I just came in here to let you all know how much slightly better I am than all of you since I bike commute to work. Carry on in your mediocre exmehstences.
Daily, just because I love it. Mom is 68 and my cycling partner. I ride in the gym when I must, but we go pull a 20 mile ride in at least once a week. I wanna be her when I grow up. We joke that we're training, for what we don't know.
Not nearly enough but I'd really like to ride more. Need to upgrade the bike. I have a friend who rode across the country summer of '14. He blogged the trip and shared some phenomenal photos. I'm envious not just for the experience but for the shape he was in to make that ride.
We ride on the weekends in the spring, summer, and fall, and then we hibernate in the winter. We just did 8 leisurely miles on Saturday, which was a glorious day here for biking.
I was about to start biking to work during a transit strike in Philly. The day after my dad got my old road bike out of storage... the strike ended. A week later, someone stole it from the porch of my building. Then I move somewhere too far to bike to work from.
Now I live so close to work that biking it would be a waste. It's a 20 minute walk, or maybe a five minute bike ride. I'd rather walk.
@sanspoint Lmao - Seems Septa wants to strike every other year. My last stretch of dependence on them was via the R5 when I went to Jefferson 10 years ago. If it wasn't Septa screwing things up, it was Amtrak.
@Lotsofgoats Sorry to hear that n hope you are OK!
I don't recommend being doored either!
half a lifetime ago I cycled the streets of San Francisco. It was pure joy but it really takes those SpiderMan senses and a lot of luck plus the knowledge that motorist do not often see cyclist.
Pretty much never. Around here it seems like bicyclists are the first to scream "It's the law!" yet they're the last to obey it themselves. Bicyclists are required to follow the same rules of the road as other vehicle operators. Do not split lanes. Do not go straight through red lights and stop signs. Use appropriate signals. Etc.
Ride Your Face Like a Bicycle Seat - ChiKKi BooM!
..
@Pavlov You're fucking warped. SMH

@rhrgrt Nah, you're just roadway points waiting to be scored, especially if you lose a shoe when you go flying through the air.
@rhrgrt I tried to win more, but Meh just kept hanging every time I clicked on "Say it.", so now I'm trying this instead a few minutes later.
@rhrgrt I do too, fite me m8
@Lotsofgoats I'm actually a really tough body builder guy who does MMA too. I bike to my MMA practice, uphill. Careful m8, mite get rekt.
Came to make a veiled sexual comment but I guess it's not needed, carry on.
@mfladd
That gif combines two of my favorite things: wheel spokes, and invisible orange zebras. YAY!!!

@jaremelz
When the time comes, you'll be glad you did.
I rode one of those pedal taverns in Nashville this weekend, does that count?
@plastrd Thank you for your tourist dollars. Now go home. ;)

When I'm done dialing this phone number I'll tell you
Biking is my primary form of transportation (along with public transit) and the main way I avoid owning a car.
I wonder if this will stir up a storm like a few days ago.

@ianrbuck Yeah but who does your laundry?
