It's a bit of a special day for me
8Is it my anniversary? Yes, kinda. It is the anniversary of me discovering the furry fandom!
Yay.
Why do I bother telling you this? I just want to. (Plus, I made about 5 reminders that won’t shut up.) At least my friends are very supportive of me. In retrospect, they are as weird and strange as me, so yeah : )
My family, on the other hand, loathe me for being one. It is a long story that I will eventually get to someday.I haven’t finalized my fursona, (EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN A WHOLE YEAR) but I do know it will be a Folf. (That is a mix of both fox AND wolf, for those who have no idea what I am talking about.)
That is all I have to say.

@pooltoywolf
I’m familiar with that comic! And yes, Weregarurumon is a hottie. My personal awakening was Balto.
@PooltoyWolf
I looked up the Balto movie and it looks pretty good. Might watch it later today. It can’t have too many historical inaccuracies… unlike Hercules.
That used to be my favorite movie. Then years and years of mythology study seeped in and ruined it for me. I might do a post talking about them.
@Wollyhop Hercules is still a favorite of mine because I am able to divorce historical accuracy from cartoon whimsy and fun! Balto (other than the talking animals and Boris for comic relief) is fairly accurate, as far as animated family films go. It’s one of the best, in my honest opinion.
Yay! You do you, @pooltoywolf!
@ItalianScallion Thanks hahaha
Out of curiosity (and OK not to answer this if too personal, I understand).
What is it that makes it attractive to you- is it the “wildness” of animal incorporated, or the dilution of the human? Or is it just something innate and harder to explain?
I’m just curious if it the “wildness” that drives the attraction or is it the “masking of the flaws of humanity”, although I suppose in reality its probably different for everyone.
Either way- you be you, congrats on owning it!
@OnionSoup I see it as a way to escape the reality of the everyday – to spend one’s time as a different creature and forego the expectations of being a human.
@narfcake that would make a lot of sense
@OnionSoup Your assessment that it’s different for everyone is 100% accurate, and the individual reasons are more varied than you could imagine, heh.
Wow you’re young. There have been several other “cool” lycanthropes in media.

if i’m a “diluted human”, can i blame it on the beer?
@phendrick dilution probably not the best phrasing and didn’t mean it like that… I meant is it wanting to remove some of the human element or introduce a wild element.
you can blame beer for a lot of things… But alcohol only amplifies the real you, it doesn’t change who someone is.
@OnionSoup @phendrick You can only blame it on diluted beer, e.g., Bud Light. Of course you could blame it on the Goat.
@OnionSoup That’s why i’ve drastically slowed down on beer intake. it was amplifying me too much, mostly around the waist.
