Today the mid Atlantic is having high winds. One easy way to look around you and see wind speed is the Beaufort scale . You can observe wind on land or water to see speed. Originally developed by a British admiral.

I hate to be “that guy” but I don’t see “high winds” on the chart.
@Cythwulf It is a strong gale gusting to a storm here.
@Cythwulf Strong breeze where I am. The weather thing says whole gale gusts, but I don’t see any downed trees.
@Cythwulf - I’m seeing high winds out the window.

Was Beaufort a captain?
I’m at a /giphy fresh gale
As an aside… joke (stolen from a post on another forum)
I knew a girl her name was Cindy…
She blew so much they called her Windy…
@somf69 Do you have her number? Just asking for a friend.
@mfladd I knew you would have me in mind
@somf69 I used to date a girl named Gale. Or was it Gail? Nevermind.
