@RedOak Not a TDI, sorry! I needed a smaller car, and this was being sold by the driving school. The guy had a folder with every receipt for all the work ever done, so I could see this car's complete history. She had ridiculously low miles, as well. I love her.

They're just so damn expensive now. I've told the story before, but my ex and I drove Bessie the bus from Seattle to southern Mexico for almost a year. Best vehicle ever.

I just paid a guy $4 to bring me a hot dog and waffle fries tonight, and my enjoyment of them has since ceased. Meanwhile, owning this speaker dock immediately can bring lovely melodies to your ear holes over and over again, and you won't have to poop those melodies out tomorrow morning, either. Come to think of it, I guess I should have bought two speaker docks instead.

@RedOak Are they that much better sounding than the micros? And mostly, louder? The micros are a bit too quiet with some of my devices.

@sammydog01 We have both the Micro and Mini. We use the Micro as a dresser charge stand + close-by streaming source. It is fine for that.

The Mini is more capable of filling a (not large) room with sound. Still not full-size speaker sound. Slightly richer bass than Micro. I don't know that I'd say it can go "louder", but that fuller sound might seem louder. Just as clean sound since it seems to have the same drivers. I'd guess, unlike the Micro, it might have a bass reflex port (a hole that channels lower frequencies out of the box.).

If you appreciate speaker sound quality (and can discern the difference between various same-priced speakers) then the price step for the Mini is a no-brainer. If you like the Micro, you'll love the Mini.

Bonus: (other than the Lithium Ion battery) even if you don't use it with an iPad, that longer landing pad holds smaller non-Lightning devices on their side very nicely.

@RedOak I bought two for $44 last time and split it with someone... I would still buy another at this price if I needed it. They sound quite good.

@thismyusername I'm not so happy with $25 purchase price. I'd much prefer the $30 micro w/mini that they did a long time ago...or maybe a 2 for $35-40. I think that these are great docks. But 2 issues. They don't come in white (my phone is the silver one) and they tend to be more expensive. By more. Usually $5-10 more than I want to pay for yet another speaker dock!

@djslack Yep. We use an old 2nd gen iPod Touch with a Mini as a pretty nice portable streaming music machine. And with a laptop to play movies.

@RedOak I have an old touch too- i didn't know they still worked for anything but iTunes. I will have to try streaming.

@sammydog01 Can't speak for the gen 1 Touch, but ours plays Pandora flawlessly. Of course the battery is a bit long (short?) in the tooth. Sometimes have to hook up a USB battery - both sit nicely in the iPad-sized trough of the mini.

@RedOak Oh my gosh- it works! I have it in my Klipsch dock I got at Goodwill and it sounds amazing! I hope my new mini sounds as good.

@sammydog01 sweet! Klipsch speakers typically have nice clean sound. Not so sure this Mini will beat it. However, I'll bet the original transaction price (when it was new) of that Klipsch was a lot more than $25.
