@marklog i'm on the no side of it. if budget is the goal you can buy new, faster windows based pcs for the same price. If you just have to have a mac you might find more for the money on craigslist. Also I'm personally bias against it because the cd drive went out on mine and its part of the sub frame. Cost to replace at the time was $350 just for the cd drive / frame.
I'm also on the "no" side of it. They're basically obsolete and not serviceable by Apple. Plus you can't really update it to the newer OS's. Even Lion would run slow. :/
