Killer hand sanitizer?
0Bought the Blumen brand hand sanitizer in July, used it for a socially distant, Covid-careful wedding and rehearsal dinner this weekend. Learned today it’s been recalled because it contains methanol and is on FDA warning list as potentially “dangerous,” even “deadly.”
Recall was a week ago, not a word from Meh.
Caveat emptor.

As I noted in the forum … I’m a moron. I apologize. Both of my boys were married on the last two consecutive Saturdays, and it’s been a little stressful.
Turns out one of the fiances brought sanitizer to our house for the rehearsal dinner, and I started making assumptions … And the details are more than anyone needs to hear, but suffice it to say that the sanitizer I purchased from you is not the same brand as the brand on the FDA list supplied by the fiance.
I hope you’ll let me remain an occasional customer. I promise I’m not normally this stupid.

Welcome, I’m a moron too- at least sometimes, and if I had to even attend, much less be in the immediate family of the couple for 2 COVID-era weddings on consecutive weekends, I’d be a gibbering mess, and making a lot bigger error than you have.

Life Hack: Don’t drink hand sanitizer. That said, I did get some at work that smells a lot like Tequila. But, again, don’t ingest methanol and you won’t go blind and die.
@accelerator Apparently, the methanol can be absorbed through the skin. With the amount of hand sanitizer people are using these days, the amount absorbed can be meaningful.

People are drinking it.
I would be pretty shocked if absorption through skin is worse than inhalation. I also suspect that the amount of ethanol we expose kids to through inhalation is bad.
So wash your hands with soap.
