@christinerenee This is the third episode so far where he is visibly wearing an UP tracker. 1st: Glen sings Clocks (Mad Ape Den) 2nd: New Years Resolutions 3rd: this one.
Looking carefully, I think @matthew might have been wearing it UNDER Glen in previous episodes...
@nadroj@matthew@Headly What if the sports show was rather droll? Or the discussions were with a troll? Would you watch sports instead of work? Would you talk sports with our friend Irk?
@curtise I would not talk sports in a bar. I would not talk sports in a car. I also have a funny quirk, I never want to speak to Irk. Query, how to yo add line breaks and other formatting?
Re: weird, uncomfortable silence. Just a moment ago, I forwarded an email to a coworker, who was watching over my shoulder while I did it, and as it took me far too long to remember his name.
I need to say for posterity that I googled sock in a sock (so that I could find an image to express my feelings for what Glen should do), and this happened. Afraid to look? Apparently lotsa folks misspell "cock."
I think this principle can apply to several standard conversations. "Did you see [super popular show] last night?" - "No, I don't want Television."
Opening in a casual conversation with a negative point is irritating and changes the entire tone of interaction. Also, no one gives a shit about your fitness thing.
@Thumperchick Jules: Yeah, but, you are aware that there's an invention called television, and on this invention they show shows, right? Vincent: Yeah. Jules: Well, the way they pick TV shows is, they make one show. That show's called a pilot. Then they show that one show to the people who pick shows, and on the strength of that one show they decide if they want to make more shows. Some get chosen and become television programs. Some don't, become nothing. She starred in one of the ones that became nothing.
@glen Thanks! As if when someone ask me 'did you see the game?' or 'you must be a insert local team fan' was already weird. Now I know what they are thinking and not saying when I said I did not see the game and quickly tell them I do not follow sports. So I like to pull the band-aid of quick with a 'No, sorry I do not follow any sportsball teams.' with a quick chuckle. I found it is necessary because they will start to talk about (as if watching it was not bad enough. And no glen it is not I am too good. Imagine sports lovers, how would you like someone giving you a play by play of a first person shooter PC game, same thing).
So I guess Glen is a Sport Sock now.....
Is Glen wearing a Jawbone? I never noticed that before.

Glen got his Jawbone fitness tracker on Meh, December 13th: https://meh.com/forum/topics/jawbone-up-fitness-tracker
I like to jokingly greet people with "so, how about that local sports team?"
@WilhelmScreamer I actually own this shirt:
i am above watching sports. therefore i am better than glen.
@Headly My thoughts exactly. Glen reminds me of too many people I know.
I would rather buy a pair of speaker docks than watch professional sports.
You would buy a speaker dock?
You would not talk sports with a sock?
@matthew i would do it at the mall. i wouldnt do it with a ball.

Pass the dribble ball to the quarter center forward in the home zone!
Aw man! There was a game??? And me without my cesta...
I have learned to accept weird, uncomfortable silence.

@walarney This story is better than anything Glen has ever said.
I need to say for posterity that I googled sock in a sock (so that I could find an image to express my feelings for what Glen should do), and this happened. Afraid to look? Apparently lotsa folks misspell "cock."
@joelmw There is no way in hell I'm clicking on that link.
Lots of cats in socks too. (I did click.)

I mean, it's fine
@Thumperchick Especially the 39" refurbished ones!

@Headly Perfect Pulp Fiction reference.
@Headly @Thumperchick my favorite movie of all time, well done.
