You can tell it’s fall! Starting tonight at 11 pm central, with the first episode, “The Ripper.” So you have ten minutes to figure out if you get MeTV or not.
@ruouttaurmind@sammydog01 I never saw Ghost Story/Circle of Fear until the Decades channel started marathoning it one weekend in the fall a few years ago, and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It’s such a relaxing combination of spookiness and slow pacing. Some of the endings are kind of a letdown, but the setups are usually so good that I don’t care. I mean, how do you end the story of a mysterious mountain man who lives in a wilderness behind an apartment door discovered by Leif Garrett and who may or may not want to abduct Susan Dey? Wait, that one’s OK. How do you end the story of a group of hippy artisans, one of whom is Tyne Daly in a red cape, who disappear one by one and whose souls may be imprisoned in glass apothecary jars? You basically can’t end that story. There is no ending as good as the idea.
@mossygreen@ruouttaurmind I recently watched the artist one with the jars and realized that’s Frank Converse from Movin On. I loved that show too and am and watching it on youtube. I remembered the Jodie Foster one from first run. And a lot of the others.
@ruouttaurmind But how will you learn about the law firms in your area who deal with nursing home injury/ovarian cancer from talcum powder cases? @sammydog01 Ah, I was watching a Rhoda marathon last month and thought, why is Brenda’s supervisor at the bank who wants to date Rhoda so familiar? Turned out to be, you guessed it, Frank Converse. Never watched Movin’ On, so it must be from Ghost Story. Although I do have a bizarre affection for everyone who was ever on Rhoda, even if I don’t remember them…
I imagine everyone who saw the Jodie Foster one, or the Leif Garrett/Susan Dey one, for example, never forgot them. Heck, even the Tab Hunter episode is kind of amazingly eerie in parts, and he was a terrible, terrible actor.
WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO ME? That was one of my favorite shows back in the day. I can’t get that channel unless I chop down all the trees between me and the tower.
@sammydog01 And if you start watching at 11 and periodically stop it to watch commercials for the elderly, homebound and/or underemployed, it will be just like broadcast!
Also, sorry. I just got excited when I looked at the schedule.
@robson For sure! This first episode reminded me so much of the Eugene Tooms X-Files episode. He even brought Darren McGavin to guest star on a couple of episodes (not playing Kolchak).
I used to love this show when I was a nipper. Around the same timeframe IIRC there was another one I enjoyed called The New Avengers.
@ruouttaurmind I have also been watching Ghost Story/Circle of Fear. That’s around the same time too. Thank you Youtube!

Dang, I just remembered why I stopped watching broadcast TV. 7 minutes into a commercial break.
EDIT: Wait! I just remembered my add-on TV tuner can record broadcast TV!!!
Record tonight, watch tomorrow, FF through commercials.

@mossygreen @ruouttaurmind GO WATCH IT NOW! It’s on youtube.
@mossygreen @ruouttaurmind @sammydog01 Terrible actor you say? Well 1:25 has a counter to that.
@reddinghill @ruouttaurmind @sammydog01 I stand corrected.
@ruouttaurmind @sammydog01 That mustache, oh my!

Actually looks like I can watch them on Youtube.

@sammydog01 Also, you should consider chopping down all the trees. For Television.
I loved that show too when I was a kid! Brings back fond and sometimes scary memories. Chris Carter had to have watched this as well…

@mossygreen I forgot, thanks for reminding me! Need to rewatch some X files
@robson Wooo!
