Inquiring Minds Want To Know?
10I like others got 25 Trackr pixels in my latest IRK. Given the seemly never ending continuing disbursement of these things, I think it is time Meh disclosed to us one of their most closely guarded secrets. How many of these did the acquire, how many have they given out and how many do they have left? Inquiring Minds Want to Know?

Be careful what you ask for. You could end up with four pallets of TrackRs on your driveway and an accurate answer about the quantity remaining of “None, now.”
@werehatrack If so I would go down in the Meh record books along the person who received the pallet of 40 broken flat screen TV’s.
I already must be in the record books somewhere for the most personalized IRK’s received (ie balls, dead horse, each item individually bubble wrapped and boxed) as well as possibly and arguably the best IRK ever received.
@Felton10 @werehatrack
arguably the best IRK ever received.
I must not have been on the forums yet; what was in it?
@Felton10 I got a goat specific Fuko with goat food, salt lick, goat bedding, and other goat specific items. I have a good friend with a pet goat so I was able to re-home all of it.
@cengland0 Oh yeh-forgot that included in one IRK was a bird toy for Walter.
@Felton10 @werehatrack I wish I had been the recipient of 40 broken TVs, so long as a not-small number of them had intact LCD panels…
@Felton10 @PooltoyWolf @werehatrack
Hey F10 didn’t you get a PlayStation or something one time?
@chienfou @PooltoyWolf @werehatrack Yeh-I got the X box series X-gave it to my son and he registered it and it was new and had never been registered before.
@cengland0 @Felton10 Yeah I remember the goat irk you had. That was hilarious. I miss meh doing things like this to people as often as they did in the past. I mean they still do it on occasion but it was always interesting watching irk reveals to see what personalized, “joke”, or humorous irks would show up for a rare couple of people.
@PooltoyWolf I think they were 1080p back then but it you have suggestions on what to do with a 1440p monitir panel that just turned off and can’t get boards for… I hate to throw it in the trash.
@unksol If the LCD panel itself is still intact, you’re still ahead of the game. Check on the boards inside for bulged or leaking capacitors, especially on the power supply.
@Felton10 @PooltoyWolf @werehatrack that man was me.
@PooltoyWolf well. I assume the panel is fine/not a scratch on it. electric engineering tech… Nothing obviously wrong with it. I have the caps and the soldering iron. First thing I did was tear it apart hoping for a blown cap. And now I’m just remembering I forgot to do the flashlight test and see if the back light burned out… fucking idiot…
I needed it for work at the time and went right to the caps. I know better… Grumble grumble fuck fuck.
No wait the power wouldn’t even come on. No light nothing. That’s why
@djslack @Felton10 @werehatrack Aw the pictures are broken!
@unksol No power LED at all is likely some kind of power supply issue, could be a fuse. I assume this monitor has an internal power supply, not an AC adapter/wall wart?
@PooltoyWolf standard internal power supply board and display board set setup from ~2016. Nothing obviously blown. Been over them visually couple times. I’m guessing one of the ICs went. I haven’t actually traced the power yet, cause i kinda needed to work and went to Best buy the next night as they had the only reasonabl replacement.
Can’t get the power board from it or any similar model/replacement part number anymore. It did make it 7 years.
Technically it could be something as dumb as I wore out the power button. Need to check that and some other things… Just another project
@djslack @Felton10 @PooltoyWolf @werehatrack I think that was before they switched the pic upload method. I’m having to remind myself not to necro post/star things
@Felton10 @lisagd @werehatrack I may be tied for best. I got a new Playstation 5 in an IRK!
@cbilyak @lisagd @werehatrack I remember that you got yours soon after I got mine.
@cbilyak @Felton10 @lisagd Glad those went to folks who have a use for them. Here, a Playstation would get handed off to a friend who could make use of it.
@cbilyak @lisagd @werehatrack Both my children wanted the x box-with the chip shortage they were selling for way over list and my daughter wanted to sell it on ebay as she had done with many other items I had gotten in IRKs. She was pissed when I gave it to my son who was looking to upgrade his older gaming system. Told her want to give it to someone who was going to use it rather than sell it.
Probably all that was remaining from TrackR.
Not all of them.
No. Can I haz moar catshirts?
@narfcake
Given that near the end, the TrackR website basically referred people to Meh, “All that TrackR had left” seems like a very high probability.
@narfcake @werehatrack Hey if there are people who still want them I have 60 or 70 or so I can GIVE them for postage. Haven’t tossed them since I think I can’t just put them in the trash and I am lazy.
@narfcake As CPA, I deal with and want numbers-your answer is too vague and inarticulate.
@Felton10 @narfcake
The answer is obviously 42.
@chienfou @Felton10 @narfcake What’s the question?
@blaineg Classically, The Question is “What do you get if you multiply six by nine?” Douglas Adams was appalled when it was pointed out that the answer works - in base 13. There are people who believe that this miscorrespondence was the result of the Universe having one on Adams.
@blaineg @werehatrack Did you know that 6 percent of 9 is the same as 9 percent of 6? This number is the number of remaining Tracks.
I mean if atarri can bury ET in the desert. And meh is in Texas…
@unksol Carrollton isn’t anywhere near a desert. Although, if this drought keeps up, there might be a few empty lake beds.
@ironcheftoni @unksol Back in June, driving back from the PNW, I was taking note of how green and lush the conditions were along 287 from Amarillo to Foat Wuth. It had me wondering just how much worse than usual the wildfire danger was going to be right about now as a result. Crossing what is generally the mostly-empty wash of the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River, I actually saw water from bank to bank, flowing briskly, for the first and only time out of the dozens of trips I’ve made through there in the past 50 years. And here we are, three months later, once again in a drought.
I did a guess at one point.
36 months approx of Trackrs * 1000 irks a month * average of 5 Trackrs per box.
Means 180,000 Trackrs. Now, any one of my numbers could be wrong so I could be wildly off.
But assuming a nice round number of a quarter million Trackrs originally would put their supply of Trackrs down to just 9 more months of the damn things.
All completely conjecture and guess work of course.
@OnionSoup And given the fact that lately we’ve been seeing them tossed in IRKs by the case lot, I think that even the staff would adore the chance to be rid of them once and for all.
So, obviously, once they think that has been accomplished, it will be our duty to occasionally send a few back, anonymously, lest they forget.
I know giving us this info might give away some proprietary secrets about their business, but would be interesting to know the what is the max number of any one item they have bought. The trackrs have to be right near the top.
@Felton10 If you add all of the brands together, they probably have handled more of the face masks, but only because of the plague.
@werehatrack
Pre-pandemic you probably couldn’t have given masks away in any significant quantity…
@Felton10 Right up there with candy corn bricks and fidget spinners. On halloween the kids adored the fidget spinners I handed out. Only 2 didn’t want them.
@Kidsandliz Couple of years ago right before Halloween, Meh had 1 lb bags of candy corn really cheap and was toying with the idea of buying a bunch and dropping a bag in each trick or treat bag.
