@Gutterpunkz Warranty is 90 days Mediocre. They almost certainly won't want the broken one back before they ship you a replacement, or refund your $3.
Unless you did something like I did, the warranty should apply to your purchase. It has been less than 90 days, and you didn't violate this warranty clause:
If you misuse, abuse, or otherwise beat the crap out of an item, you’re on your own.
I now have two broken ones. In one case I dissected the flashlight. For the other one, I did some destructive analysis. Could I destroy it with just thumb pressure, while holding it the normal way. The answer is yes. Merely pressing hard is enough to wear it out in three cycles.
@ceagee well the button gets stuck because that part of the main board is unsupported and as such if you press too hard it bends but usually doesn't break... I opened mine up and put a couple small pieces of folded cardboard underneath...
@mike808 great light but center on/off button break easily. I bought 2 for $6 on October 13. One button break right away. The other one is ok but will probably pop off at the slightest push that is not perfectly centered.
Hmm, these were totally worth it on two for Tuesday. However, at $2 more for the pair... probably not.
I took one camping. It was certainly pretty bright. The stand works reasonably well enough. Haven't tried the magnet or hook yet, though the hook seems like it would fall apart if you looked at it funny.
Yeah, I bought a few of these last time. One has the broken button problem right out of the package. That said, I threw another two into my glove compartments, so they are emergency use only, so the buttons won't wear out I suppose. And I'm going to mess around with the broken one when I get a chance, pretty sure I can get it to work.
However, one thing that I don't like about these lights is that they simply don't feel very comfortable in your hand. You wouldn't want to use these as hand-helds all the time, there are better choices (though probably at a higher cost). Also, they are not quite as bright as I imagined they would be, especially the front LED that acts as a flashlight (as opposed to the area light). Also on one of my lights, one of the LEDs that makes up the area light is burned out right from the get-go.
All said, though, these are pretty damn inexpensive lights, so how much can you really complain? The only comparable deals I've seen are in the flashlight aisle at Big Lots.
In sum, I like them for value, but I don't respect them, nor could I say I am proud of them.
@defibrillator yeah two of mine are defective--II just checked them the other day after I heard of others like yourself that received defective ones. I bought six total and was bummed 1/3 of them were already defective and they were new:( one if them even had the battery civet broken :(
@AttyVette hey customer service at MEH rocks. I wrote to them last Friday and received a message back that I would get partial refund on the 2 defective lights they sent me. I was bummed though because if they hadn't put these on sale again so quickly, I could have gotten two replacement lights sent to me instead. Still thanks meh!!!
I liked these more than I thought I would. @defibrillator: I thought the opposite; they feel great in my paws. Very nice portable work lights. If you can't see with these, you need to see an eye doctor. In for two more to have one wherever needed. Let's light up the runway at the vast-fluctuating-airport!
The one that still works is wonderful. The other's button broke within 5 minutes after I got it out of the box. I wanted a replacement but was told they didn't have any more. I see now that this was not true.
I, for one, treat my buttons with dignity and respect.
(Also really like the kickstand feature, and the magnet. The flashlight end is kinda weak, but the area light is pretty strong, especially for the money. This really is a good light for the low, low price.)
Many are complaining about the higher price, but it is probably related to shipping costs. Also, two-for Tuesday deals are usually better. Volume, volume, volume!
Got the two for 6 last time. Only unpacked one, button worked. I guess I should just blindly toss the other one, since the button is broken, guaranteed.
I got 6 last time. Checked them for function and all were fine. I took one for home use and put the others away for Xmas gifts. However after just a few uses, the button failed on the one I selected. I don’t have confidence in them, will gift the others with a warning, to considered them disposable, for backup use only.
I bought 4 last time, 3 had broken buttons. There's an empty space behind the circuit board so it flexes and lets the button slip off of the switch inside. I cut some scrap wood to fit those voids and hot glued them in place. Buttons haven't slipped off again since.
@goattuberexcellent hack. Either you or @Moose should do a YouTube showing how. And you deserve a case of them for potentially minimizing the returns for Meh!
I bought six of these things last time. I have only used one, and I wondered why the rubber seal on the button appears to be popping out of its groove after just one use. Do I learn that there must be something wrong with an item that is for sale here? Apparently not, I keep shopping here... Take heed!
To be clear, the miniature Harrison clothes are included, then, even if he's not, correct? Because otherwise it's about the same price, sans VMP, as Amazon, and I know meh is all about the "emptyin the warehouse" prices...
I also had one button right if the box broken. That is probably why Meh was able to buy them and offer them so cheap. They however are a good light so I just bought two more. I just probably will not use them for Xmas presents because it is fairly obvious that the buttons are not reliable.
So you all have forced me to pull the ones I got in the twofer out from last time and just let them run to make sure they are not gonna fail... because they are in the "power outage" bag... speaking of which hey meh would you put those backpacks on sale again? how about twofer 20... or even one for 15 again... I can use a few more please.
I bought 4 last time and all work great. They're pretty bright for their size. Gave one as a gift, one in the car, one for general use and one to spare or as a future gift. Not a bad stocking stuffer for the price.
Got in on the 2 for last time and they ROCK! Have been doing house work and it has come in handy at least a half dozen times. Was going to give away be second one but decided to keep since it's so handy. $4 with VMP is worth, but def not if you are paying $5 shipping.
Last time I ordered this one, I only received one... Too bad that when I contacted them about it, they responded so quickly that j completely forgot about following up with them. Yeah I'm a screw up.
Marketing genius. Sell a defective product. Blame it on the customer. Increase price. Try to sell the rest. You guys get the "brass balls" award for this one. Meh
We don't give year end (Christmas) bonuses or gifts. We pay our people enough to begin with to take the issue of money completely off the table. The employee (truly, our family) and our company is much better off for it. A year end bonus or the expectation of a "gift" (based on performance) DON'T WORK to increase productivity.
@jmbunkin We're DoD employees, so I'm not allowed to give them anything more than $5, give or take. More like just stocking stuffers for our sparse decorations in the moldy-100 year-old-used-to-be-a-WWI-morgue, converted warehouse that we call an office.
Smartasses.
They DO get performance bonuses around February, unless the Republicans fuck that up again.
I feel bad that I don't have enough to send to my offsite peeps--any chance Meh could cut me a deal to buy 20 of these? Mebbe with a little discount for bulk?
I got these on the 2fer a few weeks ago. Got as many as I could. My goal was to mount them to the front of my ZTR mower so I could mow in the dark. Turns out the magnets....WORK! Surprise! I can take tight turns, hit bumps, and still have 96 LEDs blazing a trail in front, ahead, and to the left and right. Well worth a 2fer, not sure it's worth a 1fer.
I just did that on my shitty Craftsman zero-turn. It works great--until the magnet can't hold up against the bumpy terrain and it falls off, going under the deck. Which was off, but still managed to break the magnet bottom. Damn it.
I use a flashlight daily at my job, but break/ lose them frequently so I hate to pay very much. These are great lights; incredibly bright and battery life is acceptable. Out of the four lights I bought last time two of them have developed button issues though. And no, I did not abuse them; the buttons are cheap and operate erratically. One of them has to be turned on and off several times before it will decide to stay lit. The other turns on right away, but will just flicker and go dim for no apparent reason while it is sitting there untouched, requiring it to be turned off and back on a couple of times before it will operate normally again.
@Thumperchick I noticed it too - this was different (anomalous) in both timing and duration than the "normal" rollover - it appeared to actually sell out, was my thought also.
I'm considering these as magnets for my fridge which also have the potential to light up (occasionally). I was hesitant to find what images 'velvety-touching-pegasus' would yield, but they were surprisingly safe for work! I'll hope the USPS doesn't damage them through delivery; not a fan of the damages or misplaced deliveries USPS often does with my orders.
Literally, pushed the button twice and it was irretrievably stuck inside the casing of the light. 'Flimsy' is the best description........that and piece of crap.
I busted the magnet on onea mine last nite first time I use it how can you sell shit like this and expect to stay in business I demand four more of these as compensations for my troubles and mental anguish I mean if you cant trust a good texas company not to screw you over like this who can you trust. Oh woe is I. But the magnet did fall out when the stand are thingie cracked, theses things are probably made out of 100% m regrind. Button's still working though.
@cranky1950 well I poked the yellow button out of the groove on one side, but the button is still working. So far it's magnetless and your finger gets stuck in the hole but it still lites every time.
@chetayev Did you use the contact form at meh.com/support ? They can take 1-2 business days to respond to a support message. (If you did email or use the form and didn't see a response, please check your spam folder.)
Was using mine a bunch this past week cleaning up a room, then today the magnet tore out of the bottom and the button broke. Tried to at least open it up to harvest the LEDs, but it also seems to have come with a pre-stripped screw, so oh well.
2 of the 3 I purchased were defective. 1 with a broken button just like a few have reported and the other must have had a defect in the electronics as it would flicker a lot.
@keithwaller write in to meh.com/support and let them know about your fundamentally flawed flashing flashlights. (There's a 90 day Mediocre warranty on them.)
I guess these did turn out to be pretty poopy. The 6 dollar ones from tractor supply while having the same form factor, seem to be far more robust. Namely the magnets don't pull out and the power button actually works.
These LED flashlights would have been a “good buy”, had they not been constructed so poorly. However, Meh did compensate me for 2 of my 4 flashlights which were broken, perhaps in shipping and from the time I had them in hand. In both cases, the power buttons were loose, to the point of almost falling off, and the flashlights could never be powered up at all. Thanks for reimbursing me for the defective ones Meh…
my experience as well (at least the bad switch part… never took the time to contact meh about the crappy construction… just chalked it up to ‘sometimes, you get what you pay for’)

Have so many flashlights. MEHHH
Sucks for anyone that didn't get these on Oct. 13th, would have gotten 2 for $6.
@dynamiklol ...so having a backup for parts is that important?
@RedOak thanks for the salt in the wounds. I say meh to you good(ish) sir or ma'am. Meh.
@dynamiklol Yea I got them then, One didnt work right out the box... so basically i paid $6 for one... MEH

They are pretty great..... as long as you get one that doesn't have a broken button.
To note : I specifically like that it has a magnet you can keep an emergency light attached to the side of the fridge where you can find it.
@ceagee yep - I got two and a buddy of mine got two. 3 of the 4 have buttons that get suck and don't push well. Still worth it though.
@ceagee broken Button? Looks like I need to check the ones I bought a few weeks ago
@ceagee
// Just don't be too rough with the button //
If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that…
@YKnot That's what, she said.
@DeuceSevin
The judges will also accept "ten cents"
@ceagee I didn't trust sticking mine on the side of the refrigerator. It wouldn't take much to get it to give up. Or so it seemed. I didn't test it.
@TBoneZeOriginal same here. Button gets stuck down and won't toggle. Make a it very tough when working on the car wearing gloves.
@TBoneZeOriginal suck buttons are the worst.
@ceagee well the button gets stuck because that part of the main board is unsupported and as such if you press too hard it bends but usually doesn't break... I opened mine up and put a couple small pieces of folded cardboard underneath...
Can someone shed some light on this item?
It would be the bright point of my day to do so.
@mike808 Surely someone will be LED to give some illuminating insight.
@mike808 great light but center on/off button break easily. I bought 2 for $6 on October 13. One button break right away. The other one is ok but will probably pop off at the slightest push that is not perfectly centered.
@Land729 Way to illuminate the situation
I will try to be a skilled-calm-machinist and not bash in my power button. Thanks for the warning, Meh!
AAA batteries is dildoes. Pass.
is there a way to get my ti 89 calculator to work with some lithium ion batteries that are good and cheap? AAA sucks donkey balls.
@fenguin these AAA's don't suck: (especially at $1.83 each in this pack at Newegg last week)
@RedOak The warped perspective on the batteries and the packaging is driving me crazy.
@RedOak I bought a twelve-pack of those when I bought these flashlights last time. I spent more for the batteries than the lights.
@kus knowing ti they require 1000mah minimum... isn't synergy fun?
@craigthom and I'll bet these batteries will outlast the lights.
@matthewjfazio Now that you mention it, ME TOO.
Méh-jà vu all over again.
I bought these last time, and have used them several times. So far the buttons haven't failed me, but if they do, I'll be sure to rant about it.
Threw these in spine shelter kits. The test light worked great. Guess I should test the rest now.
I ordered a couple earlier & was surprised by how nice they were. But then I'm a soft touch.
Fun fact: @KyleThePhotoGuy no longer warns me before he uses my photo for something
@harrison - Once you're famous, I don't think you have protection. It's the downside of stardom.
A shining deal last week at 2/$6 but dim this week at 1/$4. Meh.

Sold so many the last time the price us going up. Supply and demand sucks...
I'm in for 3. I will provide a loving forever home for those broken buttons.
The first time I pushed the button with normal force, it broke. Total junk.
Perfect for those leaky AAAs.
24 LEDs ≠ bright
@dannokun well it sure made my eyes burn when I glanced at it
The one that still works is wonderful. The other's button broke within 5 minutes after I got it out of the box. I wanted a replacement but was told they didn't have any more. I see now that this was not true.
@dravecky - Couldn't they have purchased more since then?
oh noes. leftovers for $1 more..
@username The need the extra money to cover all the returns they will get because of the defective buttons
33.3333333% increase in price, no increase in quality . . .
BATH
I bought 6 last time. I'm keeping 2 and giving away the others. They all work great. I must have been lucky, considering the other comments here.
@MesmerLab I got four of them an they all work fine, guess I'm doing something wrong.
I also got 4 that are 100% working so far.
@MesmerLab I bought 4 last time but don't have any AAAs to test them. They could be good, they could be shit.
They're great for the price, very bright. They have magnets. The "flashlight" setting is pointless. Buy as many as you can.
Not another bright idea
I, for one, treat my buttons with dignity and respect.
(Also really like the kickstand feature, and the magnet. The flashlight end is kinda weak, but the area light is pretty strong, especially for the money. This really is a good light for the low, low price.)
own two, in for 3 more, fatherly-withdrawn-mass
Wonder if others will take a shining to this LED light offer that is for sell tonight??
Last time, I ordered two. One had a broken button out of the box. Fooled once, shame on me. Fooled twice......shame on Meh.
@chuckf1 if you order two this time, perhaps you will get 2 broken buttons! ohh the mystery!
Shine on, you crazy Ideaworks Multi-Use LED Flashlight and Area Light!
Many are complaining about the higher price, but it is probably related to shipping costs. Also, two-for Tuesday deals are usually better.
Volume, volume, volume!
@KDemo
Shipping CostsProfit Taking / Shrinkage - and most likely shrinkage.@Pavlov - Um. They got too cold?
@KDemo

Got the two for 6 last time. Only unpacked one, button worked. I guess I should just blindly toss the other one, since the button is broken, guaranteed.
I got 6 last time. Checked them for function and all
were fine.
@goattuber excellent hack.
Take heed!
I bought these last time. No problems yet. They work great as an under-hood work light.
To be clear, the miniature Harrison clothes are included, then, even if he's not, correct? Because otherwise it's about the same price, sans VMP, as Amazon, and I know meh is all about the "emptyin the warehouse" prices...
@stinks You don't want old Harrison clothes. They smell like dust and the inside of an old fridge.
file this offering under "mailing it in".
Hahaha. Glad to hear others had issues with the button. I was sad when mine broke... It was a good under the counter work light.
hulk smash little buttons?
I also had one button right if the box broken. That is probably why Meh was able to buy them and offer them so cheap. They however are a good light so I just bought two more. I just probably will not use them for Xmas presents because it is fairly obvious that the buttons are not reliable.

I can use a few more please.
After reviewing the photos it looks like Harrison got the jump on the rest of us!
I bought 4 last time and all work great. They're pretty bright for their size. Gave one as a gift, one in the car, one for general use and one to spare or as a future gift. Not a bad stocking stuffer for the price.

This item was 2 for $6 on 10/24? Why the price increase?
@ckcarlton Because they can.
@Pavlov @ckcarlton They need to cover the greater than first expected warranty costs.
Be interesting to see if this new batch has any problems with the buttons.
Had a balky button on my first one. Gave the thing a thwack on its side and now all's well. Go figure.
@azurenickle You should do a vid instruction on your thwack hack.
Marketing genius. Sell a defective product. Blame it on the customer. Increase price. Try to sell the rest. You guys get the "brass balls" award for this one. Meh
@samnrick Exactly
@samnrick I blame the new econony
I dunno, I ordered 6 the last time (to give out to my local employees at Christmas) and they all work great.
Maybe you guys have disgruntled Postal employees who play kickball with your boxes?
@Sapper Wow a $3 flashlight, it's going to be a great Christmas for your employees!
@jmbunkin Next year they get batteries for them!
We don't give year end (Christmas) bonuses or gifts. We pay our people enough to begin with to take the issue of money completely off the table. Congratulations meh for the sell out at 11:59PM I'd call that a perfect day for supply vs demand? right? Is that the first time it's happened?
@sohmageek it's a hoax, urban legend material
@sohmageek that happens nightly...
@Thumperchick I noticed it too - this was different (anomalous) in both timing and duration than the "normal" rollover - it appeared to actually sell out, was my thought also.
@Pavlov Meh ! sell out? day it isn't so!!!!!
@Thumperchick It does look like a sell out, maybe someone can clarify, but it looks like:
no sell out:
https://meh.com/deals/panasonic-4-handset-link2cell-cordless-phone--refurbished-
Sellout:
https://meh.com/deals/ideaworks-led-flashlight-and-lamp
@sohmageek I am so happy that someone noticed this. We discussed the same in our morning meeting.
@sohmageek Yep, 11:59pm sellout. (@thumperchick the timestamp [11:59pm] thing doesn't happen unless it's actually a sellout.)
@sohmageek That's freaking fantastic, I hadn't even looked yet.
@snapster so was that your first sellout at 11:59? I saw another one at 11:51 but it's not as cool as 11:59
@sohmageek Nice! It's the perfect deal, then!
I'm considering these as magnets for my fridge which also have the potential to light up (occasionally). 2 weeks of clicking and I still have not broken one. Come on people! help me here what am I doing wrong?????
Congrats! Biggest POS from meh yet. Button lasted two pushes and now it's totally fucked, a new record for you guys...
@irishbill send a message to meh.com/support about your sucky button.
Literally, pushed the button twice and it was irretrievably stuck inside the casing of the light. 'Flimsy' is the best description........that and piece of crap.
@irishbill Didn't get it all out the first time, eh?

@cranky1950 well I poked the yellow button out of the groove on one side, but the button is still working. So far it's magnetless and your finger gets stuck in the hole but it still lites every time.
@cranky1950 I love it when you live up to your username.
@Thumperchick hey i have an tmage to live up to
It arrived with a broken button. Tried to contact MEH bot no bite. The 2nd one seems to work fine.
Was nice while it lasted.
@cryomancer199X these have a 90 day Mediocre warranty on them. Write in to meh.com/support and let them know what happened.
@Thumperchick Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction!
@Thumperchick So now we find out there's a triple top secret warranty on them. How GMish
@cranky1950 super secret warranty posted in the specs on the day of the sale. sneaky sneaky!
