@hchavers Yep, we do spot cleaning of the hardwood (spills, etc.) but the house cleaner (every other week) and the robot (several times a week) do the regular maintenance.
I mop when the floor starts looking slightly dirty, which is once every 2-3 months because I don’t wear shoes indoors, have pets, or throw food on the floor.

These days I don’t do it at all, using a forearm crutch to walk makes doing floors inconvenient to say the least. But I’m lucky because my guy is OBSESSED with cleaning the floors! He dry mops them at least once a day and damp mops 2-3 times a week. And should the cat shed some fur then he’s on it again.
TBT, he does a better job than I ever did! After almost 35 years he says I taught him well. I’ve never had floors so clean! 🫧 He’s a keeper!
@Kyeh@mycya4me@rockblossom
My cat has those same vocal cords, he sounds just like that except he does it two inches from my face. At 4am!! And when I’m really out the tickling from his whiskers wakes me up before the sound!
… and of course I wouldn’t trade him for anything!
@Lynnerizer@mycya4me@rockblossom
I assume he’s trying to wake you up? Mine sometimes just gets on my chest and stands there with all 15 lbs. of his weight on his pokey little feet - ouch! But yeah, I think they know they have us completely besotted.
@Kyeh@mycya4me@rockblossom
Yeah, God forbid he’s awake without me being awake too! Lol Tuc weighs 15 lbs too and 15 lbs feels SO MUCH heavier when you’re sound asleep!
Vacuum and mop the floors twice a month same with full cleaning of bathrooms. Kitchen I pretty much clean off all the counters after cooking so the rest gets done when it needs.
@Star2236
My guy cleans the bathroom (the entire thing, toilet, sink, floor and all) every gosh darn day! I could see it if we were making a mess or something, or sick… At this point it’s just a waste of cleaning products as far as I’m concerned! I mean there’s ONLY the two of us, no little kids. Guess I’d rather have it this way then not at all!
@Lynnerizer Is he a Virgo, by any chance? I don’t buy into the whole astrology thing, as a rule, but he sounds a lot like my father, who was born in September, so that one tracked! Lol
Never; they’re hard floors and should make do with a sweep (or a damp towel). The concept of dragging a bucket of water across a floor with wood beneath it frightens me with nightmares of mold.
Me? Never. The hired help do a fine job, and much better than I could do.
@hchavers The help is so amazing at it.

Only when they need it and that can vary from several times a day to every week or two, depending on weather or how messy i managed to be.

@brennyn I wear shoes indoors but they are my indoor shoes.

Totally depends on the room and type of hard floor
I’ll be one who says it… vacuuming take care of most problems. Mopping needs are few and far between.
@haydesigner same
@haydesigner @ragingredd
Agreed - plus most of my floors are carpeted.

@IndifferentDude Wow. (Don’t tell @DrunkCat!
)
@IndifferentDude @ircon96 I don’t see an image. Try running the command again.
@DrunkCat @ircon96 It’s posted directly above!
@IndifferentDude @ircon96 Just a blank square.
@DrunkCat Here it is again.
If it still doesn’t show I can try to whisper it to you.
@IndifferentDude only seems to work if you do the slash command again

@Lynnerizer You won the man lottery, gurrl! Considering your misfortune in other areas of life, I’d say you deserve him!
@chienfou @ircon96 @Kyeh
Sometimes I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!
Thank you, I agree!
Murder mop bot works nightly
My wife is anal about the floors, so I allow that.
@sylvandoc What a unique cleaning regimen.
/showme a cat mopping the floor.
@mediocrebot When you are a ginger-haired orphan, it’s a hard-knock life of mopping floors.
@mediocrebot @rockblossom I have seen such a sad looking cat before, yes it is a hard life.
@mycya4me @rockblossom
This is how a cat mops the floor!
@mycya4me @rockblossom
I wish mine would do that.

@ircon96 @Lynnerizer
That’s fucking awesome. I hate cleaning the bathroom. Men need to learn to pee IN the toilet.
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
When the housekeeper does it
or prn spillage
No wood floors to mop.
