Nigerian Prince X's Bracelet Good Faith Reveal Thread

@riotdemon has already shortened hers and mentioned how she re-used the same clasp and gave directions for what she did to do that in her discussion with @barney so some of those instructions actually were made by @riotdeomon.

A different approach is being taken by @barney who ordered some new clasps and generously made an offer to send new ones to people who are shortening theirs if they wanted (so her’s isn’t shortened yet, my mistake).

So glad there are people who are clever with stuff like this who figured out how to make theirs fit and then let everyone else know what to do who needs to shorten theirs. Thank you!

@Barney looking at your photo again, you actually have the clasp backwards. The box looking side needs to go flat against your wrist, and then the T goes into it, and lays flat on top of the thin bar on the box side.

If that doesn’t make sense, I’ll try to get a photo later.

It’ll make it more secure.

@RiotDemon Yeah, I realized that after I took the picture. It had just fallen off my wrist when i was trying to teach Lady how to fetch a ball (hopeless dog). Anyway, I quickly put it back on for the picture and Oops!, wrong way. But it comes off when clasped the correct way. It’s just too loose. I don’t want to risk losing it.

@Barney I can assure you that with the bracelet shorter, it won’t go anywhere with that clasp. You said you ordered a different style as well, it might be easier to take off than the original clasp. With mine as tight as I like, it’s more challenging to undo it. I don’t have to worry about it falling off that way though.

@mikibell it has some kind of doohickey (bead holder?) that it’s glued onto.

@RiotDemon That doohickey also rotates. Mine was just a tiny bit off center when I got it, which would have driven me crazy, but luckily I was able to twist it so it was just right.

@RiotDemon cool, I suspected as much considering the height of the adjacent beads and the standard height of a nickel/dime…very nicely done…

Forgot to add, these are much nicer in person than the picture. The Prince could add to his fortunes if he so desired. I would buy several to gift to some family members who will be jealous of mine.

@Kidsandliz Add in the Amazon factor. Last week Prime Day orders clogged up the mail system nationwide. This week, those of us who chose ‘no-rush’ shipping got our orders- plus a dollar credit for ebooks. I got $17., and my last item arrived last night.

I am presuming the mail has been slow due to Amazon Prime clogging up the postal service. I sent each of you an email asking if your bracelet has shown up yet. @Kidsandliz to be fair the migrating threads is of your creation. It’s not fair to expect people to keep track of exactly which of the half dozen giveaway threads the conversation was going on in. If you want to keep making new threads every time there’s some new development that’s fine but realize that there’s gonna end up being carryover from thread to thread.

@Kidsandliz I didn’t get that (which is adorable) but apparently by posting here I am getting a lot of the other kind of spam (that I never got before) about the same type of “do me a favor and I will pay you X amount once you help me” spam. That and Viagra, and it’s knock off versions, for my apparent penal disfunction. Which of course I don’t have problems with - since I don’t have one. And if anyone wants to see hot Russian - and other various types women - just let me know and I can forward you those emails.

@WTFsunshine You should see the spam folder of the mericanexchange email address LOL. That started up within an hour of posting that address. Lesson there is never post your email on the internet in any way that the bots can pick up and translate into an actual email address.

@Kidsandliz oddly enough the FML Early Bird address has never suffered from this issue. It seems like common domain email addresses (gmail, hotmail, etc.) must be more ripe for the harvesting. If another mehrican exchange is run I will be happy to provide a @mehmbersonly.com email address alias for posting if the organizer likes.

@Kidsandliz Huh…no wonder it takes a while to get some of my purchases! Like my Meh birthday shirt that I ordered before the mehrathon. I got all but one of my items I bought during that but no birthday shirt. With Drumph originally saying he likes China (although I love the video that was posted where it sounds like vagina - which liking vagina was probably the only thing he’s ever said that is actually true) and now all the sanctions he has applied - I guess that answers my question about where my shirt is. Sneaky little Meh!

@djslack Prince X make the ones he sent you guys. He had told me he made them for his extended family for christmas and then, of course, made them to order with the specific coins for us. I have no idea if he made those (in the ad) too as I have no idea what Prince X does for a living. Regardless of who made the ones in that ad, Prince X was incredibly generous to us with respect to making the ones he sent to the folks here. Like @WTFsunshine said, the ones sent to us were beautifully done.

@Kidsandliz I assume this is a copycat item made in China, but I could be totally wrong. The flower bead is not as striking as the antique coins, and the colors are not as appealing as the ones Prince X makes. The photograph itself is not up to par with the samples that were posted here, either, so I don’t think they’re by the same creator.

I have no idea if Prince X invented the design or if it’s something that has been around, but the only place I’ve seen it is here. If he did originate the design and this is the only place it’s been published, then it’s kind of amazing to see a copy of it pop up on Amazon so quickly.

@djslack Well I think it was posted over a month ago on the mehrican exchange reveal thread so that that is more than long enough for the chinese to make a copy. If that is the case I sure hope he doesn’t earn his living making them (and other similar stuff).
