@Cerridwyn For the first 65 years of my life, I was convinced that whiskey was vile because the first two samples I’d had were of the varieties that taste like either furniture or a half-drained swamp. Then my daughter introduced me to a Japanese type that’s given its final aging in port wine barrels. It was amazing. I know of another that is made in Blanco, Texas.
@werehatrack Oh, and some whisk(e)ys are distinctly different when served with an angel’s kiss of water or in one of the glasses designed to bring out the aromatics
It was a thing, apparently, in the Victorian era, to distill with additional aromatics. Not like gin or absinthe (not that those cannot be yummy) but with, for example, orange oil
If you serve it in a regular glass it is sorta blah. Serve it with that kiss of water and in a Norland whisky glass and omg it’s really wildly awesome.
@Cerridwyn Thank you for the new fun word. I like fun new words I’m upset with myself that that was not already in my vernacular. This is why I come here. Mehducation
@capnjb@Kyeh yes it is thank you I had a really hard time typing on my phone. And it didn’t come up in the dictionary to autocorrect so I just left it. Trivia question what’s the other direction, the opposite
@capnjb@Cerridwyn@Kyeh The opposite of “widdershins” is obviously “anticounterclockwise” (or counteranticlockwise if you’re British).
Or you could just go the direction your shins are facing, and shinny up the sun pole.
while legal recreational weed just recently went on sale here in Ohio, i’ve never partaken.

Coffee or whiskey. Fresh roasted for the coffee and well-aged on the whiskey

@werehatrack that has kind of become a thing. Various types of wine barrels. My favorite is important it’s ice wine
