“He see’s you when you’re sleeping” … ever listen to the lyrics of some of your favorite songs? Kinda creepy isn’t it? Some guy watching you all the time… Who cares if you’re not good once in a while right? SANTA does (and maybe Krampus), and when they say “be good for goodness sake” they aren’t lying, otherwise you may end up on the naughty list.
Made using stuff around the house that I had for making actual “Santa Cam” glitter ornaments, and customized elves. It was an idea born from Christmas music, the creepy elf on the shelf, and Krampus, all wrapped up together. Everything came from the dollar store, for around $5 total, and words were cut using a vinyl machine. The camera lens is actually one of those phone camera zoom lenses. The actual ornament is around 4in.
Could it have been better? Most definitely, but an attempt was made!
@lichme
Idea stolen (well kinda) one of the ideas I’ve been tossing around has something to do with deconstructing a song. So if I do it I’m not copying.
@lichme This is a really cute idea, I bet you could sell these.
@miscreant I do actually sell these items separately in the area, just not with the horror element. It’s why I had the supplies on hand.
@lichme this is real good… I really like it
This is super cool. Great idea!
@lichme Agreed - super creepy! “he sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake” … YIKES
@lichme @miscreant poor Camden, I sure hope he is not claustrophobic
@lichme this is so clever!! I love that it’s based on that creepy song lyric xD hopefully you can catch who’s been naughty and nice with this!
@cbilyak @lichme @miscreant CLAUSE-trophobic - Should be the fear of Santa
@lichme never realized how creepy the song was great job!
@lichme Love it!
I likes it!
1 - Tells us about your item
“Unicorn slays her enemies”
Monsters are all around us - make assumptions about pink glittery ones at your own peril.
2 - What was your inspiration / vision
I think the “sleeper monsters” you don’t see coming can be much scarier than the ones who make themselves obvious and known, give you a chance (even if brief) to prepare. So I figure a pretty, sparkly unicorn is like one of those poisonous flowers that is beautiful, to draw you in and kill you. The monster you don’t see coming and can’t prepare for!
The occult is dark and fascinating, so a hoodoo voodoo conjure doll being the way the unicorn slays the enemy felt dark and twisty and monster like! You know - just the phantom unicorn horn stabbing you to death during magic ritual you can’t see.
Also - I like hot pink, glitter, and slaying enemies.
3 - Tell us what the measurements are Length x Width x Height
5” long, 3.5” high
4 - Tell me about how much of the $25 spend limit was used
$5: *purchased clear Christmas ornament for the unicorn body, and 2 small things of clay for the horn. Glue for glitter inside the ornament - my stash. Sharpie - from my stash. Creepy accouterments - from my stash. Black ribbon for hanging - from my stash.
@mehhhhname
@mehhhhname Fantastic entry… this is beginning to look like I have my work cut out for me when judging
@mehhhhname The voodoo doll may get an orgasm from horn up the butt instead of being slain.
@mehhhhname
Reminds me of that episode of Supernatural:
This is awesome. I love the head sculpt and the hair.
POPSOCKETS! SPA KITS! POLLY POCKETS! AWESOME!
@bmf haha can you blame it? a beauty stabbing you to death out of nowhere, maybe it’s her parting gift to him
@Koolhandjoe !!! I have to go find this episode what!
@AllisonIvy I love how I don’t think I shared my meh handle with you and yet you knew this was me
@Koolhandjoe @mehhhhname isn’t that from Cabin in the Woods?
@bmf @mehhhhname right? I had to ask myself if this was monster or porn, LOL, kidding.
@Koolhandjoe @mehhhhname @RiotDemon I was thinking the same thing! one of my favorite parts of the film!
@mehhhhname it’s because I practice divination
@mehhhhname your stash must be amazing. Love it!
@hugeopossum thank you . it’s pretty fun for sure - and unique/interesting stuff from different countries too!
@mehhhhname @RiotDemon You know I was wrong… that was Cabin in the Woods… this was the Supernatural one:
@Koolhandjoe @RiotDemon this one is more on point! Wrong gif but right scene memory! And now I have TWO unicorn stabbing cinema options to watch
@Koolhandjoe @mehhhhname @RiotDemon I am shocked, SHOCKED that no one here is an Abominable Dr. Phibes fan. I know it’s not a real unicorn, but:
@mehhhhname unicorns are crazy… that’s what I say!
@mehhhhname Lol this is so clever! I like that you took an innocent looking unicorn ornament and truly added a monster touch to it Very well done!
@mehhhhname very interesting indeed.
@mehhhhname I love this so much. That little doll made of bones and his face is perfect!
This is an anti-Christmas character weeding out reindeer via guillotine. No real inspiration, just my imagination down a path of something I am capable of making. It is 5.75" tall, 4.8" wide, and 5.5" deep. I spent $3, already had a fair bit of the supplies…I have kids so have 2 cabinets of craft supplies.
I made 2 different options but the other one ended up being over 6". Will post that one after the deadline. Would hate to post if someone else had the same idea and my non-entry was here before their official entry.
@cbilyak Ooooo, grim!
@cbilyak this seriously made me giggle!
@cbilyak I really like it… the look on the snow mans face!.. really good
@cbilyak I also love the hat and scarf! gotta stay warm while headchopping!
@cbilyak
I love them mini guillotine
@cbilyak I freaking love this!!!
@cbilyak I love the mini guillotine! At first I thought it was a popsicle sled with a snowman, but I saw the snowman’s evil grin and the bloodied reindeer, and then I realized it’s way more than just a sled lol well done!
@cbilyak this is an awesome concept, the guillotine doesn’t see enough holiday action!
OWLS! TOWELS! JOWLS! AWESOME!
@cbilyak The glitter blood makes it. Congrats on the win!
These are my Monster Ornaments! Cryptids/monsters same thing, right? I have an arguably healthy obsession with cryptids and aliens. This is a couple of … Bigfoots?.. Bigfeet? And Sam the Sandown Ghost Clown (Google it. It’s amazing.)
They are printed in PLA filament on my 3d printer, they stand roughly 2.5 inches tall. Cost wise, I would estimate them to cost around $0.50 worth of materials to make each, including the ornament hooks.
@trybal I am impressed… I was hoping to see some more 3D printing this go around… My son has a 3d printer… but I have not had time to learn how to build on it yet
@trybal these are awesome!
POPSOCKETS! COURT DOCKETS! FOLK ROCK HITS! AWESOME!
@trybal cool! We talk about getting a 3D printer but have not pulled the trigger. This makes me want it even more.
@trybal do you think Bigfoot is an interdimensional traveller for the greys or a biological entity natural to earth?
@hugeopossum What a question. I lean towards a biological entity first, but I the idea of Keel’s ultra-terrestrials (Not Extra-terrestrial) is growing on me more and more.
@trybal I tend to agree. Wild thing podcast really laid it out, and as someone who studied anthropology I find it not out of the realm of possibility. However, I find myself more and more leaning towards a mothman scenario just because it’d really be lovely to have the multiverse be confirmed
@trybal okay this looks like you could sell em
@ferial @trybal Not just ‘could’ sell them…you SHOULD sell them! These are awesome and the details on them are fantastic!!!
HIKING! VIKINGS! STRIKE KING [BRAND FISHING LURES]! AWESOME!
@ferial @nonlion I’m don’t want to break any rules for the forum or anything, but I do run a shop on Etsy.
@nonlion @trybal that’s awesome! I’m glad you’re selling. Makes having a 3d printer totally worth it!
VAN GOGH! MANGO! TANGO! AWESOME!
@trybal You’re definitely not breaking any rules Care to share your Etsy Shop name? I’d love to check out your other work.
@nonlion My shop name is aRandomShoppe. It’s not really a money maker, but it does give me an excuse to have cryptid creatures scattered around my house
@nonlion @trybal Joe has an Etsy shop too so it’s cool. I’m a fan of cryptids. And I’ve got it bookmarked. Love the shiny moth man.
My Monsterified ornament started out as a white frosted, sprinkle doughnut ornament by Kurt S. Adler. I didn’t particularly have an inspiration for this ornament, but it did look potentially evil, diet be damned. It measures approximately 6"H x 6"W x 3"D. I spent about $7 total for the baby doll parts (Dollar Tree), elf ornament (Target), silver picks/sword (dollar tree) and dragon eyes (Michaels). I already had the ornament, plastic fork tines for the teeth and garland for the hair.
@heartny so cool… love it
@heartny
Oh wow that’s creepy! Those cat eyes and baby body parts really DO IT for me! … and the teeth, those bloody teeth!
Lol
@heartny @Koolhandjoe
I was just thinking, next time you should/could have a fan favorite, we all get to vote on a winner.
Just a thought… ¯\(ツ)/¯
@heartny @Lynnerizer I will for sure consider it
@heartny oh this is sooooo cute and creepy all at the same time!!!
@heartny The attention to detail here is fantastic! I love the plastic fork tines bloodied and put at the hole of the donut. I think that really is the (bloody) icing on the cake for this monsterification. Well done!
@heartny this is super creepy and so eclectic. I like it a lot!
@heartny This is my favorite. So creepy and weird.
@sammydog01 Awww, thank you very much. That means a lot to me. Really. ❤
I love this - those eyeballs are
@Koolhandjoe, I think one of these cartoonists* must be following you!
The bear looks especially similar to some of yours!
*(Francesco Marciuliano & Jim Keefe)
@Kyeh Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery
5.5 in tall and 5 in wide (at the tips of the tentacles)
thrift store doll ornament 75cent
Soft crayola clay (5), acrylic paint ($11)
I was really excited to turn this dolly into a kaiju monster. Squid girl is probably my favorite craft I’ve made so far. I’ve also turned a couple other ornaments into monsters and kaiju since the start of the project, but this girl’s my favorite.
Edit: Found the original photo I took on our way home from the thrift store
@hugeopossum Ooh super creepy! Love it!
@hugeopossum @mehhhhname
Yikes! She kinda had the creepy thing going even before she was monsterfied!
@hugeopossum @Lynnerizer lol agreed!
@hugeopossum Well Done… I would totally hang that in my tree
@hugeopossum that doll
@hugeopossum I really love this! Every element adds together to make this a truly horrifying monsterification. The tentacles are very well done and quite the creative touch!
@nonlion thank you that means so much to me!
@hugeopossum in addition to the general creepiness, I really dig your color choices!
@hugeopossum Those tentacles are amazing!
Okay, so I was going to try to come up with something for this event, but the past week has been brutal and I haven’t had the energy. So here is one of the ornaments that I made for my spooky Christmas tree (which isn’t even getting put up now thanks to the week from hell)
Started with a wood disc and a couple of little plastic bats. A little paint, a little glue, and there ya have it.
@Pony I love that, it is fantastic!
@Pony this turned out great! i’m so sorry it’s been a rough week - i hope hump day helps turn it around
@Pony I love this… I might actually copy this with your blessing of course
@Koolhandjoe Be my guest.
@Koolhandjoe @Pony same except I may make the round a full moon.
@Koolhandjoe @Pony @sillyheathen
Seems like it would look good using a crescent moon as well.
@Koolhandjoe I need to what magnet to make to add to your wife’s collection btw!
@Pony another one that looks like you could totally sell! Awesome!
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!
@Pony Sorry your week has been horrible. But this ornament is pretty awesome!
POPSOCKETS! COURT DOCKETS! FOLK ROCK HITS! AWESOME!
@miscreant Thanks.
@Pony I hope the end of your week starts to turn around! Maybe Meh could do another meh-rathon so a chance at an IRK could cheer you up a tiny bit (Hint Hint Wink Wink Meh) I love this I can only imagine what other ornaments you have for your spooky tree.
@nonlion Heh. Thanks. Things are better now, the week from hell is over. (my husband went out of town and my sick disabled self had to take care of the farm alone, and naturally all kinds of crap went wrong.)
@nonlion @Pony Hugs! I remember that well. Granted I always took care of our farm alone. The Englishman is not a farmer. He’s not a fan of the husbandry. I got really sick once and that really illustrated how hard it is to run even a small farm. If I lived closer I would absolutely help you with all your chores!
@Pony It’s really quite elegant!
@Kyeh Thank you! That’s really what I was trying for with the finish and all.
@Pony Well I’m at least glad the week from hell is gone and done with On to more enjoyable weeks ahead!
@Pony nice! I’d definitely put that on a tree!
@Pony Nice!

A Squirrel’s Revenge
Mr. Nut didn’t want to have to do this. But when you mess with his family, you leave him no choice.
It was a week ago when Mr. Nut thought he brought his family to a safe place they could call home… and boy was he wrong. On the very first night, a vicious dog attacked his burrow and annihilated every single one of his family members. With cuts, bruises, and part of his insides missing, he was the only one to survive.
Seeking revenge, he captured the fairy pig for “ransom”. You see, the fairy pig is little miss kitty’s prized pet. Mr. Nut instructed kitty to kill the vicious dog and rid of him forever… and if kitty chooses not to cooperate, the fairy pig will breathe its last breath.
For now, we wait to see how the story ends…
Inspiration:
I’ve been racking my brain on this challenge ever since it was announced. I have never monsterfied anything in my life and I have to admit, I was clueless. Everyday I kept saying, “never mind, forget it!”. And then this morning, I was looking at my dog’s basket of toys and the squirrel was just looking at me. And boom!!! Idea was created and even my story is based on a true story haha My dog quite literally annihilated the burrow of squirrel toys I brought home for him… and only this one “survived”. So I just went with it! Also, I have a two year old so I stayed away from blood type things so it can still look cute
Measurements:
LxWxH = 5x3x6
Materials:
Old squirrel dog toy (main character)
Old fairy pig cat toy (innocent one)
Black yarn (made pom pom for ski mask)
Black weird sock (for ski mask)
Black hair tie (hold down ski mask)
Green plastic toddler play fork toy (weapon)
$$$ spent:
All of these were laying around my house, so essentially I spent $0!

@ferial It’s you!!! So happy to see you in here!
@sillyheathen what are you talking about? I don’t know you…
Haha psyche!!! Hi there
@ferial I realized I labeled the knife as a “fork”…
@ferial get outta town!!!
@ferial I absolutely adore this. Well done.
@ferial
I love it, it cute.
@ferial The cat looks quite a bit scarier than either the “vicious dog” or the monstrous ornament!
@Kyeh you’re absolutely right haha
@ferial I love this ornament and the adorable pet photobombs
@ferial Don’t get me wrong, the ornament is very well done! But your story was so intriguing, I want to know how it ends!! Don’t leave us on this cliff hanger! I like the idea of staying away from blood. I, myself, like to make cutesy monsterified items and I think you really nailed it in both categories. You certainly don’t need blood to make something monsterified!
@nonlion aww thank you so much!
@ferial that cat is plotting murder.
@brainmist guess that’s how the story ends
@ferial I think I bought the same squirrel burrow for my dog with the same result. I love that you used stuff that was laying around and the pig is so cute.
1 - got this wooden coaster in a BOC or Irk. Hei Hei came from a fast food joint.
2 - Moana should have taken that one dude’s advice and just ate the chicken.
3 - approx 5"x5"
4 - $0 spent
@medz that shit is tight. You should definitely win, cuz.
@zdem Thanks, blood. Good lookin’ out.
@medz I love this would. 100% would hang on tree!
@medz Very well done!
@medz That is spectacular. The knife is great.
@sammydog01 thanks. I’m real proud of the cardboard and aluminum foil knife. I totally didn’t muck it up and have to start from scratch either…
@marylynne7
@marylynne7 inspiration: I already put all my favorite ornaments on the tree, so anything left in the box was fair game. I went through the box, saw this little guy, and thought “huh. I wonder what it would look like if his sleigh was full of severed heads?“
Money spent: $0. I had the ornament, and I’m an early childhood teacher so I had a whole drawer of little tiny figurines I could saw the heads off of.
Measurement: 4 x 3 1/2 x 2“.
I was getting impatient waiting for the red paint to dry, and then I thought “well if they were real severed heads, there would be blood everywhere!“ I’ve never done this kind of thing, I don’t think of myself as creative, but I thought What a great opportunity to go outside my comfort zone and try something new.
@marylynne7 I love how on first glance you might miss that it’s dark and twisty Christmas!
@marylynne7 Lovely job! Or should I say…horrifying Job
@marylynne7 That’s very inspired! Quite a transformation - but more true a bear’s real nature, you could say!
@marylynne7 I love it!
@marylynne7 love this!!! What a great idea! He’s so adorable and scary at the same time. And wow… what eyebrows can do to a face! How’s everyone’s eyebrows doing?
@ferial @marylynne7
/giphy scary raised eyebrows
@ferial @Kidsandliz @marylynne7
Say what now!?
@Kidsandliz @marylynne7 @sillyheathen okay that’s impressive!
@marylynne7 I absolutely love this!
@hugeopossum thank you all so much! I got such a kick out of this. I’m pretty pleased, and Was surprised it turned out so well. It is absolutely on my Christmas tree
@ferial @Kidsandliz @marylynne7
@sillyheathen I’m guessing that’s the look your kids get when you’re displeased with them?!
@ferial @Kidsandliz @Kyeh @marylynne7
And you know this!
@marylynne7 So cool! Congrats!
One day Santa’s sleigh broke down. It was very cold and Blitzen was afraid poor Santa would freeze. So he made a nice warm backpack for Santa.
Santa survived and delivered all the presents to all the good little boys and girls.
Blitzen was never the same.
@sammydog01 Bought a two pack of crappy plushies at the dollar twenty-five cent store. I have a large inventory of tiny skulls for some reason.
@sammydog01 Looks like one of my usual reindeer nightmares.
@sammydog01 Yes, for some unguessable, unknowable reason, you have a large inventory of tiny skulls. Sometimes things just happen for no reason at all…
@sammydog01 how big is this?
@medz
@sammydog01 Wow, ok. Thanks.
@sammydog01 this is scary awesome!
VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
@sammydog01 he still looks like he’s having a good time though!
Tells us about your item
Just a small set of slightly spooky ornaments! I’m pretty pleased with the spider web (may be hard to see)
2 - What was your inspiration / vision? A cheap bad art gift exchange. And desperation.
3 - about 3-4" diameter, <1 inch deep
4 - the icicles were bought after a previous Christmas because I thought they’d make good hair sticks, but they were to flexible. I probably paid 25 cents for the 3-4 boxes I had so… Maybe about 1-2 cents per ornament?
I also had the giant confetti from Halloween cards. That was about 4 more cents per for the spider and the skull.
And half a glue stick.
So let’s call it 20 cents or so.
They went over so well I ended up doing sets for friends. And now I need to restock so I can send one out in the next mehtizen exchange!
@brainmist Love these! Very creative
@evlpixi It would be a fun and easy project with kids, too!
@brainmist The Blair Witch movie scared the crap out of me so thanks for the flashbacks. The spiderweb is great.
@sammydog01 heh. Now I know what to send you if I ever get your name in an exchange!
I call his when the carolers interrupt D&D.
I got the doll head and dice at the Dollar “twenty five” Tree. i had a small stocking that I made her hat from. Everything cost about $3. deminsions 4x4x6 in.
@WernerMeh Yeah. Yay. Dollar twenty five tree! I’ve started calling it that now too and people keep saying but it’s still the dollar tree (as in that’s still it’s name), but it’s all $1.25 each now….so yeah $1.25 tree lol! Glad I’m not the only one. Also…love this gal
@WernerMeh love her!
@WernerMeh Nice!
So this is what I call naughty spider. I actually had all the craft materials at home as I bead for fun. I made bigger spiders for Halloween (seen in the third photo) and was making snowflakes for Christmas anyway, so combined the two….just made the snowflake look a bit more like a web. The Santa is from a kinder joy egg. So technically my cost to make was $0, finished size is 4” round (the snowflake frame is 4”, so it made measuring easy! Poor Santa has been caught by this giant spider. And in the last photo, some larger spiders are watching.
@savvysapphire beautiful beadwork!
@savvysapphire very clever!
@marylynne7 @ferial thank you!!
@savvysapphire
That’s beautiful in its creepy way! I’m a beader too, so this might be my favorite one.
@Kyeh thank you! I had to use my favorite way to craft for my monsterfied ornament!
@savvysapphire i love the flamingo ornament!!!
@savvysapphire NO NOT SANTA. That spider is really pretty.
This Santa was made from a “dead” light bulb. It is 4.5”x2.25”x1.75”. It cost me nothing to make because I’m a big fan of reusing and recycling whatever trash I can find a use for. I guess you could say that was my inspiration.
The bulb was reborn with paper mache added for durability and to give it a paintable surface. A hand made Santa hat was added to finish the look, keep his head warm, and brains in.
Materials used:
Burnt-out candelabra bulb
Junk mail flyers for paper mache
Material for Santa hat (from an old pair of shorts that I had cut up)
Mod podge, paint, hot glue, wire, pom pom and fur for the hat (I already had all these in my craft supplies)
@evlpixi love how when the tree lights are on, it sorta glows!
@evlpixi Love it! Santa is old enough, he should be a zombie by now
@evlpixi so creepy with the lights!!!
@evlpixi creepy
@evlpixi
I love it very creative and crafty.
@evlpixi Great recycling!
@evlpixi Spooky! This is one I would buy at a craft sale.
@melanie413 He looks so proud of himself… hehehe I love it.
@melanie413 love the fully red mustache! Great ornament!
@Pony he enjoys being evil. Lol.
@melanie413 Box of heads, great idea!
@melanie413
I love that you included you son in it.
I’ve stayed out of this thread so as to not accidentally cop any inspiration from anywhere else. But there’s no minute like the last minute to get things done. So I present to you:
I Wanna Rock N’ Roll All Night (And Sleigh Every Day)
I went shopping for ornaments with a general idea that I wanted a Santa holding one hand up and then something horrific he could display. I lucked upon this creepy ass sequined Santa and this sleepy little reindeer and I decided this was a chance to see what it looks like if Santa joined KISS and ripped reindeer heads from their bodies.
He is 5.5" x 2.5" x 5.75" and lists slightly to his right.
I spent about $16: $4 on two $2 ornaments, $6 on 5 pounds of clay (couldn’t find sculpey) that I wound up using about half an ounce of, and $6 on paints and handy little palette trays. The hot glue and paintbrushes I already had.
Some photos of the source material to follow.
I thought I had a better picture of the sleepy little reindeer but nope.
I first made a spine of clay but it looked too cartoons and was also too fragile. So I took Santa’s wreath and cut it up and glued it into the decapitated reindeer head. I made some extra torn skin from clay and tore it after putting it on for the look I wanted.
Then I sculpted hot glue onto the overgrown pipe cleaner spine for the level of gore I wanted. I repainted the deer for less sparkle and a more appropriate face, and of course painted the guts.
I removed the glitter tumor from Santa’s face and regretted it, it was hard work and then looked less creepy. But I already thought the silver sequin suit looked a little crazy so I decided to try the kiss look.
@djslack Wow! Great idea!
Super scary!
@djslack that poor reindeer. My son asked if that was the reindeer that ran over grandma.
@djslack
Love it
@djslack haha omg this is amazing
@djslack this is sooooo darn good!!!
@djslack I’m still behind on this thread- made mine with a couple hours to spare except not really because I got the end date wrong. I love how the reindeer looks so dead. Nice job.
This is a hand-crocheted bear. The vision was to create something that has a “creepy” feel to it without being overly scary or gruesome. He has a soft and friendly, almost welcoming, face, while his wear-tear-repair speaks to a different story…
Size: 5" x 3" x 1"
Materials bought: Brown yarn ($4), buttons for eyes ($4)
Materials owned: red & white yarn, black string, fiber fill (stuffing), old makeup
@burgis That’s fantastic! It looks very professional, but so unique.
@burgis Wow! This nails tastefully creepy!
@burgis Aw! Simultaneously super cute and reminds me of the main fetus in a jar in Nightmare Alley!
@burgis I am sort of in love with this little guy! how cutely creepy!
@burgis
You did such an awesome job, I hope you win.
MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!
@burgis I love this little guy.
@burgis oh my goodness I want him. Mine, please! It’s soooo cute! I can’t even!!!
This is my favorite one. I love it so much.
@burgis so thrilled you won - your ornament is phenomenal and if I saw that in a store I would buy it in a second! Mad skills there, truly love it!!
Okay everyone time is officially up… I will pick the winners later today… stay tuned!!!
My NOT entry but wanted to share anyway…plus a snowman I created for a work contest.
@cbilyak That snowman is great. Did it win?
@sammydog01 it won most creative. Judges said they were torn on most realistic or creative, LOL. Definitely not even close in the traditional category.
@cbilyak Too bad they didn’t have a most twisted category. Maybe next year.
I ended up getting really sick with a migraine this weekend and couldn’t do anything so I’ll post mine later today just for fun.
I want to say good luck to everyone! All of you made some really unique and truly monsterified ornaments, and I don’t envy @koolhandjoe with having to choose only a few winners. Congrats to everyone for the time and effort you all put into your ornaments; you all should be very proud of yourselves
@nonlion I was really happy that so many people entered.
So the time has come for judgment… everyone did amazing… this was soooo hard… but the winners are:
@burgis
@marylynne7
@cbilyak
Now please bear with me… we sadly we had a death in the family last week and my wife is having to take on extra roles due to her mom having stage 4 cancer and some additional cognitive issues… so I am a a bit behind on everything in life at the moment… so it will take a couple of weeks for me to get the winning IRKS out… but I will let ya’ll know when they are shipped.
Everyone who participated should be so proud of themselves… they all were fantastic. I can’t wait to do another challenge hopefully soon!.. infact let me know what type of themes yall would like to do!
Congrats, jerks.
@Koolhandjoe I am so sorry your family is struggling with such hard things during this christmas season. Take care.
@Koolhandjoe congratulations to the winners. Well deserved! My favorite won, too, so yay! And I’m sorry for the death in your family. Please take care!
@Koolhandjoe Condolences and hugs to you and yours.
Excellent job winners and runners up! I think I would have to random pick to decide.
@Koolhandjoe I’m so sorry for your loss!
Congrats to the winners! There were some gorgeous entries…I’m sure it was hard!
@Koolhandjoe I’m so very sorry to hear of your family’s troubles… much love to all of you.
@Koolhandjoe these are all amazing choices!
I’m so sorry for your loss
@Koolhandjoe sorry for your loss and the struggles for your family, may peace be with you all and the tough times get easier soon.
I wanted to say before but didn’t want it to come across as kiss-assy begging to win: This was great fun to do, and a project I really wish I’d done better at prioritizing because it was such a blast once I finally started making headway and seeing my creation come to life. I may not have horror in my blood naturally but twisting innocent things into dark creations is a pretty good time.
Congratulations to all the winners, your victory is well deserved!
@djslack i really liked yours… and i am a huge KISS fan… you should be very happy with it… i am glad people are having fun with these challenges… i know the horror thing is not for everyone… but to see yours and everyone elses creativity is so great… and honestly brings a lot of joy to me.
@djslack @Koolhandjoe I have no idea how you stuck to three. There were so many good ones! Really great stuff so congratulations to everyone as well as the winners!
KHJ I’m really and truly sorry that you’re having to go through the things you are. The holidays are stressful to begin with. Hopefully you find some light in this and have some rest and relief soon. Biggest hugs!
@Koolhandjoe I am so very sorry to hear the sad news of loss, illness, and emotion you and your family are going through. Whatever us Mehtizens can do to help, just let us know.
@Koolhandjoe I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I can relate, as my mom’s side of the family has suffered several losses around the holidays over the years. Most recently, we lost one of her closest brothers, my uncle, last month. It definitely gives the holidays a bittersweet feeling to feel their absence, but also to know they are in a better place. My condolences and best wishes for you and yours.
I do want to congratulate the winners. Everyone did amazing, but that little bear was definitely my personal favorite. Great job @burgis! I didn’t get to participate this time around, but I definitely will next time. Might I suggest a Valentine’s Day themed challenge for the next one? Whatever the theme, I’m sure it’ll be fun.
@Koolhandjoe So sorry for you and your wife. Thank you so much for running this contest- it was really fun and got me off the sofa.
@burgis @Koolhandjoe @LucyPS
Theme - breaking my heart?
Congrats to all the winners! Now try explaining these ornaments on your trees to family, friends…
@Kidsandliz I’m totally going to try to sneak mine onto a tree while visiting family.
@medz Coward. LOL “sneak”, “not your tree”… Be sure to blame it on someone else if caught. Like @koolhandjoe. Just tell them he made you do it.
@Koolhandjoe
Very sorry for your loss and the hardship your family is dealing with. The holidays should be a time of joy and celebration not a time of sorrow. I wish you and your family the best this holiday season and sending good thoughts and positive energy your way.
Yes a broken hearts challenge would be awesome, have everybody show their Valentine’s Day massacre. (My basement and craft room will for sure be set up by then or I’ll be out on the street lol)
@Koolhandjoe I am so sorry for the tragic times your family is going through. Sending you warm thoughts and well wishes for comfort. Struggles are always difficult, but during the holidays are so much more impactful, it seems.
Thank you for having this contest. It was great fun, although I, too, wish I had started a bit earlier. Procrastination has always been an enemy of mine. The creations entered were awesome! Congratulations to the amazing winners! I can’t wait for the next one.
MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!

@Koolhandjoe, I’m very sorry about the sad times you and your family are going through. I hope this contest gave you a bit of an entertaining distraction.
Second that. I’m so sorry for your loss. You’ve got a community (albeit pretty much an awful one and also almost entirely online). If we can help? Let us know.
