Unless you have seen all the other movies I recommend against it, it’s like going to a high school reunion only to find out after you get there that it’s not your high school!
@PooltoyWolf@therealjrn New footage? What… they looked around the floor in the editing room and decided to glue on a little more film?
Yes, we saw it weeks ago only to discover we missed one (the 3rd one I guess).
Been out for a while now but I’ve yet to see it. Have plans on going by myself, getting a big popcorn and enjoying. (but it’s never been the same since Thor cut his hair!)
@blaineg@daveinwarsh Yeah… I miss those intermissions. Although, I go to the movies about once every 2-3 yrs so, no big deal for me. I usually watch at home so I just make my own intermission “pause” .
@daveinwarsh@lseeber I was actually OK with the length, it was put to good use, and didn’t feel like padding.
But this instant re-release seems like nothing but a blatant cash grab. “Whatever it takes” is a little less noble when the goal is box office high score.
@blaineg@daveinwarsh I didn’t even know there was a re-release. I just haven’t seen Endgame yet, lol. (I’m guessing, unless they go to more prequels, this should be it and if so, yep…they’ll suck all they can out of it I suppose).
FYI: The re-release isn’t until June 28. There are a couple of theaters in my area that are still running it and I wouldn’t want anybody shelling out the bucks this weekend thinking they were getting something new and being disappointed.
From what I have read, the re-release isn’t actually an extended cut of the movie. Producer Kevin Feige was quoted as saying “If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises.”
@DrWorm I think I’ll just have someone tell me what I missed. My movie budget was spent on going to see a 4k remastered showing of The Shining tomorrow.
Watching it on the big screen was interesting. While the movie has good parts, it has a lot of faults. The acting made me chuckle. There was some people screaming in the theatre. I don’t know if this was their first time watching it or they were just hamming it up.
I don’t know why they charged $20 for it. They have a bunch of other old movies coming up and they are all $10 each. On July 16th I’m going to see The Matrix! I’m so exited! I’ve already seen it five times in theatres. Hooray for number six.
@DrWorm@lseeber@RiotDemon Yeah, twenty bucks seems kind of high for something that’s on Hulu. Were there any added parts? Could you see a difference? Did they finally put the bunny topiary in there? I was disappointed there wasn’t a bunny topiary.
@DrWorm@lseeber@RiotDemon@therealjrn I know, right? They hire this amazing actor to play a really cool part from the book and then just kill him.
/giphy the bastards
@DrWorm@lseeber@sammydog01 it was 4k remastered. It looked grainy anyway compared to something filmed recently. No added parts. Sounded good though. I’m guessing the 4k remastering included the sound.
Yeah, unless someone was already planning on seeing it again, it doesn’t sound like the additions are worth the bang for the buck.
If I were attending another movie, and the timing worked out just right, I might be tempted to take advantage of the situation to slyly slip into the last 10 minutes of “Avengers”. I typically wouldn’t go for such shenanigans, but in that situation, I would consider it.
I saw it this afternoon and liked it well enough. I hadn’t seen all the related movies, so there were some moments of confusion, but I had seen enough of them to enjoy the film.
/giphy two thumbs up
@capguncowboy@cinoclav@eonfifty as the credits start rolling for any movie, the first thing I do is search if there’s an after credits scene.
The only credits I’ve watched and read properly lately even though I knew there was no after credits scene was Chernobyl. I felt like that show really deserved to be read.
It’s showing here tomorrow at 9:15- I’ll buy the popcorn.
Unless you have seen all the other movies I recommend against it, it’s like going to a high school reunion only to find out after you get there that it’s not your high school!
@ajdillon This is true…you really do need to have seen the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in order to fully enjoy Endgame.
@ajdillon @PooltoyWolf if not you definitely won’t get that reference
I thought it had come out several weeks ago! Is it still showing? Am I missing something?
(It was really good, by the way.)
@PooltoyWolf They are re-releasing it with new footage…so…lol
Gotta milk the cow.
@therealjrn Are they really? Wow…
@PooltoyWolf Yep.
@PooltoyWolf They are trying to beat Avatar’s sales record. I will have to wait to see it, still recovering from the first viewing.
@PooltoyWolf Re-release with added scenes. Just like a DVD, only, IN A THEATER.
@PooltoyWolf @therealjrn New footage? What… they looked around the floor in the editing room and decided to glue on a little more film?
Yes, we saw it weeks ago only to discover we missed one (the 3rd one I guess).
@daveinwarsh @PooltoyWolf Yep–they swept up the cutting room floor and noticed all those dollar bills laying there–lol
Been out for a while now but I’ve yet to see it. Have plans on going by myself, getting a big popcorn and enjoying. (but it’s never been the same since Thor cut his hair!)
@lseeber Go see it! That’s all I can say because I’m worried I will accidentally spoil something for you
@lseeber you need to go see it. You will be SHOCKED. Lol
@lseeber Thor has long hair again.
@mehbee I know it! My grands and daughter were here for a week and they all saw it. It was constantly,… NO… HUSH! (They did slip out a few things tho
@RiotDemon YAY!!!
@RiotDemon They must have gotten my email and tweets!
@lseeber @RiotDemon I want you to go see if so that I can talk Thor with you!
Because three hours was just too short.
@blaineg I was JUST going to say that. OMG too long
@blaineg I love epic length movies…if they’re good.
@blaineg It needs an ‘intermission’ in the middle, like long epics used to do…
@blaineg @daveinwarsh It really needed about an hour cut out. I liked End Game but it’s not exactly Dr. Zhivago.
@blaineg @daveinwarsh Yeah… I miss those intermissions. Although, I go to the movies about once every 2-3 yrs so, no big deal for me. I usually watch at home so I just make my own intermission “pause” .

@DrWorm @RiotDemon I love The Shining!
@DrWorm @sammydog01 I hope it’s worth the 30+ minute drive and $24 ticket price.
It’s a friend’s favorite movie and he hates to see movies alone so I’ll at least have company.
@DrWorm @RiotDemon @sammydog01
@DrWorm @RiotDemon @lseeber It’s a good movie to see when it’s really hot out with all the snow. Did you see they’re making a movie out of the sequel?
@DrWorm @lseeber @sammydog01 yes! I’m excited about the sequel.
Watching it on the big screen was interesting. While the movie has good parts, it has a lot of faults. The acting made me chuckle. There was some people screaming in the theatre. I don’t know if this was their first time watching it or they were just hamming it up.

@DrWorm @lseeber @RiotDemon @sammydog01 What would you say if I told you you never left the theater RD?
@DrWorm @RiotDemon @sammydog01 @therealjrn There is no theater.
@DrWorm @lseeber @RiotDemon @sammydog01
@DrWorm @lseeber @RiotDemon Yeah, twenty bucks seems kind of high for something that’s on Hulu. Were there any added parts? Could you see a difference? Did they finally put the bunny topiary in there? I was disappointed there wasn’t a bunny topiary.
@DrWorm @RiotDemon @sammydog01 @therealjrn See?!
@DrWorm @lseeber @RiotDemon @sammydog01 The maze worked better for the movie I guess, but when they killed Scatman Crothers I died a little inside.
@DrWorm @lseeber @RiotDemon @therealjrn I know, right? They hire this amazing actor to play a really cool part from the book and then just kill him.

Nah, once was enough. Unless they totally redid it, I have no intentions of watching it again.
@tnhillbillygal Oh I do, but I’ll wait until it comes out on Amazon. I know I missed things especially during certain parts.
No
i think i’ll wait until i can stream it,
/youtube or maybe knot
I saw it this afternoon and liked it well enough. I hadn’t seen all the related movies, so there were some moments of confusion, but I had seen enough of them to enjoy the film.

@eonfifty what was after the credits?
@RiotDemon
There were three: a tribute to Stan Lee, a deleted hulk scene and something from the newest Spiderman movie.
/image Mysterio
@eonfifty thanks! I think I’ll skip seeing it in theatres again for that.
@RiotDemon
What was after the credits in the first release?
@eonfifty @RiotDemon not a damn thing – at least, not that I noticed. I was kinda’ pissed I sat through 10 minutes of credits for nothing
@eonfifty @capguncowboy the sound of Tony Stark’s hammer when he was making the first suit. One hit.
They rereleased the movie with extras hoping that super fans would watch it again and gain more money to beat out Avatar.
@capguncowboy @eonfifty @RiotDemon One of my go-to sites, especially for Marvel movies.

Ahh. That’s what that sound was. You might want to go see the newest one because there’s an extra two or three hammer sounds
