Memorial day ink for irk

@ExtraMedium What if we see stuff we want on Sidedeal and end up qualifying to get an Irk for 1 cent; can we get that and also this one?

@Kyeh I will submit the free “Ink IRKs” but if the boss says “they only get one” you’ll get the free one and the other will be cancelled. They’re all the same, mind you, but we won’t make you pay anything for what we ship since we promised one for free.

When’s the next cheap(er) IRK going live on SD?

I don’t mean one of the surprise pop-up ones, like the one @sammydog01 mentioned; I’m talking about buying $49.99 of stuff and getting an Irk for a penny.

@FreePasta You clearly missed the part where I said I had no Idea that this was happening. The idea that I ever know what’s going on anywhere is just silly.

@Kyeh @sammydog01 An official answer won’t happen before the event is over. Everyone has the day off. I’m just here because I was tagged. Go with you heart. If you’re going to buy stuff anyway, pull the trigger on the IRK. Worst case scenario, you get you money back and one IRK still shows up.

Yeah … the things I’m considering are ones I could probably get a little cheaper elsewhere. But if buying them here got me another Irk, I’d do that. I guess I’ll sleep on it. Maybe they’ll n
be sold out when I wake up and my choice will be made for me.

@ExtraMedium @FreePasta I had this question a Mehrathon or so ago, and was told the ink-IRKs were separate… but I’m thinking maybe there’s some confusion.

@ExtraMedium @Kyeh I bought a sidedeal irk. Then I felt bad and cancelled it because that’s probably the one they don’t want me to buy. But I got that brief thrill of winning.

There’s a backstory, of course.

Several years back, I bought an end-of-season, discounted pop-up gazebo from Big Lots: [‘Manhattan’ ahahaha][1]. I’d tried this once before, with a much cheaper model, and it was so light, it migrated over my fence in less than a week.

But this one looked sturdy. And it was very nice…until the 2020 Midwest derecho, which dropped a few hundred pounds of tree branch about 60-80 feet, crushing half of it, like a very large spider under a much larger shoe.

I really liked it, though; maybe it gained sentimental value because it provided an outdoor, non-mosquito infested space during a rough summer. Maybe because I’d found the perfect furniture for under it. It was comfy.

So, a year or two later, I bought another.

And this fall, winds picked it up and knocked it on its roof, which was pretty flimsy. I tried righting it and re-anchoring it, but over it went again. A lot of things bent and tore.

Anyway,

I need to strip what’s left down and see if there’s enough structure to fix. Because I may just buy a new canopy, and try again.

@brainmist Geez, something out there doesn’t want you to have a gazebo! But good luck; if you get one I’ll be very envious.

@ExtraMedium So the “Leet” ones yesterday WERE okay for stacking, but buying the $50 one and then buying stuff to get the $49.99 refund means you can’t get the Inked one? Seems a bit backwards, if their objective is to sell stuff.

@Kyeh We don’t want to discourage sales, but we do want to reward participation and see no need to squeeze you guys or prevent you from having fun trying to catch us being sneaky. No reason you all should be punished (further) for your ink.

@ExtraMedium Well, I took a chance on the buy/refund one but evidently that’s not going to be rewarded! Should’ve bought a Leet one instead … oh well! MIBMMTIS…

@ExtraMedium @Kyeh I guess I shouldn’t have cancelled my Sidedeal one. Actually it probably saved me another trip to goodwill.

@ExtraMedium @sammydog01 Yeah - it’s laughable really. At least half of what I’ve received over the years are things I probably wouldn’t take if someone paid me the equivalent amount to take them (all those Trakrs!) but it’s a little like having a gambling addiction!
