I used to use a food processor a lot. But my knife skills have improved enough that I hardly feel the need any more.
As for blenders, I've pretty much outgrown the slushy adult beverage. Occasionally I'll make a grasshopper for dessert. One or twice a year I'll make a Lake Berryessa Gin Fizz: half a container frozen limeade with an equal amount of gin and half-and-half, an egg, a splash of orange flower water, and enough ice to make it milkshake consistency. My parents introduced me to that one.
@Mehrocco_Mole, Hubby and I got a refurbushed Vitamix for $250 for Christmas and use it every week for smoothies. We also have some recipe books to have some variety.
@Mehrocco_Mole Same deal here. Loved it at first. Seemed to just keep getting louder. Called customer service, and they won't replace it because it isn't broken. Gotta send it somewhere on my dime for a repair that might not find anything. My biggest problem is I just hate mailing anything. Maybe cards at Christmas, but every other gift, I pay for gift wrapping and have it sent.
Can I overclock this food processor?
I prefer to let my stomach do the processing.
