@Yakroot I know you've just been in a horrible accident so be still while stick this razor sharp knife between your chest and seatbelt. I'm a professional it'll be fine.
@kebabremoval I still say Cold Steel kicks major butt, I'd like those here, but alas it will ne'er happen. Cold Steel is the only company that publicly testes their knives the way most people use them- see for yourself... However, the disclaimer does still crack me up... After all what kind of profession is there that does what they do?? ...and how do I get that job??
Apparently it is in in the Constitution that Meh has the right to sell knives at least once a week. And they sure as hell aren't going to give up that right without a fight!
It's a really good thing my husband doesn't have an account on here! We'd have one (or more) of these. He loves the last Kershaw knife I got him from you guys! Oh wait...loathsome-paramount-holiday...guess we have one anyway.
These are awesome, great EDC if you commute/spend lots of time in the car. Too bad I bought 3 last time to use when my primary wears out - I'd love to pick up some more. I think I have a problem...
I have a kershaw funxion knife, the red not-EMT variety that just has a screwdriver/bottle opener instead of extra cutter + glass punch. It's okay, nice blade, pretty weighty for a pocket. But Kershaw's warranty support is utterly bullcrap and I am hesistant to buy anything from them again. The pocket clip disintegrated within a couple months of purchase and carrying it around, the first time i used it for anything serious beyond opening packages. Nearly took my finger off.
I sent a warranty request to the company and I didn't hear anything from them at all until I received a plain envelope in the mail with replacement clip and screws for the wrong knife, and in the wrong color. I sent another message to their support department, and they again didn't answer directly but sent me back the right color but still defective screws.
So: if it breaks, don't expect them to stand up properly to their limited lifetime warranty. As a company, they are apparently pretty incompetent. For $18, though, I suppose you could just buy another one, or do what I do and live without the pocket clip. I might even recommend taking it off yourself before it comes apart and tries to take your f**king fingers off.
@jiltant You have me interested, how did it almost cut your fingers? Is it because you were holding onto the clip with your index finger while using it when it came off, or did the metal actually fatigue and break and leave a sharp edge? Just curious what I have to watch for. Thanks!
@jiltant ...and my customer service experience with them mirrors yours but in a good way....I emailed their customer service, and without any BS or blather [or any other response- except to give me what I asked for] , they sent me the screws I needed to replace my clip AND extrys!! Now I have spares, and while I always mean to locktite my screws, I always forget and they come loose- Ya can't blame screws for coming loose- Like the Geico Ad says- It's what they do!! Does your screen name mean what I think it does? If so, then you oughter be used to the disappointment... Just Saying
@mehdaf No, it wasn't a metal break, it was crummy screws in crummy holes. The clip has a groove to seat your finger when holding the knife; one of the screws decided to fall out while I was cutting some bark off a piece of wood, causing the whole thing to pivot on the remaining screw and send the blade directly towards my fingers. Only some lucky reflex saved me from what would've been a big nasty cut. Afterwards I grabbed the clip and pulled lightly on it and the clip came completely free, the remaining screw just sliding straight out.
@lowlypeon Not a bad idea but I'm a little reluctant to do that. What if I want to remove or alter the clip in the future? What's so hard about making a product for which the screws don't just lift out of the mounting holes?
@PhysAssist I agree that minimal frills is good, but it would be nice if they'd answered the questions I'd asked on the warranty claim form, even if it was by a short printed or scribbled note stuck in the envelope. It hardly feels like a human was involved in the transaction at all, and I don't like that. Re: my screen name - let's just say it mirrors the level of expectation I have with big companys and their quality control, customer support, and honoring of warranties.
@lowlypeon Hah, well, I don't think it's the screw itself that's the problem, I think it's the choice of screw and the way the hole was threaded for it. :P
Why would they bother to include a bottle opener when it already has a fully functional glass breaker? Do people actually use the bottle opener to open bottles as a substitute? What is the age limit for this knife? 7 years old? 8?
Was the single size of hex wrench designed with some specific use in mind? Or was there just an extra bit of steel there and they needed more bullet points for the box?
I already have one of these - one point not made in the description is that the carabiner acts as a safety device. The knife will not open with the carabiner in the outward position. I personally like this feature, as you can clip it to the outsides of things without it randomly springing open.
@grmeyer Apparently Meh thinks most of us are Aichmomaniacs. At least speaker docks and Dyson vacuums are useful in the 21st century. The last time I needed a pocket knife was when I was 12 years old...
More knives again? I don't stab people or gut rabbits, it does not look like it is good for cutting veg. What would I do with this kind of knife? So, a meh for me. Lot's of times, the only reason to go on this is to read the comments, cause some of them are amusing.
I love it! Rafting five days a week. Not only does the serated portion cut rope but if small wood is needed for kindling it will do that as well. As for sharp purposes the blade glides through a trouts belly without hesitation. I use the carabiner when needed. At this price I would buy more if I could.
Is this emt knife missing a slot to quickly slice through seat belts? I thought that was standard in these emergency knives. What good is instantly breaking glass just to have to take all that time to saw through the seat belt while your vict- er, patient bleeds out?
I guess as long as I have a husband, a son and a future son-in-law and Meh keeps selling knives, I will keep buying three of them. I am now set for the next round of birthdays. mini-decorative-government - I like it and wouldn't mind having one.
@PhysAssist rubber grip and pocket clip fell off. Clip isn't hard to replace, but there's not really a way to get the rubber grip back on and it feel nice.
@lowlypeon Sorry to hear that, mine Funxion is my EDC and no failures at all. The little white scaled ones had the belt clip screws come loose, and the co was very quick to fix it. I prefer action to lip service.
I'm not a knife guy, but I get why people like them. What I don't understand the repeated demand for them. I mean, with the amount of times Meh. has offered them, doesn't everyone who wants a knife, have a knife by now? And didn't they have plenty of them before Meh.?
@ACraigL I think Meh hopes they have new customers coming to the site, customers who may not have already purchased this same knife and would appreciate it. The same is true for Roombas and Dysons. No one can explain the Speaker Docks...@cengland0
@ACraigL birthdays happen year 'round. (And I forget I bought something and put it away if there is too much lead time! Anybody want my extra DVD of the original "Highlander"?)
Needed a knife for opening MEH box shipments. Once I solve the paradox of getting this out of the box without a knife I think I'm all set. Oh -- stinky-latest-drug
@cengland0 Yeh, but "Tac-Force" = craptastic knives made of ?whatever steel they happened to have laying around, + from the Amazon blurb "New item with Assited Open Black Part Serrated Blade. Includes Glass Breaker and Seatbelt Cutter. 3.25 in. Blade."
@cengland0 Those generic knives are super shitty. I wouldn't pay five bucks for one. The brand stamped on it is irrelevant, they're all asian-made and resold.
As an EMT this knife will be carried around with me at work. It's funny to me because this Kershaw is in Tualatin Oregon, about 8 minutes from where I have lived for last 25 years. Meh first!
@mbatla lies!
@mbatla You are in training for the next "? Bag"
@Rumple hells yeah. Missed the last one by a minute. Felt like I got kicked in the nuts. Never again. I must break meh!
At least it's not another speaker dock.
@lljk I was really hoping for one today.
Dang, can I trade the one I bought with the crappy saw for this?
@Romulux yes. As soon as you send in the $18 trade-in fee.
@RedOak 100% restocking fee
@Romulux I work outdoors and i actually use that little dinky saw all the time! I feel like having a cord cutter on a knife is sort of redundant, no?
@Yakroot for my purposes bottle opener > saw blade any day.
@Yakroot Hey! The clumsy and shaky-handed need to strip wires too.
@Yakroot I know you've just been in a horrible accident so be still while stick this razor sharp knife between your chest and seatbelt. I'm a professional it'll be fine.
Is that really considered a tanto point? Looks a lot more like a drop point to me.
@NoTroop Definitely not a tanto
@Yakroot Tonto?
@NoTroop it's a "modified" tanto blade, which is just like a modified rapier foil. It's also a modified speaker dock.
tanto... hehehehe
I'll stick to my spyderco
@kebabremoval I still say Cold Steel kicks major butt, I'd like those here, but alas it will ne'er happen. @haydesigner ...and we're gonna just go right ahead and buy 'em too! So there....
DISSAPOINTED !!!!!
@mellowirishgent ?DisaPPointed?
It's a really good thing my husband doesn't have an account on here! We'd have one (or more) of these. He loves the last Kershaw knife I got him from you guys! Oh wait...loathsome-paramount-holiday...guess we have one anyway.
@nhbillups I was actually just reading about the street this was made on in Rome: loathsome-paramount-holiday
@nhbillups we can only pray he never finds the create account link.
industrious-awful-trapper
@tightwad rekt
blah blah blah MEH!
Kershaw Funxion EMehT Knife
Fixed that for ya...
what possible use could anyone have for a knife?
@elpepe You have to be joking
I really like the way these open.
That is all.
These are awesome, great EDC if you commute/spend lots of time in the car. Too bad I bought 3 last time to use when my primary wears out - I'd love to pick up some more. I think I have a problem...
@Splice2k1 I think... you like collecting.
@Splice2k1 can i have one?
@Splice2k1 dude.
@Splice2k1 That's why they sell out. Do you have like 5 accounts?
@jjohns71 Collecting commodities, perhaps. Maybe he's building a gun that shoots knives and he's stocking up on ammo.
@rgbfoundry yah, hard to buy a lot of other ammo when competing with civilian govt agenices.
@rgbfoundry Like This:
Meh, stop posting knives, you're not using that abundance of useless supplies well :/
Go home meh, you're drunk.
@legendornothing They're not posting them, they're selling them, besides mostly [for me] they use UPS or Fedex, not the USPS.

@jiltant I usually locktite my pocket clips now. Even my Benchmade had that issue.
@jiltant You have me interested, how did it almost cut your fingers? Is it because you were holding onto the clip with your index finger while using it when it came off, or did the metal actually fatigue and break and leave a sharp edge? Just curious what I have to watch for. Thanks!

@jiltant locktite comes in red and blue. You use blue for screws you want to undo later.
And if you can invent a better screw, you'll be rich :p
@lowlypeon Hah, well, I don't think it's the screw itself that's the problem, I think it's the choice of screw and the way the hole was threaded for it. :P
@jiltant I understand and commiserate accordingly- consider it done...
You guys were selling these for $14... umm... If I have nothing nice to say, I'll say nothing at all.
@xEBRONx The business acumen at Meh is improving.
@xEBRONx It's $2 more for the cord cutter and $2 more for the glass breaker than the last one...
@mehdaf it's a knife. A seat belt utter is totally unnecessary, So many people already have something like resQme in their car.
I agree, and yet I bought one anyway, he "uttered" unnecessarily...
Why would they bother to include a bottle opener when it already has a fully functional glass breaker? Do people actually use the bottle opener to open bottles as a substitute? What is the age limit for this knife? 7 years old? 8?
I open my bottles differently than you.
I also am a fan of drinking shards of glass from my glass.
@dvermilion NOT!
@dvermilion that was yesterday's deal
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
Work it
Make it
Do it

only makes me stronger
@Thumperchick I need you to hurry up now // cause I can't steam much longer.
@JonT
I've been waiting all night now
Guess I'll just be leftovers
@MehAmphetamine You welcome
Was the single size of hex wrench designed with some specific use in mind? Or was there just an extra bit of steel there and they needed more bullet points for the box?
@nogoodwithnames number two, and less metal makes it cheaper to make and ship.
@nogoodwithnames it fits standard hex bits. not terrific function, to be sure, but a little function is good.
@RobinBobcat Oxygen tanks!
I already have one of these - one point not made in the description is that the carabiner acts as a safety device. The knife will not open with the carabiner in the outward position. I personally like this feature, as you can clip it to the outsides of things without it randomly springing open.
What, another knife? Meh, you should know by now that I don't need another incredible-humdrum-hummus.
Aw, son of a bitch...
@PocketBrain Right there with you: invisible-charming-oregano
@PhysAssist Almost forgot: incredible-humdrum-hummus
Remember when Meh used to sell things other than knives? Yeah, me neither.
@grmeyer aww, it can't be all that bad.
@grmeyer Awesome!! what, you miss speaker docks and Dyson Vacuums?
@grmeyer Apparently Meh thinks most of us are Aichmomaniacs. At least speaker docks and Dyson vacuums are useful in the 21st century. The last time I needed a pocket knife was when I was 12 years old...
No O2 wrench? meh.
apathetic-destroyed-wine
In for 3, hang on to for gifts...
Thanks meh
@lutopia Awesome pic to that phrase
@PhysAssist thanks for looking that up, interesting. Really makes you think.
More knives again? I don't stab people or gut rabbits, it does not look like it is good for cutting veg. What would I do with this kind of knife? So, a meh for me. Lot's of times, the only reason to go on this is to read the comments, cause some of them are amusing.
IT'S FOR SAVING LIVES, MICK JESUS
@dvermilion Jesus doesn't need to shout.
@RedOak Depends if his fellow farmworkers are deaf from noise exposure- tractors are loud!
I love it! Rafting five days a week. Not only does the serated portion cut rope but if small wood is needed for kindling it will do that as well. As for sharp purposes the blade glides through a trouts belly without hesitation. I use the carabiner when needed. At this price I would buy more if I could.
You guys really need to Google Tanto blade!
@gibvel I'm pretty sure that the description comes direct from Kershaw.
sticky-problematic-tent? come on.
@dvermilion
@dvermilion use the knife to cut yourself out of the tent
Is this emt knife missing a slot to quickly slice through seat belts? I thought that was standard in these emergency knives. What good is instantly breaking glass just to have to take all that time to saw through the seat belt while your vict- er, patient bleeds out?
@spavlis That's right there in the features list? But they call it a "cord cutter"
@lowlypeon That works just as well om seat belts? Looks round and short to me but then I'm no EMT.
@spavlis not having handled one in person i can't say for sure, but it looks like any of the belt cutters i have.
I guess as long as I have a husband, a son and a future son-in-law and Meh keeps selling knives, I will keep buying three of them. I am now set for the next round of birthdays. mini-decorative-government - I like it and wouldn't mind having one.
@carwinew What she said!
Last Kershaw knife I got from Meh fell apart so I'll pass on this one, even though having the belt cutter right there would be nice.
@lowlypeon Really, go on with details.... oh, and pictures or it never happened... J.K.

@ACraigL I'd like to understand that same thing about speaker docks, roombas, and dysons.
@ACraigL you act like it's possible to ever have enough knives.
@ACraigL I think Meh hopes they have new customers coming to the site, customers who may not have already purchased this same knife and would appreciate it. The same is true for Roombas and Dysons. No one can explain the Speaker Docks...@cengland0
@ACraigL A knife?!?!? Shirley you jest?
@PhysAssist
@ACraigL birthdays happen year 'round. (And I forget I bought something and put it away if there is too much lead time! Anybody want my extra DVD of the original "Highlander"?)
@ACraigL You're welcome for the obvious set-up...
Needed a knife for opening MEH box shipments. Once I solve the paradox of getting this out of the box without a knife I think I'm all set. Oh -- stinky-latest-drug
The description says "cord cutter", but doesn't say if it gets over-the-air channels.
@alanh only if you use this to cut the power cord
Don't tell my wife. There's no good reason I should have purchased this. Sigh. Fuck you, meh. Fuck you and all of your knifey ways.
garrulous-smiling-willow
@joelmw Still hiding mine in various EDC and car bags- Unfortunately they soon may reach the Schwarzschild Limit Brace yerself!
Which is better? http://www.amazon.com/RITE-EDGE-Assisted-Seatbelt-Glass-Breaker/dp/B005VPYDHK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1431099990&sr=8-3&keywords=glass+breaker
@StrangerDanger I like the $8.99 price better. Here's a photo of your linked product.
@cengland0 Yeh, but "Tac-Force" = craptastic knives made of ?whatever steel they happened to have laying around, + from the Amazon blurb "New item with Assited Open Black Part Serrated Blade. Includes Glass Breaker and Seatbelt Cutter. 3.25 in. Blade."

buttoned-gold-mimosa - I can use it to debutton!
Knives don't kill people. The pointy pointy part of knives kill people.
@poppaearl
We in Vermont already have all the knives we can use (according to the map).
It hasn't sold out yet. Does this mean the end of knives??????? Please????????
@GiantTarget Nopers!!
I wish I could Meh this more than once.
