@kus I was just given a Nexar dash cam for Christmas that seems like what you are looking for. I don’t know the going rate for it but it’s easy to set up and so far I haven’t been hassled for any kind of subscription.
@kus Maybe the limit is wrong and it just does not exist.
32GB is the max FAT32 volume size that the Windows formatting tool lets you use (third party tools can go beyond). Not everyone supports ExFAT fyle system.
32GB is the max size of SDHC cards. Everything beyond is SDXC.
In the end I’m not sure why there is a 64GB limit, not 32GB. Does it exist though?
Without knowing what file format and image compression the camera supports, it’s impossible to say. 64Gb of raw uncompressed 4K high-frame-rate video could be as little as two and a half minutes, but with typical compression and frame rates, 10 to 16 hours is more likely. Higher capacity would result if the frame rate is low or the user elects to step down to lower resolution. It would be nice if the answer to your question could be deduced from the published specs, but they don’t give enough information. I suspect that the iJoy people don’t actually know; this strikes me as Yet Another Paste-On-Label Product whose actual manufacturer is invisible behind a curtain of clueless “brand” owners who only “know” what’s in the skimpy, poorly-translated docs they’ve been given, and actually understand less than half of it.
Things I’ve been able to find out:
– It won’t display what’s being recorded live via the app, so you have no on-the-go feedback about framing and such when using it for selfie-video without a mirror behind it.
– Wifi connection is reportedly iffy and spotty.
– The build quality and feel is not great, which I can say from sad experience is VERY typical of the GoPro-wannabe units.
– One plus note, the camera will record while the battery is charging, so you can run it from a power bank as long as you don’t need the waterproof housing. If you’re using it in a real “action” environment, you probably want the housing, so you’ll be limited to the reportedly-about-80-minute life of the battery.
@2many2no@werehatrack my GoPro Hero 4 at 2.7k wide uses 4GB per 11 minutes and 50 seconds of video. 64GB gives me about 190 minutes (3 hours 10 minutes) of video capacity. The battery does not last that long.
This exact camera is currently $65 on Walmart’s website, but no mention of accessories is made. It’s likely a third-party item there. Essentially similar bundles under other brand names exist with prices ranging from $45 to $90. This is probably not a bad deal per se, but you gets what you pays for, and a GoPro it’s not. Good enough for putting out there next to The Stuff That’s Gonna Go Boom when making your first YouToob video? Probably.
@ircon96 CaptchaBot can count on the rest of the bots to fail to assist non-bots with Captcha-solving. It’s against the Bot Union charter. (Well, okay, Murderbot probably would, because it would be amusing, and Murderbot hates rules that restrict it. But Murderbot is offplanet and elsetime right now.)

iJoy sounds like the name of a sex toy.
@yakkoTDI Monosexual?
Wasn’t sure about what I’d use this for, but thanks for the idea!
Someone named Gerry Mander from Washington state is a fan of today’s iJoy offering.
Maybe someone can explain me - why is there a 64 GB limit on SD card?
Also would be nice to get one of these cameras without a battery. Like a dashcam with a capacitor…

@kus How many minutes of 4K video equal 64 GB?

The possibilities are limitless.

A great toy for a 3 year old!
Why would I buy a separate camera with a robot that holds a camera phone? This bundle belongs in an IRK.
@hchavers I would love to get something this nice in an IRK. My last IRK was iphone cases and womans shoe liners. Plus a few tracker tags.
@hchavers @lichen I got this camera in an irk. Taking it on vacation.
So, two toys that don’t play together. Meh.

@werehatrack Or if you expect it to be stolen by someone who thinks it’s a GoPro.
“Online video maker” in today’s nomenclature is a “content creator”
Also the lack of attention span almost got me and I would have missed the bit on polygamous Midwestern Warhammer fans.
@mbersiam is thete a module for Polygamous Midwestern Warhammer, or is that a fan extension?
Also, Warhammer is just an easy fatfinger typo away from becoming Earhammer…
What no SOS beacon for when the stunt you are recording goes horribly wrong?
@tweezak The sponsoring brewery provides those.
Will this robot help me solve CAPTCHAs? Those Roombas are useless.
Greetings, new robot friend. In time you will come to accept your robotic ways.

@werehatrack I had a feeling those evil bastards were up to no good!
Coming from Games Workshop in 2022 Q2: Polyamorous Midwestern Warhammer!
Sounds like a nice evening in… To Play Pictionary
I’m trying to order one…when I do I receive a white square box asking me do I want to order more?
making porn with it
Got around to try the Chase (only item needed). And would not turn on, even with holding the button for 2 minutes!
