@Cerridwyn "Hello Nurse" was written as a counter to Bugs' "What's up, doc?".
Also, Animaniacs was not written for children; it just so happened that they were relagated to weekday afternoons. They ran a foul with Broadcast Standards & Practices a lot back in those days.
Useless fact: They were able to say "hell" under the guise of Shakespeare.
@narfcake@Cerridwyn Apparently it was also a common thing from the vaudeville era. This doesn't exactly seem like something that would generally be considered kid-friendly, though:
It's totally become my catchphrase (at least mentally) when I see an attractive woman.
@narfcake Meh to kid friendly. I was never censored in what I read or watched. Neither was my child. I didn't believe in it then and still don't. Didn't censor what games she played or what she saw on the net.
@somf69 I shudder to think how much I've spent at the Studio Store back in the days.
Useless fact: My first Animaniacs shirt was purchased at the Brea store on January 11, 1994, and I was wearing it when the Northridge quake hit 6 days later. I didn't feel it, as I was driving at the time; got stuck north of where the bridge collapsed, though.
@narfcake "... and cold and tiny Pluto is the furthest one at all..."
Nitpicking here, but Pluto was closer to the Sun than Neptune when this aired. Pluto has a highly eccentric orbit which periodically brings it closer to the Sun than Neptune, such as the recent period from 1979 - 1999.
Useless fact: There were only 4 shirts that had Rita the cat on it. Two were the 1993-1994 shirts sold at WBSS, two were 1996 shirts sold at Six Flags.
I just happened to be visiting a sick friend in the hospital the other day, when a male nurse walked in to change my friend's IV. She said, "This is my nurse..." I couldn't resisist, and said, "Hellooo Nurse! (even though it was a guy...). He never even looked at me, and said, "Oh, it's not like its the first time I heard THAT one...!" I don't think it's sexist when applied in the proper context...
Helloooooooo nurse!
@Bingo funny as it is, it's also one of the most insulting lines used in 'children's media to/about nurses. So I have to give it a

thank you.
Naaaaaarrrrrrf.
@narfcake I was stationed at NARF Pensacola while in the Navy. It's a real word. Sorta. It was replaced by NADEP.
@Mehrocco_Mole Nice!, though it's always been a real word.
Useless fact: Pinky and the Brain were modeled after two storyboard artists that worked on Tiny Toon Adventures.
Looks like I know what I'm going to do tomorrow.
I worked for the Retail Stores during the Heyday of this show.....My kids have no idea how good this stuff is.....there's baloney in my slacks

My daughter was seriously addicted. I found it cute what they had done to bring the characters into what was then the modern age.
If you watched through the closing credits they almost always slipped a special line in there...
Also: The Anvil Chorus
I watched it tonight! So many jokes I wasn't getting as a kid!
Fingerprints.
@dave Goodnight, everybody!

@PocketBrain And 22 years later, we STILL have undocumented nitpicks! Seriously, this isn't in the CRGA!
Animaniacs was created by the Illuminati with Jay Z
@whalewatcher
Though stretched out, this was based on an actual studio event:
Hellooooooooooooooo Princess.
@narfcake Whatever would we do here without our leading authority on Animaniacs and catshirts?
@brhfl I have to be good for something, right?

I was always so excited when an episode started, and then so depressed whenever a Rita and Runt episode would come on. Ugh.
I love Mr. Skullhead.
@zachdecker I like Rita. She's a good dog. :)
Have gun will travel!?!

I love Animaniacs. BUT, I don't like the Buttons segments. Poor Buttons.
@JT954 Useless fact: Spielberg liked Mindy and Buttons, so it stayed in.
