We had frost last night when the New Hampshire temperature fell into the 20s. It ended the pumpkin growing season, but the green ones can still ripen over the next few weeks.
You know when it first gets cold there’s a morning where your car’s tire pressure light comes on because all your tires are
suddenly low enough to trigger it? That happened today. Except it wasn’t really cold, but it was a bit cooler than it has been.
Tomorrow the projected high is 66, with rain all day.
Mid-60’s here but more importantly, blue sky and no smoke. Nice respite after a couple weeks of staying inside to avoid “the worst air quality in the world” from all the fires.
@macromeh Yeah I am in NorthWest and someone I work with from California (where it was bad but not quite as bad) told me the Portland reading was over 500 and apparently 500 is as high as the scale goes.
@lisaviolet I usually see them as the sun JUST starts setting, I guess the angle of the sun is just right to reflect the light. They look like bright white glowing orbs.
Way too cold. Only perk is cuddly cats. I don’t know why I still live in the snow belt.
Still forecast to be in the 100s for the next 10 days at least. 103 today, forecast in mid-100s by the weekend.
@ruouttaurmind When does it finally cool down?
@tinamarie1974 Usually about the first week of September or so. For example, the high temperature on this date in:
2019 - 95
2018 - 99
2017 - 97
2016 - 96
2015 - 89
2014 - 95
2020 - 103
This has been a particularly brutal summer and it doesn’t seem to want to let go.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ruouttaurmind yikes! Seems about right for 2020.
It is a bit cooler than anticipated here. I think tomorrows high is suppose to be 75. Oh how I love fall weather! 🥰
Ill try to send a cool breeze your way!
@ruouttaurmind @tinamarie1974
103F is a cold wave there
@f00l
Jan. 5, 1950: The lowest temperature recorded in Phoenix was 17 degrees
@f00l @ruouttaurmind 17 sounds delightful!!
I wonder how long the city was closed? I was working just outside Atlanta years ago and they got a DUSTING of snow. Damn city was closed for DAYS!!!
We only hit 85 today and shouldn’t go into the 90s this week.
Super windy all day. It’s been nice.

@djslack Uncanny! Same thing happened to me. You must be a prophet! Take my money!
@djslack
You’re in Louisiana? Enjoy the extra rain from the v slow big storm drifting your way.
: )
@f00l yes, today was a rainy day, and it’s going to be a rainy week.
It’s 50 something outside so I have the window open and that’s keeping it in the 60s inside.
If I miscalculate I might have to close them

We’re finally leaving the 90s here (San Diego). And I had two blankets last night when star watching. We saw four satellites!
And I need new glasses!
@lisaviolet I saw a Google Loon last night. They look so weird in the sky
@tinamarie1974 I’ll have to look that up, it sounds kind of neat.
