69 Looks like a Tardis control console.
Where do I plug in the game cartridge?

if I didn’t already have one I would snap this up on the spot
@WilhelmScreamer So… as a user… is it worth the meh?
Never mind this thing.
MEAD?!? That’s exciting!
@Kyeh
StrollingSauntering over to casemates.com.@Kyeh @mike808 And then I see it’s pineapple and raspberry mead.
/giphy wtf
@mike808 @stinks I kind of want to get it, but it’s a little too pricey for me to just take a chance on it.
@Kyeh I’m not a big fan of mead, but my son is - I sent him a link to today’s deal.
@Kyeh @macromeh
I got a case. As a VMP, free shipping on casemates. I’m also a K over there too.
@macromeh @mike808 I could get the free shipping but I just don’t know if I’d like these enough to buy 6 of them - they sound good, though. You’ll have to let us know how they are.
@Kyeh @macromeh 6 means 2 of each. The Razz-Chipotle could be really good with BBQ, like a sour cherry beer. The pineapple seems to be a porch pounder that isn’t a rosè. They gonna get dranked.
@macromeh @mike808 They do sound good. But I’m still going to resist.
@Kyeh @macromeh @mike808 I can admit K-envy got me to plunk down $5 so I could be a K somewhere.
Considering I’m still using my 360 pad for my PC gaming and it has significant stick drift, I’m guessing this will feel right at home.
“• Connectivity: Wireless, or wired using included 9’ USB cable.
…
• No USB Cable included“
@FrozenTrout From my very brief research into the matter, looks like it’s uses a standard USB-C cable. So when my included/not included cable is/isn’t there I won’t fret too much.
@Tin_Foil yeah, I’m not concerned, I have plenty of spare cables, just pointing out they left the incorrect “included 9’ USB cable” bit in the bullet point.
@FrozenTrout @Tin_Foil Series 2 Elite Controllers use USB-C. This looks like it’s the OG Elite Controller that uses Micro USB and doesn’t support bluetooth.
@bbf @FrozenTrout @Tin_Foil OG Elite supports bluetooth, I’ve got two of 'em
@bbf @FrozenTrout @Tin_Foil @troy OG supports Bluetooth, but only to a Microsoft Bluetooth dongle or the Xbox itself. Which is a half ass “supports Bluetooth”.
Even @ this price, I don’t think the OG is worth it. I have 2 OGs, and 2 V2s.

Bill Gates, still trying to control everything in the world.
A multi-level troll… well done!
Is there any reason to get the Microsoft wireless adapter vs a seemingly more versatile 8bitdo Wireless Adapter 2?
@FrozenTrout this is the V1 elite - none of my v1’s connect to anything other than the Microsoft dongle. The v2 and X/S controllers will connect to the 8bitdo dongle.
Is there bluetooth in this? I already have an xbox controller for PC games but it has Bluetooth connectivity in it
@Vitanima This looks like the Elite 1 which does not have Bluetooth

So this is the first generation? Eh. I would buy one just have a backup if it was the newer generation.
Okay you lost me. What are the accessories good for? Do I care?
@stinks one of the big features of the Elite is that you can swap out the analog sticks, dpads, and back paddles for different sizes/lengths, etc. The bundle includes even more different items you can swap between

@AdmiralDave GIF is oddly relevant lol.
@AdmiralDave tell me your wife doesn’t read the meh.com forums without saying your wife doesn’t read the meh.com forums.
@AdmiralDave And oddly awe some.
Another one of these? How am I suppose to use my 20 $5 coupons with the same items
I could never get the hang of these things. Which button does what again?
@hchavers The A button does almost everything.
The start button if the early screens are stuck.
Triggers for the baddies.
No one knows what the shoulder buttons do, they don’t matter
@midnightplatinu start? triggers? shoulder? They have names?
@hchavers Just choose Eddy Gordo and start mashing everything randomly.
@hchavers Use the Any key.
was thinking about this overnight … the version with the extra stuff already sold-out!
@outz im talking sidedeal and the ninja grill for $149. Thats the going rate everywhere

I guess I wasn’t aware medicore labs–if that is a thing anymore–split with morningsave and what not.
But, it is pretty much overpriced junk.
@KSchweitz Once in a while they’ll toss a 20% off coupon in the mail. That might be the time to buy.
These might be my favorite controllers ever. I’ve never had any drifting issues, and the Gen2 Elites have the non-swappable built in battery pack, which I loathe.
@corgincognito Anything is swappable at least once.
Before I got an Xbox controller for my pc I had to game with a mouse and keyboard. It WASD terrible.
@xerdkwa
Xbox is still a thing? Huh.
@Pufferfishy Very much so. Xbox Game Pass is easily the best value in gaming too. Tons of day-1 releases available on it.
@Pufferfishy Pretending to be ignorant like you’re somehow making a point is still a thing? Huh.
@itsthebrod Sadly mine sits gathering dust. Simply no time these days…
Shame - I could really go for a marathon session of Viva Piñata about now…
@Pufferfishy Yea I lost interest in consoles and pretty much just game on my PC.
why waste money on more consoles when I can just emulate my games on one system?
@Pufferfishy @SEGAStaRBiTS64 you can emulate games on a series X. Quite well actually.
never had a gaming console.
but I do have a MS X Box controller.
I use it for online poker.
I doubt I need to upgrade to “elite”, lol.
This sold out way too fast (the bundled version was gone before 7AM est, but anyway

@windraver Gen 1

@Beruud then you didn’t buy the diamond bracelet.

@Beruud @Stormchaser I’m still waiting…
@j37hr0 @Stormchaser I just got mine today. So far so good. Took 20 seconds to connect and works great, using PC. Hope yours shows up soon!
@Beruud @j37hr0 nope mine still hasn’t moved, but you’re giving me hope! Hope you enjoy the heck out of it
@Beruud @Stormchaser Supposedly, mine has been sitting in Salt Lake City for 5 days. Informed Delivery says there is nothing coming today. Maybe tomorrow.
@j37hr0 @Stormchaser fingers crossed!
It arrived. Yay!
@j37hr0 mine did too finally! Sat there doing nothing for 6 days, but then it finally moved. The ordeal is over! high five

@j37hr0 A brand new series 1 with paddles and standard thumb sticks.
