So nice of you! The S8 is going to my son. My wife’s S7 Edge (she got a Note as well) is going to my daughter. My daughter’s S5 (one of our older phones) is going to my youngest son…
@jst1ofknd I know that chain all too well. The device cycle of life. (as opposed to the game stop cycle of life where sometimes you have to pay them to take the old games.Then they sell it for 10 bux)
@joebuddah@jst1ofknd That’s the way I do it. My old, better S6 will go to my daughter. She will then pass down her older, crappier S6 to my son. Who will pass on his old Motorola RAZR to my very young great-nephew.
Wait! I don’t think I have ever said “great-nephew” before. WTF! I don’t want to talk about it
Did the same for 3 phones over the weekend. Got 3 Nokia 6.1 on BestBuy deals with free $40 Cricket refill card (a $50 card, but you have to buy a useless $10 sim kit – I’m already on Cricket). Used ChasePay for 5% CB. Wanted a white one so got PM deal on Amzn with Discover 5% CB.
Upgraded from an S5, a BLU HD R1, and an iPhone 5. Android swap phones was silky smooth. Apple uploaded contacts, calendar, and photos to Google Drive, then synced with new phone. Preserved all app data. Many apps have no data, they’re using cloud data and APIs these days, so they just required a login to reload my data/profiles.
Swapping sims & SD data cards (S5 & BLU) was trivial.
Very pleased with them, so far.
Had to get a handful of USB micro-to-C adapters.
I’d be happy to take the 8 off your hands for you. I 'm just that nice of a guy

That’s what I recently got… the Note 9
Oh… and yes… it’s the purple one.
@lseeber
My wife got the purple one too. I got plain old every day black.
@lseeber Purple is the only reasonable choice. Congrats!
@Barney Thankya, thankya. And, yes…it was.
