@therealjrn Also, you should bring a battery, tires, a new engine, a new drive train, those thingys that do that whatchmacallit thing, and some other odds and ends that I’ll think of later and will add to the list.
Nice, now “I” want some, and I don’t even do cereal, but . . I might have to make an exception, if I remember next time I need groceries, which is unlikely, so I guess all is really good.
@Barney@Cerridwyn@chellemonkey@sammydog01 So! I got my cereal today. Decided to try it for my dinner. The smell was super familiar when I opened the bag. Artificial banana. The nilla wafers are about the same consistency of the cookies in Cookie Crisp.
The taste was, ok. Then it finally dawned on me after a few bites.
It tastes like circus peanuts.
I’m not a fan of circus peanuts. Apparently it’s not so much the flavor, it’s more the texture. The cereal texture was fine and I managed to eat the whole bowl. I won’t be buying it again though.
Best Buy has an additional 40% off open box major appliances with code “OPENBOXSAVE40” at checkout. Curbside pickup so use the local pickup checkbox on their site to shop for what’s available in your location.
Remember this deal from April? Was that still too rich for you to cast down on a burner… er, spare phone? Well, here at (Unofficial) Deals we aim to please! How’s about a slightly different deal at a lower price…
To sweeten the deal a bit, eBay is offering 5% eBay Bucks bonus. Activate the offer by clicking on the banner in the slider on the main eBay.com page.
Includes 1,500 minutes, 1,500 texts, 1500MB data. That’s total, for the year, not each month. But fiddy bucks though. This is ideal for someone like my mom who has used maybe 8 minutes of talk, zero text and zero data in the last three months. She’s currently paying $25/mo for Cricket, so this deal would pay for itself in 2 months.
Or I guess if you need a burner for some <air quote> totally legal </air quote> purpose…
@sammydog01 It’s got 802.11 a/b/g/n, 2.4GHz + 5GHz. It also has a tasty 5.7-inch display, albeit at a paltry 1440 × 720 resolution. But it’s a phone display. Much higher res than that is pretty much a waste.
@sammydog01 Yes, you can connect to wifi in your house. I have no idea if Tracfone supports wifi calling, but you can use Google Voice or any of the popular chat apps you kids are always talking about on your MySpace walls.
@therealjrn But maybe I can help you. I have been told by an esteemed forum beggar member that I am rich. Name an exorbitant amount and I will write a check. (I’d love to see how high it would bounce.)
@therealjrn $1,000.00? Pffft. I’m supposed to be richer than that. How about I buy a solid gold collar for your cat. Your kids? I’m sure that I could sell a house or two or maybe three or four cars to cover my hot check.
@RiotDemon I’m glad the coupon worked for you. I’ve been in a grocery store only twice since all of this started. My local grocery store has free pickup and that’s what I’m using for just about everything now.
@RiotDemon@tinamarie1974@f00l To look at me now, you’d never think that I ever had hair down to about the middle of my back. But I’ve decided I like short hair; it stays out of my eyes and off of my neck, and it washes and drys quickly. Easy peasy.
First time posting a deal, so I don’t know if I’m doing this correctly.
Among other offers, current Verizon account holders can get 500 Robux for Roblox, as well as a free coupon code for Pokemon GO (which will give a Premium Battle Pass, 2x Incense and 65x Poke Balls) by going to the below link, logging in (and possibly navigating back to the page, since Verizon’s site is weird), and choosing their account type.
I’m a little late to the show with this one. I see it’s already hit FP on SD, so availability might be sparse. Use the Brickseek linkys I’ve included to check local store stock and discount prices. Pricing will vary by location.
This is a $150 saw with all the $150 features for half price. I don’t own this one (yet) but I’ve been coveting it for a while now. If I can get motivated to brave the 104* heat this afternoon, then I guess I’ll own it soon.
@RiotDemon That’s the set I posted at the beginning of April. It’s a decent assortment of bits if you’re just getting started with a router. Lots of profiles to experiment with. Some reviews mentioned issues with the bearings, but so far I haven’t had any issues.
Thanks for the heads up! The store by my house sold both theirs yesterday or this morning, but I had to go see my mom today so I went to the store by my parents.
A super helpful employee came by and asked if I found everything, and I told her I was checking the model number as the shelf was showing full price. She scanned it with her device and said “wow, that’s a good deal, I may have to get one for me!” They had one on the shelf and one more overhead in overstock.
@djslack@ruouttaurmind soooo… My Lowe’s only had the router display left, no box. I’m missing the collets, case, and probably something else. Could one of you fine gentlemen take a picture of the manual that shows the page of what’s supposed to be in the box?
I only paid $20. Time will tell whether this was a bust if the parts I need for it to work cost more, lol
@RiotDemon the plastic piece and all the silver doodads are for template following. The black thing is the collet which will hold your bit to the router. They are interchangeable because they can accommodate different size bits. So the bits and matching collet and you’re in business. There are probably a lot of aftermarket ways to do template following if you’re wanting to do that kind of work with the router, or you can get the factory parts with all the info @ruouttaurmind provided above, in a format more useful than the manual photos.
I don’t want to get into a whole lot of political bullshit here, but Old Navy is selling masks, 5 for $12.50. Shipping is free on $25 so that gets you 10 masks. They’re made from random fabric in a warehouse somewhere. Kids and adult sizes. They won’t ship for a while. I ordered a set for us and a set for my mother.
@RiotDemon Cancelled. It took a while since their auto-response says they won’t cancel orders but I figured out how to cancel without using the word cancel. Plus I have 2 yards of flame fabric coming on Tuesday. 2 yards makes a ton of masks. But the price was right.
@RiotDemon@sammydog01 I cancelled my Disney masks, too – I replied to the confirmation email they sent me. It did take a while, but a very nice Customer Service rep got back to me and cancelled the order.
I’m one of the pasta winners of the PastaDrop photoshop contest. Nope, I can’t photoshop to save my life, but I got lucky that @dave was looking the other way for a second and I snuck my entry into the winners’ pile.
This makes me so very happy because I’m donating my pastas to the nursing home that took care of Mom. They’re going to be happy to get it, too!
@ruouttaurmind You know that Lenovo thing you made me buy that I bitched about? I started watching old TV shows on youtube on it. I’m enjoying Ghost Story right now. So I do like it after all.
@ruouttaurmind@sammydog01 GHOST STORY! I love that show, I really look forward to the Decades Channel’s Ghost Story marathon every October (it really is the most wonderful time of the year). Have you gotten to the one where Tab Hunter has a doppelganger that tries to kill Pat Harrington in a steam room? Or the one where a bunch of hippie artisans disappear into glass bottles for some reason and Tyne Daly wears a cape in one scene?
@ruouttaurmind@sammydog01 I never saw it until a few years ago, I’d read about it, but apparently was too young/missed it in syndication. They are weirdly memorable, even the bad ones, I’m not surprised they stuck with you! Which one did you remember?
One time, at Target, they had those small 7.5 ounce soda cans of Sprite on sale. The regular price for a 6-pack was $2.69 and they went on sale for 2 for $6 meaning $3 each. I took this photo on February 22, 2019 so the sale was over a year ago but still funny today.
The Epic Games launcher automatically will download the game and install and launch the Rockstar Launcher. You will need to register with Rockstar and and permanently connect your Epic Games account with your Rockstar Games account (they call it the Rockstar Social Club). Then after you play through the welcome/training mission, you are eligible for the extra GOTY extras. Also, there are Twitch Prime bonuses for GTAV as well (through the Rockstar Social Club account linked to your Twitch account).
Anyway, GTAV is FREE. Also, Epic hives you a $10 off $15 game purchase coupon.
Lots of people are using the $10 coupon to buy the Witcher III GOTY edition for $5 ($15-$10).
Which gets you another $10 off $15 coupon. Lather, rinse, repeat, buying games one at a time to get multiple coupons.
@cengland0 I got excited and forgot to set my cloud account as default and had delete or cancel the download of 140 plus books from my Paperwhite. Then I had to delete all those emails. Still worth it.
This is a very deep discount on a great set of electronic hearing protection earmuffs.
The Walker’s XCEL 100 Electronic Ear Muff with NRR26DB rating, protects your hearing while providing superior sound enhancement, easy program navigation through voice guides, and volume control. This unit features head-mounted digital controls for a slim profile depth to protection ratio. The High-Gain omnidirectional microphones means you won’t sacrifice sound quality for protection.
@RiotDemon@ruouttaurmind well, I went back and added a set of Patriots as well just to see if I like them better or might use them in certain situations where I didn’t want to be the orange safety guy. One set will make a nice gift for my dad to protect what hearing he’s got left.
That way, when I drive around and I wind up parked next to someone who is driving a brand/spanking/new/used/really-old RV, and that person is playing their subwoofer system super loud, and grinding all their gears,
@f00l hopefully they will honor the sales they made at that price to you folks and others. For $13 I would have bought. I am doing somewhere between 200 and 300 loads of laundry for the no kill shelter and 280+ dogs barking is driving me nuts. My foam ear plugs that block 33 decibels isn’t enough. I now have time to do that as that non-profit I was “volunteering” for in hopes of a job “afterwards” has shut down. They asked everyone to work for free and they all walked.
The frustrating thing to me is the email they sent. Basically it says it was cancelled because they were out of stock, my order wasn’t picked up in 7 days, or my card was declined. I know that’s a bunch of BS because it’s still available online. I would of rather had a genuine email that said there was a pricing error.
@djslack just for shits and giggles, I left my phone on for over an hour to ask someone about it. I basically got that the website is wrong and it is out of stock. They say it updates in the middle of the night and the website count is wrong.
So I asked if it shows on the website tomorrow as available, and I wanted to order it, could I get it for the same price? And he said no, it won’t be available.
I told him that it looked like someone made a mistake since now the price is higher.
@RiotDemon imagine if meh’s website only updated inventory in the middle of the night. Customer service would be a nightmare.
It’s funny, because when I’ve bought something in stock in a store on Lowe’s I believe I’ve seen the inventory click down, like 3 available becomes 2. Maybe not instantly, but not randomly in the middle of the night.
Sorry you’re getting shafted like that. No guarantees that we won’t wind up the same way. Maybe the emails go out in the middle of the night too.
@Barney@djslack@ruouttaurmind@riotdemon. Received an email that my credit card was declined and I needed to call to provide a new cc #. Very suspect. Currently on hold with an estimated 45 min wait time.
@Barney@djslack@RiotDemon@ruouttaurmind so on hold for roughly 50 minutes before someone from CS came on the line. I gave them a different card just to be safe and they said it processed and I am “good to go” Fingers crossed
The card used was one of those gift cards you get as a gift so maybe there was an issue with it???
@Barney here is what is funny. Going to head to the store to pick up a prescription. Think I will grab the ingredients for her homemade sauce and drop it off…If you guys don’t hear from me again, assume it was a pasta related murder.
Item(s) In Your Order Have Been Cancelled
You can view the updated quantity and subtotal for your item(s) below. If you didn’t request a cancellation, you’re receiving this email because item(s) in your order were out of stock, not picked up within 7 days or your payment was declined. Don’t worry, you won’t be charged for any canceled items.
Items out of stock? Then why are they still taking orders for them?
Not picked up within seven days? Fulfill the order and I bet I will pick it up within seven minutes!
Payment declined? Nope. They’ve refunded and re-charged my card a total of four times now. It’s still showing as pending, but it was clearly processed successfully.
I’m wondering if they kept refunding/charging hoping for it to eventually decline? Maybe trigger a fraud alert and lock up the card. Sounds like more trouble than just being honest and sending out an email saying “hey, dude, we effed up and made a pricing error and we’re really really sorry but we won’t be selling any at this price”. THAT is what they should have done a week ago!
Walmart made a similar mistake on Google Home Hub devices last year. Pricing error resulted in like a 90% discount. Walmart cancelled my order, but explained it was a pricing error and they were very, very sorry. Oh, and here’s a $10 e-gift card for your trouble.
Who knew Walmart would have better customer service than… well, anyone actually. It’s surely not that great in-store.
@Barney@djslack@RiotDemon@ruouttaurmind hum…mine is still processing, but I did find out they still have a hold on both credit card numbers I provided. So pending charges twice with a processing order…
@ruouttaurmind I think they’re toying with me… They just reauthorized my card right before midnight. When I tried to check order status earlier this evening, the orders could not be found. If my order shows up I guess I should go buy some Powerball tickets.
@ruouttaurmind@tinamarie1974 I don’t know about my credit card info, but when I went to check on my order status, it no longer shows processing – it’s blank. It has the order and the total, but that’s all.
@Barney Ya, I do not believe they will fulfill any of these orders.
But if anyone in this thread gets theirs, I’m gonna be pretty miffed at Lowe’s for randomly fulfilling some, cancelling others.
Of course I’ll still shop there because they got the deelz. And they’re on my way home from the office, so super convenient. And they’re so much less crowded than the orange store. I think I hate going to the orange store more than I hate going to Walmart. I do so dislike going to Walmart.
@djslack@RiotDemon@ruouttaurmind@tinamarie1974 I got my official cancellation notice about an hour ago. They sure screwed around with us enough before they finally cancelled it. I would have had so much more respect for them if right from the beginning they just admitted that there was a mistake. To keep us hanging for over a month is no way to run a company.
@kuoh Whaaaa??? I’m very glad to hear at least someone got one. Of course this makes me even more unhappy with Lowe’s since I placed my order hours before anyone up in here, but my order was cancelled.
Maybe they really did do an rando lottery to see who would get their order.
@djslack Yeah I got another authorization alerts from my bank this morning and just figured it was the same as before and I would eventually get the middle finger email. Later in the afternoon I heard a thump at the front door and saw the UPS truck outside. I guess if they’re still authorizing on your card, you might actually get it sooner or later.
@kuoh@ruouttaurmind today a pair of Razor Patriots showed up on my doorstep. Same, no email. The order status still shows as “order received” and as far as I can tell my card was only authorized and not yet charged. Something weird is going on.
These things are awesome. My head feels almost too big for them, but they cut a lot of noise. My dogs went nuts barking right after I put them on (probably because I started clapping as loud as I could) and it was almost a pleasant experience lol. I would have liked to have heard what -26dB sounded like by comparison.
