How long does it take?
7How long does it take for you to change your clocks?
Quickly, because you can’t stand it being wrong?
A while, because you don’t look at your microwave clock?
What other reasons do you have for slacking, getting it out of the way right away, or something in between?

I never changed my watch from dst last time. I always forget how to do so and didn’t find the instructions again until about a week or two ago so why bother?
The ones that update automatically, instantly. The ones that I have to do myself, months-never (car clock) or never (wall clock)
@RiotDemon My car battery died this morning, in the beginning of a day-long adventure. Goat or not, I blame you for the whole thing.
@PanFuckinTheist oops. Maybe you’ll change your car’s clock now?
@RiotDemon yup- 1 hour off is easy. an hour and 40-something minutes is not.
@Pantheist at least the time will be correct until November now.
@RiotDemon true
Most adjust themselves, some I changed when I got up this morning. When I set my alarms tonight I’ll fix those. It’s amazing how many clocks we have!
Everything does it on its own. I’m lazy. ;-P
I changed mine the night before. Any that can be seen at the same time I had to set so they switch minutes at the same time +/- 1 second.
Perhaps I have issues.
I’ll change the clocks in the house that need help today. I think it’s just the microwave and the little decorative clock in the bathroom, it’ll take less than a minute. The car will finally be right again after 6 months of being wrong. It’s too much work to change.
I don’t bother with the car. The rest of them change themselves.
If I wait long enough my brother does it instead!
I changed my bedside alarm clock as soon as I thought of it. I’ll probably forget to do my watch for a month or two since I generally know what hour it is when I look at it. I think that’s all I have (well, need pliers to do the stove, so that’ll probably be skipped).
I love the shift from feeling lazy about not ever changing a clock to feeling ahead of the game that happens once the time changes.
It’s usually done by noon of the day of. My husband usually gets to it before I do. (But I bet my bathroom clock hasn’t changed. I was right…)
Watch is atomic, phone, computer, clock radio all update on their own. Car updates via gps sync automatically. The microwave and the few wall clocks scattered around I get to whenever I hit that room. As long as I’m not dependent on that particular alarm waking me up on time, I don’t really care when I get to it.
I change (at least) the clock by my bedside the night before. I spent today changing various clocks as I think about them. Most rooms in my house have a clock (or so). I also have two analog watches, and they need changing too. I changed the clock in the car a little while ago; that one only gets changed when I get in the car.
There’s still the clock in the sewing room, but it’ll keep. I have a lot of clocks.
Phones, tablets and computers all changed themselves. I ended up being up after 2:00 AM, so I did the stove and microwave (only took two tries to get them within a second of each other) along with my bedroom alarm clock and the CPAP machine. I finally replaced the battery in the bedroom wall clock, so it is working instead of alternating between 10:36:42 and 10:36:43. The living room wall clock started doing the one second forward, one second back dance, so it got a new battery as well.
I did the car at 1:26 PM when I noticed it… Springing forward is easy: one button press. And finally, I reset the analog portion of my Martian Notifier watch at 7:58 PM (the digital portion reset from my phone or perhaps by itself).
All told, I spent less than five minutes, since getting the stove and microwave in sync went quickly this time.
Maybe a decade ago, I left all my clocks, etc. on standard time for a couple of years. I got used to it very quickly and it really didn’t matter.
Phuf…clocks
I live in a post-chrono world.
I refuse to acknowledge Daylight Savings Time. It sucks.
@Barney
I try to refuse to acknowledge Standard Time. The customs of our society drag me kicking and screaming. I give in finally with poor grace.
DST rocks. It’s the change that sucks.
I know you may disagree. But you’re in Kansas.
@f00l Shoo, shoo! Go away!
@Barney
You’re in Kansas. You’re safe enough. Don’t plan on coming that way soon.
My atomic watch didn’t change yet. But it hasn’t been outside today.
Ask Alexa if she adjusts to DST.
@PocketBrain I spent more time on Alexa than I should have, but not enough to be sure that I understand her. I had her set to EST, but they really mean EST. So I set her to Amazon time. That worked. Then I noticed (I was in the Alexa app) that she has the wrong street address for us. In trying to fix the street address (which is not possible, in the end), she changed herself back to EST so I reset her to Amazon time.
My fabo atomic g-shock has not changed over yet.
Guess I have to dig out the manual again …
I change them immediately, but my wife seems to feel that you need multiple clocks in every room. So there’s 4 in our bedroom (one on each nightstand = 2, one on the bathroom counter, and one in the shower), 3 in the kitchen (microwave, stove, and a wall clock), two in the guestroom (alarm clock, wall clock), etc. Drives me nuts, and I always seem to miss one when I’m changing them. Which is why I briefly freaked out that I was an hour early this morning while I was in the shower.
Most of ours change automagically. The stove, coffepot, thermostat, cars and my Martian Notifier don’t. Those took a few minutes to reset as I came across them. I learned long ago that it is possible to set my microwave to not display the time, so that is one that doesn’t have to be screwed with…
The atomic g-shock finally caught up after I left it in the window overnight.
