Jesus fuck, can’t you do customer focus groups before testing it out on us? This Guerrila Austerity Horseshit is getting old. Maybe rename it the “GAH”
I want an actual Mehrathon with actual IRKs that aren’t $50-$100 (or $38 today). Same thing with Woot, btw. It used to be fun. You occasionally got my cash. Now it’s not and you don’t.
@newby9 yeah, I’ve received an almost completely empty box with almost nothing in it before… and it wasn’t taped closed.
Made me wonder what was in it to start with, made me sad thinking that could have been the golden-ticket IRK. I don’t know if the contents fell out, were stolen, or… if it really was just a bag and one cheap-badly broken item to begin with.
I just gotta say that the Meh-rathon song is one of my favorite freaking ditties of all time. Rousing, melodic, ear-wormy, funny, clever, well performed, and downright stupid! What more could one ask for in elite contemporary music. I give it a Golden Irk!
With the pricing of most of the items I’ve seen so far, have to buy multiple items and very difficult to hit $30 exactly so another way for them to get rid of multiple shit items in their inventory and take more of our money.
@Felton10 I was fortunate because I had a $29 item I wanted to buy, then there was a $10 I kinda wanted and almost got once before, and I had an $8 coupon…
… and that was all really early, so it was a no-brainer for me.
I do think the number of items priced just below $30 is no coincidence though.
@OnionSoup With the way they are offering IRKs now, I only would get one if the things they sell to get an IRK for free or at a minimal price are things I really want or need. Having gotten over 30 IRKs, the excitement of getting one has long faded although I still enjoy opening a box that I have no idea what is in it.
@Felton10@OnionSoup
With my stress at a high lately my memory is terrible and I’ve been dealing with everything by shopping WAY TOO MUCH! The results are that I have absolutely no idea what is going to be in any box that comes through the door, similar to an IRK! The money I’ve wasted adds to the regret as well. Who needs Meh… Lol
@Lynnerizer I’ve actually been buying less than usual this past month, despite being pretty much trapped in the house by the temps and the after-effects of fairly major surgery.
@Lynnerizer@OnionSoup The boxes come hot and heavy to our house-between Costco and Amazon (109 YTD shooting shooting for our 2020 record of 154), we forget what we have ordered also.
@cfg83 This one, I think for the first time, says spend $30 (it doesn’t make it clear if $30.01 is OK too, because getting $30.00 is probably impossible.) But it’s OR MORE, or else you get $0.00, zilcho, nada, big goose eggs. nil-nil draw. (man, how I hate those!)
Previous ones with higher entry fees like $50 or $100 said spend as much as you want, and you’ll get credited for the full amount up to $49.99 or $99.99 so even if you only bought a $10 item, you’d get something back. This one implies you would get nothing (i.e., nil as we’ve already discussed).
@cfg83
Ahem, If you have spent any amount greater than $30 in the Mehrathon, then by definition you have also spent $30. It’s like the old trick question, “How many months have 28 days in them?” Worded that way, the most correct answer is “all of them”.
How many transactions were involved is irrelevant. If you spend $30 or more (NOT including shipping, sales tax, or a Mehmbership) for items offered in the 'thon via the “BUY IT” buttons in today’s 'thon listings, and then you also buy the IRK listed on Side Deal (which may end earlier, but will definitely go away at 11:59:59PM EDT tonight), you will qualify for a $30 refund on precisely one IRK. If you buy more than one IRK, you get no refund on the quantity in excess of one, no matter how much crap you buy in the 'thon.
Thanks for the feedbag … I mean feedback. There is another tweest to this. This deal motivates - skates like me to wait until the last possible deal in order to pick the lowest cash outlay (aka keep my total spend to as close to $30 meh crap + $8 IRK) as possible. I do risk sell-outs, but that’s ok. I won’t wait that long, but I am tempted to.
let’s go!! No sleep!!
@GzBiH
Ha! Not these days!
@Lynnerizer just bring some snacks, it’ll be fun, I’ll bring drinks.
Sleep is highly overrated
@heartny that’s perfect, you’re wired and ready to party, I got drinks.
Oh my fuck, it’s an $8 IRK with $30 purchase.
Jesus fuck, can’t you do customer focus groups before testing it out on us? This Guerrila Austerity Horseshit is getting old. Maybe rename it the “GAH”
@thechinglish don’t push it Next IRK may be $200
I wanted to sleep ;-;
@Xieneus You can!! Just buy the $38 IRK and spend $30 on the Meh-rathon so you’ll end up with an $8 IRK and then GO TO BED!! See?? That was so EZ!!
@Xieneus I slept with one eye open.
@IndifferentDude @Xieneus did that, purchased IRK, purchased lamps, slept, back to fun. Can’t miss all the fun of shopping.

@xaviermoroney This format caused me to finally cancel my vmp membership. I miss the good ol days.
My IRK was Opened by someone during the Shipping. & Poorly Taped before ship
@newby9 are you jealous they got instant regret before you did?
@newby9 yeah, I’ve received an almost completely empty box with almost nothing in it before… and it wasn’t taped closed.

How fitting–the first item when I went to the Meh-rathon is Stroopwafels.
I just gotta say that the Meh-rathon song is one of my favorite freaking ditties of all time. Rousing, melodic, ear-wormy, funny, clever, well performed, and downright stupid! What more could one ask for in elite contemporary music. I give it a Golden Irk!
@JoseBandito definitely slaps
@JoseBandito I like the Something went terribly wrong song.
unfortunately we haven’t seen it much these days on meh.com@JoseBandito is it better than the “something went terribly wrong” song?!
With the pricing of most of the items I’ve seen so far, have to buy multiple items and very difficult to hit $30 exactly so another way for them to get rid of multiple shit items in their inventory and take more of our money.
The fun of IRKs has been ripped from us.
@Felton10 agreed

Ok, so just making sure. I see this text in the IRK :
Then I see this text :
This begs questions :
1 - If I buy one thing for $25 and another for $5, do I get $30 off the IRK?
2 - If I buy one thing for $24 and another for $6.00, do I get the $30 off the IRK?
3 - If I buy one thing for $23 and another for $7.01, do I get the $30 off the IRK?
I am not unwilling to buy $30 of meh-rathon crap, but I don’t want to be bamboozled by the rulez.
Request: Please make an IRK-ulator. That is to say, a crappy HTML form that helps one to calculate their prospects of an IRK discount.
Meh-rathons are becoming soooooooooooo IRKsome!

@pmarin @werehatrack Ok meh, you won this round. IRK = noted assorted soldier :
