@mikibell What is irritating to me is that I checked for tics (we all knew they were on the farm - when I was sitting under the apple tree one crawled across my hand so I got up and moved to the porch) and somehow missed this one. It wasn’t even hard to get off because it was about ready to drop off on its own. Typically they need to be on 24+ hours to get this (if it is carrying Lyme that is) so a decent tick check should prevent it. I can understand why she missed a week of work. Just kill me now.

@f00l In the first round of the wedding dresses there better be pictures if @Barney picks picture 5 (the white see through one). Picture 6 (the back of the purple one) is lovely but if they had premarital relations during the “long” engagement and then wants to elope because of attempts to give the Prince an heir than Picture 7 would hide the baby bump better so that we can attend and pretend we see nothing. During the reception round of pictures number 1 is beautiful number 2 could hide the baby bump (since she will have handmaidens to do altering) that we will still pretend we know nothing about and number 3 is just is more in line for what a princess should wear sticking to the royal colors.

With everything you are already dealing with in your life and having an already weakened immune system from everything you are dealing with in your health it saddens me to hear that this has afflicted and impacted your life and health. You, of all people, do not deserve yet another blow. You were at a family reunion and also taking care of your mother and then you return home to this! Sometimes I hate the world and right now I really, really, REALLY hate this world. Please get better - I’ll be wishing upon the stars.

At least it was caught early it is likely will go away with few problems. Sucks to have it then again my bad for missing a tick, especially since in previous years other cousins have gotten lyme from ticks on the farm so it isn’t like I wasn’t warned or anything LOL. Actually I am feeling far better now than I was. The magic of antibiotics.

@Pantheist Well that sucks for 6 summers and having it for 7 months… I now have a second rash and I was told it takes about 48 hours for the antibiotic to kick in. I hope they are right.

@Kidsandliz Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. You caught it early and modern medicine is incredible.

@Pantheist I know I was very lucky. Knew I had a tick (pulled off the nasty engorged little thing July 2), and while that rash at the tick bite isn’t usual lyme, the one that just showed up on my chest is more like one (except no center which is odd). Had 3 cousins that had delayed diagnoses and had neurologic issues. So I know I am very, very lucky.

@RiotDemon How did you get the them out? I mean, I’ve got so much glue in them. How did you get all of the glue out of the clasps?

Edit I also picked out a couple of clapses that I think might hold better. I’m not sure about the originals staying closed.

@Barney the one pulled all the glue out with the leather bits. The second one, I had to pull the bits out individually, with considerably more force. Then I took a knife to scrape out the bigger chunks of glue.

@Barney now that the bracelet is shorter, it’s actually hard for me to undo the clasp. I dislike bracelets that don’t stay on my wrist, so it’s a price I’m willing to pay.

@RiotDemon I’m thinking I will have to take off 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. Maybe.

@Barney I measured the pieces I cut off around an inch total. If you end up cutting the leather right at the clasp, that might be short enough.

I almost always pick on mail on Sat. Did today. USPS was late tho, had not arrived at their usual time.

@RiotDemon 6 1/4" here. skinny wrists, skinny feet, skinny nose. Rest of my body, I’ve given up on. Heart no longer pumps right, so I retain quite a bit of water. When I was last in the hospital, they took off 45 pounds of water. Fun.

Oh well, at least part of me are still skinny.

You may be thinking that you want yours loose, but if you decide to wear it this way, you will need a different clasp. This clasp will come open if hanging down loose.

@f00l it was on my hand, that’s why it didn’t look that loose I suppose. The photo @Barney showed is what it looked like before shortening.

It felt like wearing a bangle, which I don’t care for. I don’t want stuff sliding all over my arm. Now that I shortened it, it doesn’t move, just like a watch wouldn’t. That’s my preference.
