Would this help with plantar fasciitis? I’ve had it since heel surgery last year and would love to find something that will help me walk without discomfort.
@JT954 I think these are for muscle stimulation. For example, post-surgery recovery PT. Maybe poor circulation, etc.
You should ask your doctor or podiatrist. My hunch is that there’s no substantiated benefit to this as a PF therapy or else doctors would be prescribing it and people would be going to PT for TENS treatments for their PF.
There’s a reason there’s no science for things that don’t work. In capitalism-driven science, failed experiments (knowledge that something doesn’t fit the theory/hypothesis) aren’t useful as a product, so there’s no value to publicizing a negative outcome. i.e. they get buried and in a for-profit industry, they are a loss.
@JT954 yes, I bought a similar unit for my mom with the sandals and it helped a ton. You can also use the normal electrodes on the right spot on your calves and it can help.
@JT954@nzdod Seconded on the Tennis Ball or a firm roller.
Someone whispered (not sure they want to be outed):
Most, if not all, of the PTs I’ve seen over the years have high powered EMS (e-stim) and tens units. E-stim is used to help relax muscles while TENS is used to help block nerve pain. They absolutely help and have scientific backing.
I don’t doubt it. I am skeptical of claims relating to benefits treating Plantar Fasciitis specifically.
Hey Meh. My 73-year-old mom wants you to know this looks like junk, and that you should be selling masks and Purell instead. I mean, I’ve explained the Meh concept to her, but she wants you to know she’s disappointed anyway.
Do not buy this shit. These things have been sitting around for so long that the battery will not take a charge. It only works while plugged in and it is not designed to be used while plugged in to an outlet. I contacted Meh for my purchase and they told to me to try the manufacturer. Worst customer experience ever with Meh. Enough that I would seriously think about ever buying anything electronic from this site again. I just threw the whole unit out.
I had pretty much forgotten about this thing. Then they go and put this shit up for sale again.
For those asking about the slippers, they are small. I am a 10 1/2 and they were too small for me.
@ponagathos I bought an earlier model from Meh (no slippers and stuff, just unit / charger / pads / electrodes) and have actually been quite surprised by how long the charge lasts. It gets pretty strong but still lasts a couple hours, I would have expected more like 20 minutes. No issues so far. Maybe it’s just this model?
@ponagathos@Telanis I received a standard set in an IRK & can say that the battery has worked extremely well too. I was tempted to pick up this as an extra set with the slippers but I too am 10 1/2. Thank you for pointing that out.
I’m creeped out about the Siouxsie and the Banshees joke in the description. I literally put on Ornaments of Gold to listen to, and then immediately went to check out what is on meh.com’s daily deal, and I’m treated to a case of Jungian synchronicity. Whomever writes these descriptions–you probably have good taste, which is why you’re able to be creative.
Nine out of TENS meh customers would rather get an actual massage than hooking up a little bug zapper to their feet, or any other place those electrodes are likely to stick to.
Got one in a Fuko. It lasted about 3 weeks. Just long enough to get me hooked. I bought another. It lasted 30 minutes. This kit has lots of stuff but the little rechargable energizer isn’t up to the task.
Most, if not all, of the Physical Therapists I’ve seen over the years have high powered EMS (e-stim) and tens units. E-stim is used to help relax muscles while tens is used to help block nerve pain. They absolutely help and have scientific backing.
That said, these types are very low powered. Knowing where to place the pads is important. I’ve actually had this unit and it was ok. It’s impossible to find replacement pads as most pads have a different size snap. …Only having 2 electrodes is unfortunate as well… Apparently it only has 2 wires but each has 2 pads. Mine didn’t… It doesn’t work as well as other units I’ve had in the same price range.
Best thing would be to go to PT and get one prescribed if they think it can help.
I got this for my wife. She has weird pains from running from time to time. I’ll say that when it works, she said it was helpful. It mostly didn’t work well though. I would say it’s occasionally helpful junk.
I’ve had one for a long time. It’s been sitting in my closet, so I charged it overnight. Zaps just like it did before.
As for power? I use it at power 3-4 (constantly resets to 0 so you don’t zap yourself unexpectedly). I’m not sure if I want to know what powers 5 and up feel like.
Just haven’t had pains worth using it on, which is good. Size 15 feet, so the sandals are completely useless, if we’re measuring.

What an inTENSe product offering today.
But how big are the slippers? Feet aren’t one size fits all!
@CaptainSparkles
Dang, I just bought one less than 2 months ago.
Shocking!
“hey! want to see fluffy jump?”
Looks like a torture setup
@Stallion Everyone needs one!
@Stallion It’s not like this product is specifically designed for one contact on the chest, and the other on the nads.
@rtjhnstn @Stallion not with that attitude

Which is unfortunate for Science.

@JT954 A hard tennis ball massage is your best bet. If there’s inflammation, freeze a water bottle and roll it under your foot for 10 min.
@JT954 @nzdod Seconded on the Tennis Ball or a firm roller.

@UncleVinny You got to love your mom. She is funny. Bless her!!
These are TENS times better than an EMS chest massage.

@ponagathos thanks for the info, pretty much dispels any inclination to buy

@ponagathos @robson “ I am a 10 1/2” don’t listen to him, he’s just a kid.
Thank you, ponagathos. was gonna, maybe, then read your comment. meh. I’ll keep using a completely different type that uses AA batteries.

Because it is the end times of Coronageddon

@mehcuda67 Oh-you have tried that too also?
I was thinking of buying this, mainly for the foot massage aspect. Then I figured there must be many other options that are also far better. Pass.
Whoa… a “Siouxsie and the Banshees” reference (in the joke). You guys are really reaching back in time. Good on you.

@asrah I believe these pads work? smile.amazon
