@curtise The title Bananas, Sardines and Sharks is a reference to The Shark and the Sardines, one of the first accounts written about the Guatemalan coup, by Jacobo Arbenz's predecessor Juan José Avéralo, and the first to accuse the American government of being involved.
@Pavlov I knew the Banana cartel was shady, but that was a great summary of it all. Bananas are also inbred - unlike Apples (which there are many varieties of) there's just one variety of Banana, and it's prone to a superbug.
@Collin1000 actually there are a bunch of different bananas, as evidenced at the farmer’s markets in Hawaii for one. But yes most of the ones in the US mainland stores are Cavendish and at risk.
I feel strongly that this could have gone on far longer than the almost-three minutes it was. Memoirs of AvocadoButt, but this song actually evolved! (instrumental break) More of this please, @matthew!
I gave this a lot of time, and since it's still not posted here... I will post it... it has to happen, I want to apologize ahead of time for the earwig I am about to unleash.
Watched the whole thing. I like bananas.
@dnixon42 Me too. The song is catchy.
@dnixon42 I'm waiting for someone to sit on banana
@Pavlov quite an interesting short film, though I don't get the references to sardines and sharks.

New favorite video.
Excellent use of video as a medium.
Best video yet after all Ask Irk videos
Is it weird that I kept waiting for the banana to strip?
I'm all about inner beauty.
So, your assignment was to make art from a mundane object? Success!
About halfway through, I started dancing. It was clearly time to dance. So... How long I was willing to sit and stare is kind of debatable, I guess.
Clearly they ran out of new video ideas.
So, what is it really?
Wow....a banana as an action figure...
I feel strongly that this could have gone on far longer than the almost-three minutes it was.

More of this please, @matthew!
Finally entertainment that fully delivers on what it was advertised to be.
This did not disappoint!
thats no ordinary chair!
@sp3ar yeah! herman miller fiberglass chairs aren't cheap!
unless it's a knockoff, in which case it's pretty ordinary.
Chair for scale.
My kids "no, wait, we're not done yet!"
An Eh-mmy for the first person to make a 10-hour "Just a banana" loop.
The earthworms are far more talented.
Very TMBG dial a song.
It was kinda hard to discern the lyrics over the music. :(
That might just be my new ringtone.
That banana has a lot of appeal
Update: Day 2 of watching the banana. It is still, in fact, just a banana.
I gave this a lot of time, and since it's still not posted here... I will post it... it has to happen, I want to apologize ahead of time for the earwig I am about to unleash.
@thismyusername - Ha! You're forgiven. When I saw that, I totally thought it was going to be the other Badgers.
full "movie"
Come on guys. Not even backwards on day 2? Can we also expect to sometimes see the same deal come up two days in a row?
I don't know what it is about this video, but the song is making my parakeet flip his shit and go absolutely...well...bananas!
I wasn't here to post yesterday, but I officially 'has three sads'.
Encountered this today in a shared workspace.
Just sittin’ there. Nobody else around. Just a banana sittin’ there being a banana.
Now this song has been stuck in my head all day.
And sometimes a banana is only a banana, Anna.
