That’s about $11.67 per month, and a savings of about 22% off the regular price of $15/mo. Offer valid until March 1st.
But wait! There’s more! Login to your AMEX account and check your AMEX offers for the HBO $7 account credit when you spend $14.99 or more at HBOMax. This offer expires 2/26. If you load that offer to your AMEX card and pay for your HBO Max 6 month subscription with that card, your price is effectively reduced to $10.50/mo!
honestly 7 days is enough time to see all you want
Wow. I’m having a difficult time wrapping my head around this. HBO has produced so many highly rated, critically acclaimed, award winning originals across a huge gamut of genres. And with the addition of the Warner television and film library, Turner Classics, Adult Swim, DC, etc. And now the addition of Warner Studios “same day premieres”… I’m having a hard time imagining there’s not something there for everyone. Not trying to sell you on it, just surprised. I get that not everyone would find $12/mo. value in it… but “garbage” is what surprises me. Maybe I desperately need to reevaluate my television viewing tastes!
@craigthom I did the same thing. I’ll be switching to the 6 mo. discounted plan when my current month is up on Feb. 23rd, squeezing that last $7 out of AMEX.
@CaptAmehrican@ruouttaurmind
I did say “my guy thinks it’s garbage”, NOT ME! He sometimes goes over the top (driving me crazy, Lol ) to make HIS point. I would have definitely gotten the 7 day free trial! I also most probably would have been one of “those people” that they count on. You know, the one’s who DON’T cancel their trial!
Chase has 5% cash back this quarter on AT&T internet charges. You can make pre-payments of up to $300, and repeat for up to a $600 credit balance on your account. You can’t do two $300 payments back to back (AT&T pre-checks this and rejects it for duplicate/fraud), but you can do a $300 and $290. Or you can add another $300 the next day.
At least you’ll get the 5% discount for advance payment on a few months of internet. If you time it right, you can get the 5% on the JAN/FEB/MAR bills, plus add on 5% for the next $600 worth ($30 savings) of future bills.
It’s not like I’m switching internet service. So I take the savings when I can, since there’s never a discount otherwise. My internet is $60/mo, so that’s almost a year before I’ll get a bill.
@mike808
To go beyond the whole thing of HBO and a even bigger bargain…
I cut the cable out all together 5/6 years ago when I moved, a huge decision for me since i’m one of those who have (or had) the tv on 24/7! Now, these days, I SURE DO LOVE some quiet time throughout the day! While i’ve been helping care for my mother in law (at her house) these past 2 years i’ve been enjoying her cable ONLY because i’m not paying the bill! Her husband, (recently deceased) insisted on having the “sports package” along with many other unwatched channels to the tune of almost $350 a month. Crazy rediculous in my opinion!
@Lynnerizer I have an HD Homerun Quattro (4 channel tuner) with the DVR service (really the guide data is what you’re paying for), MCEBuddy for cutting ads and converting to HEVC in MKV containers ($50), and Plex lifetime ($99, $75 on sale). We also have a Tivo Roamio OTA with lifetime guide service ($300).
Plex Lifetime comes with a DVR and guide service, so that’s an alternative to the HD Homerun DVR subscription. I don’t use it, though. I got lifetime to support the developers; that’s just me.
The Tivo has a Plex app for viewing the shows I’ve recorded. We use the Tivo for live recording and stuff we’ll watch during the week. The HDHomerun (or Plex as your case may be) records the secondary shows we plan to binge watch later or specials you want to keep (like the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Years Eve concerts). Also useful for recording all new series in case you decide later you like one of them, and cancelling recording the stinkers.
Six months of HBOMax for $70.

@ruouttaurmind $70?! That’s only $68 too much!
@yakkoTDI Kinda how I feel about $14/mo for Netflix.
@ruouttaurmind @yakkoTDI about to be $18 soon.
@raptorgorawr Netflix or HBOMax?
@ruouttaurmind @yakkoTDI
My guy thinks HBO is such garbage that he won’t even take their 7 day FREEBIE!!

@ruouttaurmind or you can do what I did and use the Amex discount to get three months for $7.99 a month.
