Meet my baby girl

I am absolutely thrilled to announce the arrival of our beautiful baby girl. Nala Everly was born 9/22/15 at 4:22AM. She weighs 7lbs 2.6oz, and measures 19.5 inches. She may have taken a while to get here, but perfection cannot be rushed. I feel so blessed right now. Both Baby and Mommy are doing great.

- @OldCatLady Sometimes you have to fake it like a baby is beautiful (we can all admit some are just funky looking when they're fresh from the oven, my 2nd was). Not so with this one, she's already looking like an old soul.

- @MrMark our hospital didn't use those either. however, each baby born there got a small (3'x3'), handmade quilt from the local quilting club. it was very cool.

@lichme congrats on your beautiful baby. You'll soon get to experience what is like to go from losing your mind from lack of sleep, to utter terror at the hell a child can induce, to laughing in pure blissful joy - in only a few seconds.

This will be a daily routine for at least the next 18 years. The time will fly but it does that when your days blur into endless nights of sleep walking diaper changes, a house that is always in need of cleaning and everlasting laundry duty.

Your vocabulary will rapidly and vastly expand as you find new ways to express the things that you used to be able to say with simple 4-letter words.

You'll discover that when your mother said "I hope you grow up and have children that act just like you", she wasn't hoping at all. She was actually casting a spell. That's right, your mother was a witch. Your new bundle of joy will find new and inventive ways to ensure nothing in your life will ever get boring. At least, this is my life.

Most of all, you will discover a new kind of love. You will become powerless to the will of your child. You will suddenly want to become more than human so you can become Super-Dad. You will learn a new and inventive way to justify their demands, and all while wearing a smile

Seriously, congrats on the new addition to your growing family. Go get some rest. You're going to need it!
