@christinerenee It's not a battery pack. This is useful if your power cord has gone to shit and you don't want to buy a new one. We got the larger wattage one a while back and it works great on my old laptop that my husband uses.
@Rstoker They could have been more clear in their write-up. Especially when they called it a power pack. As in when they wrote "...-so wait, where were we? Oh, right, this battery charger power-pack thingy. It'll charge laptops up to 65W..."
@sparkyfarad Yeah WRITE UP FAIL. I had to go to amazon to see if it was an emergency battery back up which is what I first presumed based on the write up (so would have bought it) or not (nope not), and then noticed in the reviews that it didn't work with a pile of computers it said it did and the company has really crappy (as in it resembles the black hole of Calcutta) customer service… So decided nope, meh. Hopefully they will refund the money of those who bought it thinking it was an emergency power battery.
@SteveOOO That's kind of what happens when you buy Apple products. You get roped into their walled garden of proprietary accessories. This should be common knowledge among consumers.
Apple thinks it can do better than the herd with connectors. The price one pays is that cheap commodity stuff doesn't generally make the effort to support it.
@jlodom You've gotta admit it's a pretty good design though. I've snagged mine a few times and it just pops loose versus ripping something loose. Oh well, I guess I'll shell out the 80 bucks eventually.
@SteveOOO I've accidentally yanked my power cord loose at least a few times just in the last day. Magsafe is awesome. I understand the benefit of universality, though.
@Headly So True, Always hated Macbooks, But when my wife convinced me to get one, I love it. Battery life on pro's is amazing, no need to charge for days, and I mean days. Its expensive, for sure, but lightweight and battery life wins it. Also, I am less frustrated when I do not have to wait to restart my comp (it takes 1 sec to turn on).
I bought it the last time it came up. It listed Asus as one of the things it would power... but it lacked my unit's tip. I haven't received the proper tip yet, so....
We bought the larger wattage one that was sold a while back. My husband uses it with my old laptop (17 inch) and it works well. The cord that came with it no longer sat in the charging port tightly so it was a bitch to charge. This one, however, fits well. So, if you have issues with your current power cord (and have a smaller device since this one isn't compatible with a 17 inch, apparently) this is worth the money to see if it helps.
@vanjan Is it that new square charger on the laptop? Lenovo used the same round one on the ThinkPad for the past decade, until recently. Now I have to keep several adapters around. Super annoying.
For $4 it's worth a buy. I am always throwing my laptop and Chromebook in my backpack and forget to pack the power cord. I will keep this little guy in my backpack so I always have power.
@conandlibrarian@mamawoot according to Innergie's tips page, they have tips for both the Acer and HP Chrome Books. Not sure whether they are included but if not, they are "free". (After $5 shipping. . . Yah, ironic to potentially pay more for the tip than the power supply.)
It's only $4 which is nothing but this thing has useless 1A usb and tips don't match anything according to Amazon reviews.. I'll either order 10 or none
Well, look who the fuck it is, Five Dolla Special. A temptress sooo shady she will get you to buy just about anything for $5 and under. Filthy bitch she is, in for three for no fucking reason.
I was ready to be upset since this Innergie mCube Lite "universal charger" is 33% cheaper than the one I bought from meh in January ($4 vs. $6 mCube Pro Inflight) .
But then I realized that one I bought in January is more flexible - it includes not only the marginally useful airplane power port adapter, but also a car 12-volt adapter.
So I'm not upset. Thanks meh.
P.S. These are nicely packaged kits - not highly refined, but definitely better than I expected.
P.P.S.: We found ours (70 watt vs today's 65 watt) did not have enough juice to power our older 16 inch Toshiba, but it did fine on a newer 14 inch HP. So check your laptop's power juice needs first.
These do not seem to come with the plug for newer Lenovo laptops with the rectangular charger plugs (see photo), and their site does not have them as well!!
Source: I bought the Innergie mCube Pro Inflight when it was on Meh, and made this discovery...
@Zally Order the free tip D1, that's supposed to work for that connector type. I have absolutely nothing to back that up other than putting my Lenovo (AHHH) U430's number into their tip checker thingy.
@michaelahess I believe that the "free" tips require $5 shipping. An alternative is an "old lenovo to new lenovo adapter" (my name for it), such as: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281369596109 (costs about $1)
@PecosBill yep, that Lenovo let that happen does not say good things about their crapware eval process. And while I get that crapware reduces their cost (at great customer pain), pre-installing Adware (security risk or not)? No Lenovo for our house or those who ask for advice.
Bought both prior versions sold here - I have an itty bitty 45W HP Revolve and have used this as my primary charger for about a month now and its been great.
One complaint about it though - the pin that plugs into the block is pretty shrimpy and comes unplugged if I am moving my computer a lot (like when working from bed and the cord is hanging) but for general desk use, it's great.
Small, cheap, supports a bunch of different models of notebooks and probably other things. Has USB port. Probably will void my laptops warranty since I didn't use the one from the MFG - so basically $9 to void my warranty - awesome!
In for three cuz it only cost four! At first I thought these were a backup battery too, but by the time I read the comments it was too late because I already ordered. The lesson is, as always, READ THE COMMENTS FIRST.
Hey meh, what tips come with this? The manufacturer page does not say. They apparently have tips for most anything and a "free tip" program if the package doesn't come with the one you need, but a "free tip" will cost $5.00 shipping.
The Acer c720 mentioned above needs "Tip L", and my machine needs "Tip F", but which tips come in the package?
This is a great deal if it works for your computer. It says yes to HP / Compaq I think but if your power cord ends in a blue tip (look at the part you plug into the computer) this will not work for you. FYI.
I bought one when it was $6, thinking I'd just stick it on the shelf for the next time someone needed an adapter. It turns out, I needed one for an old Acer laptop. It seems minimally adequate for the job.
In for one. My first purchase here. I actually need one of these for my, uh, Lenovo. Yes, I have two Lenovo laptops. I have checked both and neither have the NSA, I mean Lenovo, backed spyware.
Qualitative-Bogus-Feeling. Sums it up pretty well. My VMP freebies were shipping to my 'last order address'. Since my last order was a gift for someone else, I needed to buy something to get my default address back to MY shipping address. Seemed like $4 was worth it to reset the defaults. My contribution to the web dev... But Yes, a bit of a qualitative bogus feeling right about now.
I DARE YOU MEH TO OFFER US FREE VMP AGAIN TONIGHT!!.just kiddin, I wud appreciate if u do that 😁. All of us who got free VMp set to expire tonight, take note Meher's!
@bluetide My account info page indicates that my VMP (which I got during the free promotion) is set to renew on Feb 25. That should give us until the 24th to opt out if we so desire.
Got the car cord last time it was up, and it worked great for my small laptop. So I figure I'll grab a couple of these, as backups, or to put in other locations where I frequently want to power up, but without having to move adapters around. One for the travel bag, and then I don't have to unplug the one at the office when I get up and go. Bonus.
Dude, the thing has a USB outlet too. So you can use a source of extra unicorn tears for your iPrecious while in flight. At this price, for this much power, that's a huge steal.
@scottj It's not portable battery, it's a power adapter. You have to plug it into the wall. I've never seen a 110v wall plug on a plane, so you'd need a very long extension cord!
Hey i could use a cheap 18-21V power supply! It will probably be used for random electronics projects, it's useless for my MacBooks Pro, but $4 for a reasonably high quality DC power supply is $4.
This purple stepper motor controller takes a relatively high voltage, like 21 volts, and limits the current to efficiently drive a stepper motor nominally rated at a lower voltage. A 3 amp 21 volt power supply can power a half dozen 6 volt 1.5 amp stepper motors, with microstepping. Just the thing to make an animatronic purple dinosaur.
In for two! Innergie is Delta's design brand, so what is inside is what famous makers use for their OEM AC adapters. Much better than no-brand cheap adapters from eBay. Gonna use as backups, one form my NUC and other for my Qumi Q5 projector (Qumi is also Delta's subsidiary). Thanks meh! After woot went bad I was missing buying stuff I don't need just because it's so dirty cheap!
Bought 2 last night, love the USB charger on these, even if it is 1A. Still very convenient, and still faster than most laptops charge devices. Wifey and I both have 65W laptops so these are great replacements.
Thought these would have sold out by now at $4 a pop.
@JonT Is this another case if meh selling an item you do not have in the warehouse yet? That is getting old... People are saying items bought 6 days later shipped, but not this?
@Thumperchick There are some weather delays because of snow in the Dallas area. However, we were able to get into the office yesterday and started the shipping process. Since shipping has already started I can’t cancel this.
@yeondoo The reason I linked that, is because a staff member said that yesterday. The're still behind and will get tracking and shipping updated as soon as they can.
It's been so long since I ordered these, my credit card expired that I used to place the order. I'm hoping they see my email stating that fact, so they can charge the new card.
These have all now shipped, check https://meh.com/orders for your tracking number. Sorry for the delay, as hard as we try we can't control the weather…yet…
BEWARE- Adapter J is supposed to be for SAMSUNG, but does NOT fit ATIV BOOK 9 Lite notebook, and neither does any of the others... looks like all I can use is the USB charger feature!
the "Free Tip" costs more than the actual device..... $5 shipping for their "free tip", which i'm sure will just ship in a USPS flat envelope and will cost them a dollar to ship.
hmph. Just emailed meh saying the battery feature in mine wasn't working. Then I read some comments, and meekly emailed again saying I'd made a mistake and thought I'd bought something else. Now after reading a few comments, I'm not sure I'm entirely to blame. "Oh, right, this battery charger power-pack thingy. It'll charge laptops up to 65W..." could be read to say it charges batteries. It could also be read that it's a battery for charging. It was 4 bucks, so I'm far from crying foul... but I will read more carefully in the future.

This thing seems like it should be something I am supposed to buy, but I'm not going to.... you should though.
@lichme yeah definitely (not) in for three.
Meh....I've already got a universal adapter....heh..heh...heh...
Lenovo. Ha.
I would buy this if I were you.
Biiiig meh. Have one and I don't even want it!
Check wattage and voltage of the device you intend to power with this. Either one could disqualify the device.
I'll go ahead and stay out of this
@thekenya if that makes any sense
Good write up today guys. But meh.
I know this is a stupid question but I want to understand this thing and I'm really tired right now.
I can charge this thing by itself and then bring it with me to use as a back up charger for my laptop?
Or it's just a thing that I use to connect my laptop to an outlet so it can be charged?
@christinerenee It's just a power cord for a laptop. It doesn't have a battery in it.
@christinerenee It's not a battery pack. This is useful if your power cord has gone to shit and you don't want to buy a new one. We got the larger wattage one a while back and it works great on my old laptop that my husband uses.
@Rstoker @PurplePawprints Thank you.
@christinerenee The latter. In case you need a new (and small) power source for your laptop. (edit: beaten!)
@Rstoker They could have been more clear in their write-up. Especially when they called it a power pack. As in when they wrote "...-so wait, where were we? Oh, right, this battery charger power-pack thingy. It'll charge laptops up to 65W..."

Hopefully they will refund the money of those who bought it thinking it was an emergency power battery.
Why isn't anything compatible with Apple? Jesus Christ!!
@SteveOOO because that's exactly what Apple intended.
@SteveOOO I'm sure there's a compatible docking speaker, clock, etc. for an apple device available.

@SteveOOO I've accidentally yanked my power cord loose at least a few times just in the last day. Magsafe is awesome. I understand the benefit of universality, though.
@Dankk The only proprietary things are mag safe, which honestly, how many power bricks do you need for you computer, and lightning, which is arguably better that micro USB do to its symmetrical design. Yes they are more expensive, but how many extras does one need? THere are adapters for magsafe: http://www.bixpower.com/CNT-C28-p/cnt-c28.htm and for lightning http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Micro-Lightning-Adapter-Certified/dp/B00M4QANB4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1424617150&sr=8-3&keywords=micro+usb+lightning+adapter if you want to use old school cables...
@SteveOOO I don't think JC had anything to do with whether or not it is Apple compatible.
@RedOak Oh my glob. Like seriously.
We will say "meh" again to you if you do not appease us!
@AlexNoVA ...or "neh".
@AlexNoVA We are the Knights of Meh and we say "meh."
My Mac Book is magical and never runs out of charge. So meh.
@bluetide and the mag safe connector has saved my laptop from ending up on the floor at leadt once.
Don't use the one I Meh'd already. Meh!
Meh, even at $4 with VMP.
I bought it the last time it came up. It listed Asus as one of the things it would power... but it lacked my unit's tip. I haven't received the proper tip yet, so....
...yeah, maybe someday.
We bought the larger wattage one that was sold a while back. My husband uses it with my old laptop (17 inch) and it works well. Funny thing is, none of those adaptor tips fit my Lenovo laptop...
@vanjan Oh, don't worry. Lenovo's been monitoring your communications and is now aware of your problem. They'll be sending you a new one on Monday.
@deafinoneear I see what u did thar....
@vanjan Is it that new square charger on the laptop? Lenovo used the same round one on the ThinkPad for the past decade, until recently. Now I have to keep several adapters around. Super annoying.
@The_Baron Yep, I have the Lenovo Y50
garrulous-vulnerable-reindeer
For $4 it's worth a buy. I am always throwing my laptop and Chromebook in my backpack and forget to pack the power cord. I will keep this little guy in my backpack so I always have power.
@conandlibrarian good luck getting a tip to fit.
@conandlibrarian @mamawoot according to Innergie's tips page, they have tips for both the Acer and HP Chrome Books. Not sure whether they are included but if not, they are "free". (After $5 shipping. . . Yah, ironic to potentially pay more for the tip than the power supply.)
@RedOak Does not work with my HP Chromebook. Only on select chromebooks.
@ninkumpoop did you enter your HP model into the Innergie tips page to see if they have a different tip that is not included in the bag?
It's only $4 which is nothing but this thing has useless 1A usb and tips don't match anything according to Amazon reviews.. I'll either order 10 or none
@satih I'd go with "none".
@satih 1A USB is a complete fail for most these days. Meh!
@Kerig3 why? An iPhone, for example, only comes with a 1 amp charger.
I would totally buy this, but my.laptop is 90w
Well, look who the fuck it is, Five Dolla Special. A temptress sooo shady she will get you to buy just about anything for $5 and under. Filthy bitch she is, in for three for no fucking reason.
Aye, @studerc - meh can be a cruel mistress.
@studerc In for one and I dont even own a laptop.
If meh laptop is 180w, can i buy 3 and create a universal daisy chain to charge it? At least my feet will be warm soon...
I've got two other Innergie items from meh that I haven't used yet. I think the 'meh' stops here.
A scathing Slate article "You Had One Job, Lenovo"
http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/bitwise/2015/02/lenovo_superfish_scandal_why_it_s_one_of_the_worst_consumer_computing_screw.html
Bought the Pro version last time.

@Zally With a delicate touch, these might help:
@Zally Order the free tip D1, that's supposed to work for that connector type. I have absolutely nothing to back that up other than putting my Lenovo (AHHH) U430's number into their tip checker thingy.
@Zally Just trying to figure that out myself, thanks :)
@michaelahess Tip D1 is the round one that fits old Lenovo laptops.
@michaelahess I believe that the "free" tips require $5 shipping. An alternative is an "old lenovo to new lenovo adapter" (my name for it), such as: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281369596109 (costs about $1)
@WaltC Thanks so much! just bought 1, hopefully it will ship before the world comes to an end... :-)
@WaltC I'm going to run Hong Kong out of these. Guess it will always work with my dells
Very Mehtastic for me as I have all Apple and no laptop but major kudos to the PSA for Lenovo's COLOSSAL fail
@PecosBill yep, that Lenovo let that happen does not say good things about their crapware eval process. And while I get that crapware reduces their cost (at great customer pain), pre-installing Adware (security risk or not)? No Lenovo for our house or those who ask for advice.
Soooooo what's is this thing?
@brianmc1975 It's just a spare laptop charging cable.
Buying as a spare for my Toshiba Laptop. Didn't have any luck with chargers when I had a Dell, so will be proactive here.
literate-thrilling-puma - had to get it - as a spare and for when I'm out and about helping people with computers...
Just need to ensure it's idle while charging.
Ok fine.
This is going to work for my Acer c720 chromebook? Because my charger I currently have is 1.6a input and this is only 1.5a so I can't use this???
My Lenovo Z710 scan results
Small, cheap, supports a bunch of different models of notebooks and probably other things. Has USB port. Probably will void my laptops warranty since I didn't use the one from the MFG - so basically $9 to void my warranty - awesome!
In for three cuz it only cost four! At first I thought these were a backup battery too, but by the time I read the comments it was too late because I already ordered. The lesson is, as always, READ THE COMMENTS FIRST.
But again, not canceling cuz three for four!
Today was my 80th "meh" button press!!!
Hey meh, what tips come with this? The manufacturer page does not say. They apparently have tips for most anything and a "free tip" program if the package doesn't come with the one you need, but a "free tip" will cost $5.00 shipping.

Hey i could use a cheap 18-21V power supply! It will probably be used for random electronics projects, it's useless for my MacBooks Pro, but $4 for a reasonably high quality DC power supply is $4.
@minivanmegafun Pretty good for powering fancy purple stepper motor drivers from Pololu https://www.pololu.com/product/2133
This purple stepper motor controller takes a relatively high voltage, like 21 volts, and limits the current to efficiently drive a stepper motor nominally rated at a lower voltage. @hamjudo Purple!

Very excited to make my second Meh purchase. Going to add it to my pile of batteries and adapters.
Hi my name is kc5rbq and I am addicted to Meh. I just purchased ANOTHER of these.
Anyone know where I can find a 12v car input for these things? e.g. to plug other car adapters into.
Bought 2 last night, love the USB charger on these, even if it is 1A. Still very convenient, and still faster than most laptops charge devices. Wifey and I both have 65W laptops so these are great replacements.

Is this ever shipping out? regreting buying it at this point.
@bruinscbr they're shipping out as soon as possible, there was a bit of a delay.
@JonT Is this another case if meh selling an item you do not have in the warehouse yet? That is getting old... People are saying items bought 6 days later shipped, but not this?
@bruinscbr I puchased on 2-22-15 and it still has not shipped. Whas up with that?d
I ordered this item but didn't receive tracking number.
@yeondoo As @JonT said
@Thumperchick Meh said me at Feb.25.
Not shipped yet? But my Sphero that I ordered 6 days after this has...
@tylerk Thats actually what I was wondering! Is this another case of them selling an item they did not actually have yet?
I'm really hoping this danged adapter arrives before the end of the month. I'm going on a trip and I bought this specifically for that purpose.
It's been so long since I ordered these, my credit card expired that I used to place the order. I'm hoping they see my email stating that fact, so they can charge the new card.
Meh started shipping.
I got tracking number.
I hope no more snow in TX
These have all now shipped, check https://meh.com/orders for your tracking number. Sorry for the delay, as hard as we try we can't control the weather…yet…
@bruinscbr @bayrover @tylerk @simonli @jzmacdaddy
I had so forgotten that I order these. And three of them no less. Got mine today and it works my laptop.
BEWARE- Adapter J is supposed to be for SAMSUNG, but does NOT fit ATIV BOOK 9 Lite notebook, and neither does any of the others... looks like all I can use is the USB charger feature!
