You must eat at Mario Batali's Carnevino The dry aged bone-in ribeye was the best steak I have ever eaten. I would also kill for the Mascarpone & Guanciale Mashed Potatoes.
The Peppermill. Seriously. That is all. Oh, and best craps odds are at Main St. Station. and if you go down to Fremont St check out this little hole in the wall called Mickey Finnz. It's a dive bar... Now that's all.
@Headly That place saved our asses one year! We had a suite booked for the SuperCross Cinco De Mayo race and got back to the strip late because of the traffic. Even though we called and they confirmed our room with us, they gave it to someone else. We called around and the Peppermill had one of their villa type rooms open and gave it to us for $40. Yeah, $40 for 8 tired, dirty, slightly tipsy chicks. They'll forever hold a special place in my heart for that.
@Ignorant Oh man, that's right! I think the hotel/casino in LV closed a while back. Or I completely screwed up the name of the place in my memory... possible.
I must have gotten the name wrong. There was a Peppermill Casino in LV... in the 80's, lol. I guess I have some googling to do. Sorry to derail the post.
@editorkid The amount you can back your pass line bet with (the "odds" bet, a poorly named bet) changes from the typical 3,4,5x to 20x. The "odds" bet is the only even money bet in the house. So if you are able to increase that bet, it decreases the risk of the orginal pass line bet.
@Headly@Travis Thanks. I didn't even know the Odds were a thing, separate from the odds. I've never been able to understand that game but that page helped.
@editorkid if you're new to craps, just play the pass line and maybe cover some numbers. ask the dealers for hel with the odds. avoid all the other bets on the table as they are very low probability.
Without knowing what you're interested in, it is hard to make recommendations. Some people may love James Turrell's free 'Akhob' exhibit while others may prefer the Pinball Hall of Fame.
One piece of advice that you must heed however, WATCH OUT FOR THAT MASSIVE DRAGON BEHIND YOU.
@travis Now I have to go just to see the Turrell. The one in Dallas closed due to a stupid condo built next door that ruined the skyspace. We can’t have nice things here.
Spice market Buffet and the Buffet at the M are very good for some international treats head out to Eastern Ave (I think ) south of the city and then east. and Burgr by Gordon Ramsey is good, go close to close for shorter wait. there is a wonderful taco place North on the stripe but south of the Riviera. great food
highly recommend Hash House A Go Go and the neon boneyard tour. and if you plan on going to Eiffel tower, go at night, the bellagio fountains from above is really neato. you'll want to turn the sound down because it was windy.but it was fun to watch https://flic.kr/p/dVm4jB
@vampje +1! Hash House A Go Go is fan-freakin'-tastic! Last time I was in Vega$ we ate there 4 times in 3 days. Great food, gigantic portions and reasonable prices. It's the only sure bet in Vega$!
All I know is that I'm repeating my 3-hour brunch and bottomless mimosa experience next Sunday (1/25) at the Border Grill at Mandalay Bay because that $hiT is AWESOME!
Go to Death Valley for the day; it's only a couple hours away, looks spectacular, and this is the time of year to go: when it's not hot enough to actually kill you.
Welp, in the airport waiting to fly home. It's safe to say I took none of your suggestions as none of them consisted of drinking too much then trying to find the ice bar.
I would like to report that we walked almost 40 miles in the 3 1/2 days we were here.
We hit up tournament of kings. This was a must because we are renaissance faire performers. That and La Reve were the shows we hit. Then a full day of shopping at the outlets and walking through the Crystal shops acting like we can afford that stuff. I don't think my Meh shirt went over well in the three different tiffanys shops.
@Headly We did end up finding the Ice Bar in the Monte Carlo and went in for about an hour. It was pricey (ended up being $52 including 2 drinks), but we had a lot of fun. We did some extra shots inside as well. The wives (we went with another couple) were celebrating birthdays so free shots with the purchase of 1 were fun. I failed at an ice shot and got alcohol all over. They brought out a flame thrower to evaporate it which was exciting and got a good laugh from everyone around. The sculpting of the ice was quite impressive. The other guy had the need to lick the ice so we spent a lot of time trying to figure out the "safest" place to lick the wall. You know, having fun.

You guys are in Vegas? Awesome!
@Thumperchick I'm always in Vegas, but that is because I live here.
Is it totally freakish that a picture of this same dragon was in my g+ feed yesterday?
@Mavyn It's totally freakish that someone actually keeps up with their G+ feed. :)
@jose602 I wouldn't say keeps up...I seldom am there other than for a hangout.
The Peppermill. Seriously. That is all.

@Thumperchick The Peppermill is more than just a restaurant/lounge?
@Ignorant It is a little bit more than a restaurant/lounge, but it doesn't have hotel rooms.
@Ignorant Oh man, that's right! I think the hotel/casino in LV closed a while back. Or I completely screwed up the name of the place in my memory... possible.
@Thumperchick There is a Peppermill casino and hotel in Reno, if that helps.
@travis Nah, it was Vegas. I'm almost certain it was the Peppermill.
I must have gotten the name wrong. There was a Peppermill Casino in LV... in the 80's, lol. I guess I have some googling to do. Sorry to derail the post.
@Headly I've never played craps, but how can odds be different? Do they have Vegas' only honest dice? Or is it something like a low rake?

@travis @editorkid What Travis said http://wizardofodds.com/games/craps/basics/#toc-TheOdds

@Thumperchick Did the Peppermill night manager look like this?
@Thumperchick Actually the Peppermill Hotel/Casino was in Mesquite, Nevada about 80 miles north of Las Vegas

Lotus of Siam. A little off the Strip in a sketchy looking strip mall. Definitely make a reservation. Best Thai food I've ever eaten.
Careful, @Bogie, that Day Zero shirt makes you a target now that the folks who missed it know where you are. Good luck!
This is what I packed for CES
@Ignorant I didn't know there was a mediocre shirt... :( I thought I caught them all.
@rileyper pokémeh.

I Love that City
@Bogie - Don't lose your shirt in the casinos! :)

There is a 24 hr. doctors office upstairs in the Imperial Palace. In a total coincidence, there are bloodstains in the Imperial Palace's carpet.

@jqubed Meh. Did Deare Valley in July. It's gotta be deadly.
If you really want some good odds, drive to Laughlin and hit up Don Laughlins Casino. All the old fogeys in there make it an experience.
Welp, in the airport waiting to fly home. It's safe to say I took none of your suggestions as none of them consisted of drinking too much then trying to find the ice bar.

@Bogie We checked out ToK last time we were there and had a great time. Glad you did too.
@Bogie did the ice bar last trip. over rated. you didnt miss anything.
