@SteveOOO Crazy sharp is correct sir, I have never (until my Cold Steel Folding Bushman arrived a couple of weeks ago, it was the sharpest (of many previous) knife I ever received out of the box. Fortunately no blood was drawn.
@RedOak In for another one- I was just trying to figure out why I might need 2! SteveOOO neglected to mention that they sharpen them for FREE as long as you own it and they're in business... Although I suppose it WAS implied :-) I lost a screw from one of my other Meh Kershaw knives and emailed them for a replacement screw, now I'm just awaiting it's arrival, so although customer service isn't something you would think necessary for a knife, their lifetime commitment to owners of their knives can be really helpful.
@PhysAssist@SteveOOO I haven't dug out one of my Kershaw manuals - but I assume you have to pay shipping to Kershaw while they cover shipping back to you, correct?
@DaveInSoCal I was amazed and thrilled to finally be able to afford a Kershaw of any pedigree, and you're trash talking it??!!?? Though, to be honest, since I already have one, it would take about the same price point for me to buy another one. It is a really awesome piece of metal though.
@PhysAssist I'm actually not trash talking it at all. I have several kershaws and don't really need another. If they were priced as I mentioned above I'd be compelled to buy one anyway.
@PhysAssist Maybe you don't have Big5 where you are from. Its a sporting good store and they always have some knives around $10-15. They are good enough to cut stuff but after owning a quality knife like a Kershaw, you can tell the difference and it will last longer.
@Dengue Now I do understand, but we do not have Big5's and as witnessed in several other places on this page, I have a couple Kershaws, (with another Funxion on the way) and have been awe of the brand for as long as I have been able to get a knife store to let me hold one from inside the case, so I feel what you're saying!
@RedOak that's right dammit... after all, i'm a texan and i did, in the past week, buy a knife from that other site and just last night i bought a shotgun.
@Kerig3 well then, I guess you're on the anti-gun side of things. Sincerely did not know which way you went. And it was a joke, sincerely sorry it hurt.
@SteveOOO What means this word hording?, Oh wait, I googled it... It bes meaning a large group of peoples... Word OriginC16: from Polish horda, from Turkish ordū camp; compare Urdu...
@johnamo Nope- Funxion- as in multi-function... In this case, multi- meaning two, vs some of the other Funxion models with more multi in their functions...
@eyewerks Selling guns on the internet is a big damn hassle. Also, people complained when Irk was smoking. If Meh offered a gun their heads would explode.
8Cr13MoV is a chinese copy of AUS8 so it's pretty much the same but a lower quality version.
AUS 8 is A Japanese stainless steel, with surperb toughness and good edge holding capabilities. This steel is fairly easy to sharpen and generally low cost with great corrosion resistance. Rockwell hardness 57-58
@CrossIT people claim that everything made in china must be some clone or copy of an american or japanese product. First of all: There is Europe as well and 8Cr13MoV is a European steel designation. Also 8Cr13MoV is not a "clone" of AUS-8. Anyone that thinks that is not correct. The chemistry's are quite different. They are similar in some of their characteristics... From: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/542008-8Cr13MoV/
@givemeyoursoul Or some Cold Steel products- I actually like my CS and Kershaw blades better than the couple of CRKT knives I own (was able to afford) FWIW.
@ponagathos Nope, it has been my EDC since it arrived and it is perfect for the that use. Although the DIY or EMT would more htan likely be more practical for me....
@ponagathos The saw is actually pretty useful because of it's unique serrations, I basically use it as I would use any other serrated blade f or cutting rope, and other coarse materials that don't exactly just slice easily.
OK, people out there buying up the knives: what are you all knifing with them? I'm trying to talk myself into this (or the next one, since this seems certain to sell out).
@derpandabar hopefully you're insurance will take care of that... but you need the knife to get you out of the car... I need to stop rationalizing these purchases lol
@derpandabar I jumped on the Kershaw with the beer opener, so bottlecaps, mostly. I open my other Meh packages with it as well... I have to say, its one of the nicest knives I've ever carried, and at 14$, it was an insane deal.
@Dengue I love a good kitchen knife and I'd be lost without scissors. I'm just curious the uses people find for all of these so-called edc knives. Then again, I carry foldable scissors with me. So perhaps the answer is that I need to go to the daily deal scissors site? Or that I need to buy this to off myself since it's "too late for me"? I've got my kitchen knives and scissors for that.
@derpandabar Haha. Yeah some people just like having one on them at all times for any situation including defense. I used to even carry mine at work but I realized that I was scratching my car door almost every time I got in.
@derpandabar interesting. I read "probably too late for you" in the sense of teaching old dogs new tricks, rather than something akin to Hunger Games or Logan's Run.
I'm usually a big fan of Kershaw knives, but I just can't with this one because honestly I don't need a saw on a knife and we already have a big variety of multitools. Love Kershaw though. If Meh offered a deal on a CRKT knife I'd jump on that in a heartbeat also.
The one knife deal I really regretted missing on Meh was the Zwilling Henckels set of Pure kitchen knives. The Henckels Pure are vastly superior to the Wusthof I've been using. So many knives, and so little time... The knife deals are a big part of why I keep coming back to Meh.
Grabbed one of these last time around. Haven't done much but flip it a bit, and cut open some packages, but its got a nice sturdy feel to it... Speedsafe is fun to play with :)
A couple of things of note:
the saw blade does not have a lock. Not really a big deal in my opinion.
the carabiner is the release lock for the main blade. If the carabiner is deployed, the knife is locked closed. Not a great design in my opinion, for a speedsafe knife with a flipper. If the carabiner is not deployed, the only thing keeping the blade closed is the speedsafe. And if you bump the flipper just a bit too far, that blade is popping out with some force. You do not want to be carrying this in your pocket with the carabiner folded in.
@TheLunk All my other assisted opening knives have what end up being essentially ineffective closure locks, and have never had a safety issue, but then again, they are not Kershaws, ergo the risk of instantaneous traumatic amputation
@PhysAssist. ..is much less. That being said, listen to the man, and don't drop this into a loose coat or bag pocket without fliping out the 'biner but in your jeans pocket, the pocket clip is just fine, because there isn't room for inadvertent openings...
@TheLunk "If the carabiner is deployed, the knife is locked closed. Not a great design in my opinion, for a speedsafe knife with a flipper."
To me, that sounds like a good design feature. If the knife is clipped to a D-ring, belt loop, webbing, etc., I wouldn't want it to spring open when bumped and have a live blade bouncing around. YMMV, I suppose.
@nadroj Sorry, I could have been clearer. The knife locking closed with the carabiner open isn't where I have the issue. The issue is that with the carabiner closed, there is no other safety to prevent the blade opening. If I'm carrying this knife in a in a pocket/purse/glove compartment, I probably don't want the carabiner deployed, but there's no other safety lock. Just pointing it out as it does diminish its function for me, as I personally wouldn't pocket carry it that way. If you always use the carabiner for carry, there isn't really a problem.
@TheLunk. ..and in my coat pocket, EDC bag, and other (spaces adequate to allow unintended deployment of dangerously (IMEAN IT) usefully sharp blade), There is also plenty of room for the biner to be flipped out. If room there isn't adequate for biner deployment, there isn't room for the blade either (e.g., my front jeans pocket supported by the clip)
Meh. A knife without a toothpick and tweezers just won't cut it. How the heck will I be able to clean between my teeth and pluck out unruly eyebrow hairs in the wilds? I'm not a savage!
Kershaw. SpeedSafe. 4.5 on Amazon with the only obvious complaint being about the saw blade that I'll never use. $14. Wow, I bought another knife. What a quaint-unvarying-experience.
@Romulux Me toos for my second- see rationale (actually more like -ization) above! With confirmation code: Tan-Mannerly-Malt, it's a DOUBLE beer knife win-win!!
@pajamma you could put a "for" or an "if" somewhere in there, depending on your intent. They also could have added "like a dick" as another small body part.
Not to <1% of us. I personally will buy any Kershaw speedsafe they put on here under $20 every time. The white non assisted one from a few weeks back was a deal under $10 too. It's nice to be able to have a decent blade at a junk knife price just to use and not worry about it.
Got mine. It is lovely. Take care when opening it, mine has a nick in the anodized coating on the backside. I'm going to blame my careless use of my little knife in slicing the plastic between the knife and cardboard.
A bit bulky for full time pocket duty but i got it for camping type use.

You call that a Knife???
THIS.... is a knife
@lichme there is no spoon
@lichme That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.
@lichme
@DaveInSoCal spoon is all you need.
@lichme From my QuickTime v1.0 Developer's CD. Mark Petrakis declairs: "I am SpoonMan"
@lichme I see you've played knifey spooney before
@lichme I see you've played knifey spoony before.
@lichme
What's so great about these knives, aside from the baby arm compatibility?
@heartny they're practically switchblades. You barely touch them and they pop open. Not to mention they're crazy sharp.
@SteveOOO Crazy sharp is correct sir, I have never (until my Cold Steel Folding Bushman arrived a couple of weeks ago, it was the sharpest (of many previous) knife I ever received out of the box. Fortunately no blood was drawn.
@PhysAssist I didn't realize it until I read the insert, Kershaw will sharpen these for life. Just mail it back to them.
@SteveOOO that is a nice touch. So order two so you have one for the time the other is being Kershaw-sharpened!
@PhysAssist @SteveOOO I haven't dug out one of my Kershaw manuals - but I assume you have to pay shipping to Kershaw while they cover shipping back to you, correct?
I would buy one at $7. Possibly $9.
@DaveInSoCal Megadittoes, I wasn't sure of your intent, I retract my comment... See my edited comment above, re: our parallel thought processes...
@PhysAssist Big5 sells crappy knives for that price, go buy one of them and wait until it breaks and buy another one I guess.
@Dengue Huh? WhatchutalkingboutWillis?
@PhysAssist Oh. Big 5. Its just like Sports Authority but shittier but much cheaper generally; and they sell guns.
@Dengue Mmmmm Guns!!!!
First time I've seen more Texans than Californians buying.
@bruno187 Yeah, funny. Texans are already bristling with knives.
@PocketBrain And guns. (go on, hate on me, I don't care)
@Kerig3 we'll decide whether or not to like you once we know if you think it is good that Texans have lots of guns and knives.
@RedOak that's right dammit... after all, i'm a texan and i did, in the past week, buy a knife from that other site and just last night i bought a shotgun.
@RedOak I believe I said that "I don't care" what you think of what I said. Is that too difficult to understand?
@Kerig3 well then, I guess you're on the anti-gun side of things. Sincerely did not know which way you went. And it was a joke, sincerely sorry it hurt.
@RedOak Didn't hurt, so no sweat. I just didn't want a debate started....that's not what Meh is for.
And there's the baby arm! Yuuussss
I do not need this knife. Saw blades on knives are useless.
But oh yes, alternative-mixed-maid, I bought this knife. Because KNIFE.
@escapecar and because Kershaw!
@PhysAssist Also true. KERSHAW!
I never thought I'd say I have too many knives. Thanks to meh I look like a knife hording psychopath.
@SteveOOO remember... when knives are outlawed...you'll be one of the first ones they come after..
@eeterrific They won't be out-lawed. It will be via Executive Order.
@RedOak LOL. Don't worry, nobody's coming after your knives. Not after considering what's in your sock drawer.
@SteveOOO What means this word hording?, Oh wait, I googled it... It bes meaning a large group of peoples... Word OriginC16: from Polish horda, from Turkish ordū camp; compare Urdu...
Funxion? ... do they think that's clever?
@johnamo - Maybe it's pronounced 'funyon'.
@johnamo I always misread it as Funyuns.
@johnamo Nope- Funxion- as in multi-function... In this case, multi- meaning two, vs some of the other Funxion models with more multi in their functions...
Know the joke? I heard an actress by the name of...um...Reese.....got stabbed. Oh, Witherspoon? Nope, it was with a knife....
@eeterrific First base!
@SIMBM I don't know...
I saw a knife and immediately hit buy. I guess you could say I was hit by a breathtaking-graphic-smell.
These are gonna sell out fast. I know you guys don't want to be a knife shop, but it's got to be hard walking away from a guaranteed sellout.
Anyway the real question is will I end up ordering a 2nd?
Ask again later.
@Superjimtendo Well didja??
Meh is based in Texas, right?
How about selling us some fuckin' guns?
@eyewerks Selling guns on the internet is a big damn hassle. Also, people complained when Irk was smoking. If Meh offered a gun their heads would explode.
@givemeyoursoul The way I look at it, for each of their heads that explode that's one less round I have to waste. :)
@eyewerks
@eyewerks This has never been more appropriate: BOOM, HEADSHOT!
@eyewerks Mmmmm guns!!!! Moar plz
awful-sexy-rock
@VeeDubTDI M-E-O-W! now how do we get one of these Meh? and can you make it on 2 fur Tuesday PLEASSSSEEE!
@shata maybe you should just wait till cups are on sale again, cuz girl, you sound thurrsty.
@VeeDubTDI That is more like just plain awful, I feel durty!

Please ask your buyers to find some CRKT knives like woot. In other news, my knife budget this month was spent on crkt knives. At woot. That is all.
@givemeyoursoul Woot
@CrossIT INVOKE THE NAME OF THE DARK LORD AND HE SOON APPEARS! @UNIXRAB @UNIXRAB @UNIXRAB!
@givemeyoursoul
@givemeyoursoul Or some Cold Steel products- I actually like my CS and Kershaw blades better than the couple of CRKT knives I own (was able to afford) FWIW.
Maybe if that saw blade was a useful tool of some sort. I imagine this is just too heavy for its size otherwise.
Funxion EMT exists. Meh!
@huntd Funxion EMT Model 8100GRYST $ 59.99 Discontinued
@G1 And? Half of what gets sold here is broke-dick discontinued stuff.
@huntd I have the emt, and it's great, but the only reasons I like it are the seat belt cutter and the glass breaker. Makes this one kinda meh.
@huntd I was also gonna beg for the EMT. missed it last time at that other site.
Every time we sell knives...
@JonT
Meh, who am I kidding I bought one.
OK, people out there buying up the knives: what are you all knifing with them? I'm trying to talk myself into this (or the next one, since this seems certain to sell out).
@derpandabar boxes, letters, pumpkins... seatbelts when my car flips over regularly
@viper1x I feel like the answer is I should keep my money and save for a new car?
@derpandabar hopefully you're insurance will take care of that... but you need the knife to get you out of the car... I need to stop rationalizing these purchases lol
@derpandabar I jumped on the Kershaw with the beer opener, so bottlecaps, mostly. I open my other Meh packages with it as well... I have to say, its one of the nicest knives I've ever carried, and at 14$, it was an insane deal.
@derpandabar If you are an adult and don't know the value of a cutting tool, its probably too late for you.
@septag0n I'm not into beer but the package opening is a fair answer.
@Dengue I love a good kitchen knife and I'd be lost without scissors. I'm just curious the uses people find for all of these so-called edc knives. Then again, I carry foldable scissors with me. 6 bucks less than amazon if you include Meh shipping.
Bought it and signed up for VMP... dammit
@viper1x oh no...
Hrrmmmm.... want but shouldn't. I still have way many knives.
@PocketBrain What does this comment "way too many knives" mean, I am unfamiliar with the conceptan
@donnameh @Pocketbrain .... Meant to say I am unfamiliar with the concept of too many knives, but I can't spell and can't edit properly on my old ipad.
@PocketBrain NO SUCH TING!!!!!
Get out of bed with Kershaw Meh! She is making you do dumb things and offer crappy deals.
I'm good with knives as long as it stops you from selling speaker docks.
@Gaijin it won't.
@RedOak my, how right you were.
Where are my socks god damnit?!
Baby Arm.
I'm usually a big fan of Kershaw knives, but I just can't with this one because honestly I don't need a saw on a knife and we already have a big variety of multitools. Love Kershaw though. If Meh offered a deal on a CRKT knife I'd jump on that in a heartbeat also.

Buy several and have a sing-a-long!

"We wish we knew how to cut you off" *Well with the glowing, nubby ball thingie and this.......I'd say you are getting very warm*
@shata 3+ for the ball-thing but -4 for the Kershaw knife comment.
Hey, maybe you guys should sell a knife sharpener.
Woot is it? How much does it weigh ?
I've not ordered one because I'm not sure how good it'd be to send it from one of my friends in the US to Denmark via mail.
I never realized baby arm was so hard core.
lowdown-joyous-fruit
I can't believe I just bought this, but i'm trying to throw together a hiking backpack...
hey meh, add more hiking stuff, and i'm guaranteed to buy it.
Meh. A knife without a toothpick and tweezers just won't cut it. How the heck will I be able to clean between my teeth and pluck out unruly eyebrow hairs in the wilds?
I'm not a savage!
@Kerig3 With this you could shave them into shape. ...And what these teeth to which you referred??? We have tooth, but how does a pick help that?
Kershaw. SpeedSafe. 4.5 on Amazon with the only obvious complaint being about the saw blade that I'll never use. $14. Wow, I bought another knife. What a quaint-unvarying-experience.
@Romulux Me toos for my second- see rationale (actually more like -ization) above! With confirmation code: Tan-Mannerly-Malt, it's a DOUBLE beer knife win-win!!
sorry meh, I already have a knife, and we're both very happy together
Meh. How about some more awesome cups with straws? Or..... a weird spoon.
I'm buying one based on baby arm graphic alone
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
Mumble mumble CRKT mumble mumble in for one
You would think the George Red thing would die.
@StrangerDanger I am unfamiliar with George Red, but I hope he lives a long and fruitful life.
@jrwofuga "No, George, a red!"
plump-astounding-swallow
In for one!
@redfenix wow first time I've seen that grey lensman cover. Nice!
Bath
For all the attention given to copywriting here, it's surprising no one fixed the missing word in:
Small saw blade for sawing yourself free you get a small part of your body caught in a bear trap, like a pinky or your tongue
@pajamma you could put a "for" or an "if" somewhere in there, depending on your intent. They also could have added "like a dick" as another small body part.
Knives! But what is this madness where they haven't sold out yet at 8pm EST?
So my phone accidentally made me meh this. i wish i could unmeh it.
@djslack You can still buy after you click Meh, just click that link, however today is too late for that.
@PhysAssist oh i know that, i bought one before it meh'd. But i ruined my streak of not clicking meh since the first time i visited.
<1% of people bought = overpriced. Meh
Not to <1% of us. I personally will buy any Kershaw speedsafe they put on here under $20 every time. The white non assisted one from a few weeks back was a deal under $10 too. It's nice to be able to have a decent blade at a junk knife price just to use and not worry about it.
I'm in the market for a decent fixed blade in a somewhat large size. Make it happen meh
reminds me of a degree plan my parents warned me about.... artistic-cylindrical-twig
@bransonboyds My first major!!!
Got mine. It is lovely. Take care when opening it, mine has a nick in the anodized coating on the backside. I'm going to blame my careless use of my little knife in slicing the plastic between the knife and cardboard.
A bit bulky for full time pocket duty but i got it for camping type use.
Bought one for my brother as a birthday gift. So not to bad for the price.
Nice knife, and cool color. A bit heavy and the package was a bit tricky to cut open without nicking the knife.
