I clicked for the soft z, but I still say it was a cheap marketing gimmick, calling them hoverboards. It has settled into a dull anger now, like what happens when people misuse “literally” or say “anyways” instead of leaving off the unnecessary s. Not enough to distract me from something important, but enough to get me into a rant if nothing else is happening.
@simplersimon anyways is slightly annoying, but but it is simply a mispronounced word, not the opposite meaning. These boards do not hover and this gross misuse is no comparable.
@Fen_Star yes, but you could argue that “hoverboard” was one company’s naming, which stuck on in the vernacular, like Kleenex or Dumpster. Most likely, in this case, because it is simpler than the official name “self- balancing scooter”
You mean “Fozzie” and “paparazzi” don’t rhyme?
@lljk no, but paparazzi and Nazi do.
@simplersimon I thought Fozzie and Nazi rhyme
It’s just Fozzie bear; not Fozzie, the bear.
@mtb002 thank you.
But Fozzie is a bear. If you use his full name, “Fozzie Bear”, you better recognize and capitalize
@matthew
Yep, my finger apparently slipped off the shift key, couldn’t fix it by the time I realized it later.
@mtb002 That five-minute edit window is both a curse and a convenient excuse.

@simplersimon Then, are the batteries flammable or inflammable?
@phendrick wait for it…
@phendrick
You can find out if you buy this handleless Segway.

@simplersimon Fine I will do it :
Anways, this is a hoverboard, the board is inches from the ground, I mean what more could you want?
I literally use one all the time.
Smart companies just want you saying their name, and companies with money write songs about their names.
Segthings are the official name.
There’s practically zero chance I will ever say this word out loud so it doesn’t really matter how I think it’s pronounced.
I think this wheeled death trap let’s you ‘mosey’ around.
Moss Eh?
Why paparazzi and not pizza?
Watch White Collar, that is how I spell it.
@Targaryen Agreed!
I can’t believe nobody else has said that yet.
@Targaryen Came here to post a picture of this.
I would guess it’s a reference to the Australian slang for mosquito, mozzie, which rhymes with Fozzie.
Wokka wokka!
Wouldn’t it be a Hard “O” vs. soft “o”? And it’s a hard “O”. Like when your taking your time to get somewhere you just Mozzie on over.
Mozzie
@Pavlov I think you said it wrong. It’s Mozzie.
@MrsPavlov Sorry.
Mozzie
@Pavlov Much better, thanks.
@MrsPavlov I knew I’d get it eventually.
